  • I really like the Map My Run app. It's free, gives you your split times, etc. I believe Nike also has one, and a lot of people use Runkeeper.
  • I'm in just for the JT gifs. :)
  • Happy happy birthday!!!
  • I'm on my 2nd cup of coffee and it still requires a re-read. So far I'm getting that it's not as easy as one would think to shrink oneself. ;)
  • I think "motivation" is a fuzzy concept. If I waited until I was truly feeling motivated to go to work, um, I'd be in bed right now. If I waited until I was truly motivated to pay my bills, um, I'd be homeless. Sometimes it's not about waiting for that particular feeling, but making things a habit, tricking yourself into…
  • I had pre-eclampsia with my first (and was induced immediately when I showed signs with my second). With the first it just sneaked up on me literally overnight. I had a checkup on a Thursday, all was fine. Sunday night I couldn't sleep, was up all night with itchy legs, googled it Monday and went in to the OB and was…
  • I had to log in from home to see the pictures. Amazing work! I'm so glad to have you on my FL. :flowerforyou:
  • Just reiterating the need for a food scale. I was amazed at how much I was underestimating my calories by just relying on whichever random calorie count came up when I entered a food into the MFP database. For example, bananas. A large banana can have up to 250 calories in it. I see that you've recorded bananas in your log…
  • Yep. And here I was thinking she just had some weird conspiracy theory thing going on... ;)
  • I'd already contacted Olivia about it and just forwarded my most recent pm from Janebshaw. Out of fairness I thought I'd try to give her a chance to explain. Best I can tell she was run over by a Crossfitter in a previous life and has made it her mission in this current life to wipe out the sport completely. ;)…
  • Just for giggles, I joined the group last night. Sure enough, about 30 minutes later I got a pm from Janebshaw. I feel so fulfilled. ;)
  • Unadulterated love.
  • Glad you're figuring out what works for you. :) I was pacing in the den the other night trying to reach my step goal for the day. My 6 year old started throwing his stuffed gorilla at me as I walked by him each time, and it turned into a game. A combination sprint/dodgeball dodge the gorilla kind of a thing. I'm thinking…
  • any chance of extending this to Tuesday???
  • Fitnessblender.com also has tons of great FREE video workouts that don't require weights or equipment.
  • I think it's difficult to give an accurate answer to this question without knowing how much exercise you're doing currently, what kind of exercise, how frequently, how active you are during the day, and how many calories you were eating before you decided to do 1400.
  • don't forget bug spray...
  • Cursing in front of children I think is just low class. Cursing AT children is definitely verbal abuse. Kids learn what we teach them. I had a client once who was explaining to me, in all sincerity, that no matter how much he beat his son, he just couldn't seem to get the son to stop beating up his sister.
  • have you seen this? http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 (There is a revised version, but I was too busy to search through a million threads to find it - this one is basically the same)
  • ^^^ this last part. I am a trained professional but I did not sign up on this site to be anyone's counselor. I do not believe there's anyone on my FL who has an active ED. My FL goal is to surround myself with positive, supportive people who eat healthy, exercise, and whose goals are to be stronger and healthy. Not people…
  • Sweet Jesus. Please, please show this thread to someone in real life. This is not a game. We are not jealous. We are not (insert whatever justification comes to mind to rationalize everyone's concern). You. Can. Die. From. This. You had the courage to confess to virtual strangers that you're concerned about yourself.…
  • The studies haven't been fully analyzed yet on Oreos, but I'd be willing to volunteer for the next round. Although I'd prefer Twizzlers...
  • Hi. First of all, be proud that you're admitting that something may be wrong. I am a mental health therapist (in real life) and unfortunately, even though you're not able to recognize it yet, you are actually suffering from an eating disorder. There is such a thing as exercise bulimia…
  • Oh, how nice are you???? What a great sister. Back in the dark ages when I taught aerobics, every Saturday I taught 3 classes back to back, totaling almost 4 hours of a workout. (Could be why my parts all be broken now ;) ). I used to drink one of those recovery drinks to get me through and that would hold me pretty well.…
  • I've always heard that if you have limited time and you have to choose, to go with lifting over cardio. You can always fit in a quick HIIT workout at home and squeeze it in on a non-gym/lifting day. Fitness Blender has some good quickie HIIT workouts. Strength work will most likely get you to your goals quicker than cardio…
  • I too would want to split this up to different days. You want to have enough energy to give good effort to your workout, versus taking it easy through your weights workout so that you have enough left over to get your cardio in. The object is to have quality workouts, not just long workouts.
  • I do believe that you have your plan figured out by now. I just wanted to pop in and give a virtual hug for the job situation. How unbelievably stressful that must be. :flowerforyou: Hopefully you get swooped up by someone bigger and better, offering better pay. ;)
  • Will do. And I will. :) The "God no" breastfeeding response was because I spent about 3 years breastfeeding and it's nice to have my boobies all to myself now. :)
  • My diary is open, so feel free to poke through for ideas. Feel free to disregard the gummy bears. ;)
  • I'm not single but may as well be (husband gone M-F for work). I make big batches of things on Sundays (hamburger patties, chicken, etc.) and make up a batch of Tupperwares so that I can just grab and go in the mornings. I do a protein shake most mornings, bring all my food with me to work (I have a large lunch bag!) and…
