Hi! First time posting here. I have been the same weight for 2 years and would like to tone up/drop 5-7 lbs. I have a hard time consistently cutting cals lower than 1800, as my habits/hunger keep it around there. Would love any suggestions to bust plateau. Height : 5'9" CW: 142.3 BF: ? GW: 135-137 March Goal : 140 March 3:…

Gi Did you friend request me? How do I do that? Thanks!!

Hi! I am new to this community. I am getting back into 5:2 after stopping for about 2 months and trying Whole 30. Whole 30 helped me tame some bad habits & start better ones but I still lose more weight when I do 5:2. The only annoying thing for me is logging & weighing everything. Do you guys do that on your non-fast days…

Thanks! You think more muscle will really help?

Bumping

Katem99 - yes that is why I give myself 150. I am feeding about 4x per day still and my son is 8.5 months old. I used to feed a lot more so I know I am not burning what I was at the start. Thanks for your help!

By the way, thanks all for your help. I just switched to .5 lbs a week and i already feel like i'll be able to stay in the green. If anyone wants to be friends, please add me!

Ha ha! I know! I just don't like seeing only 800 calories left after lunch. It doesn't seem like enough to get me through afternoon with kids, dinner for kids, 2 kids bedtimes, my own work, cleaning, etc! And i am not a single mom, props to those women, but my husband works a lot. I am grateful but i don't know how people…

Ok so maybe this is true. I am not letting myself eat enough and then go overboard bc i feel deprived. I am going to switch to .5 lbs a week and see what happens!
-
Yes maybe not so much emotional eater but like after a long, hard day I lose will power around 3pm and i'll have some chocolate chips, but too many on purpose, then when my kids eat at 5 i pick on their food or am legitimately hungry and start eating but continue to eat more when mu husband gets home and then after dinner…

Thanks Katem999...i appreciate your feedback. You might be right. Also maybe I am too tough on myself day to day. Sometimes I have to have a couple indulge days in order to get serious for a couple days more. Does that happen to you?
-
I know that is how it works but what I am getting at is what kind of awakening did you have that made you think - it's worth it. I guess right now, day to day, i don't have a strong enough desire to lose.
-
You can do it!

I am 8 mos postpartum and still have 5lbs to go. Not a lot but the last 5 are soooo hard. I struggle at night and also snacking while my kids eat. What are your goals? What are your trouble times?
-
But how do i motivate myself to stay under. I always let myself go over by just enough not to gain but to maintain. It's like a mind game!

LNS - 13 ME- 1 I finally had my first good day! I guess i haven't been trying that hard. The way I will do it will be only snacks allowed if still in the green.
-
Snacks that fill me up: popcorn, Fage greek yogurt with peanut butter and/or cereal mixed in, sometimes a quest protein bar, lots of veggies sliced up with a low cal dressing. Also eating this with a diet soda, sparkling water or coffee seems to help with the fullness factor.

How old are you? Are you on birth control pills? I had horrible constipation and gas pains for years while I was on the pill. Went to see different docs, tried miralax, fiber, enemas, everything. Then i went off the pill and everything went back to normal and has been fine for 4 years since I have been bc pill free. I…

Ok I'll try this for September! My goal for September is to lose 5 more lbs so I need some new ideas and motivation. My plan is a snack is allowed only if I stay in the green!! I have to stick to that. So far - Me: 0 LNS: 3 Sept goal- lose 5 lbs

I know people on here say you can't build muscle on a deficit and I get that but I don't lose weight as quickly when I add strength workouts to my mix, even when everything else is the same. I also do Barre classes and love the way my body looks & feels because of it but I get frustrated too when I don't see lbs coming off…
-
Oh yeah, that is way too time consuming!
-
Yes exclusively breastfeeding. I have read that it can burn around 500 calories a day and since my son still nurses a lot I give myself 400 extra calories but have been doing that in MFP. Thanks, PeachyCarol, for chiming in on this discussion!
-
About your last comments above- why log exercise in Fitbit? Currently I am breastfeeding a 3 month old and I have been logging it as "exercise" on MFP. I also log my Bar Method workouts in MFP. Should I be doing this differently? Thanks. You are so helpful!
-
Thank you!

Something is off with my fitbit again. I walked more steps today than yesterday (it's 10:45pm) and it's subtracting 117 activity calories whereas yesterday when I walked less it gave me 28 extra calories to use. Why could this be happening??
-
Oh my, thanks so much to you and all the posters! I will read through all of this and adjust. I love numbers so want to get this right!
-
Thanks! I just turned it off. On days that I walk over 10k, it only gives me about 50 extra calories. Does that sound right to you? Is it because I am logging exercise in mfp? Or because i have Lightly Active in my profile?
-
Good advice. Do you know where to adjust syncing? Too bad I can't eat more!
-
How do I change that setting? Thanks!

Great reminder!
