Having pcos and insulin resistance I know what it means to crave sugar. And I know what it means to stop eating it. In my worst wirhdrawal moments dates helped me to transition from sugary candy stuff to more natural to very low sugar. Thus way it's about two weeks and no headaches or shaky hands. Good luck!

Diluted vinegar rinse really helps to soften hair after hard water because it dissolves the calcium in the water. Jus make it your last rinse after conditioning, the easiest is out of a bottle.

I go with fenugreek seeds. I read about it and it's suposed to help with hormonal imbalances (and it does this trick for me -less pms for example). In India however they use it for beautiful hair. Either to wash or clean it with or by eating the seeds. I put one spoon full in a pan and bring it to a boil with half a cup of…

Technical issues... Read the post below ;-)

Lately I had to sort out a 12 year not-sorted-basement and I found a couple of old clothes and I was happy to see that I can fit in all of them (some are even too big...!) even in those that were always small and/or too tight! BUT I have a T-Shirt my sister made me for christmas. It's stretch but just a little bit too…

And sometimes over eating "helps" me feeling myself/my body by feeling my stomach and my boundaries... It makes me heavy (overweight by time and heavy for that moment) and this also helps in feeling grounded.

If you fell like fasting for good friday, do it. I think it is important to keep some of our traditions alive. Be it fasting for a day or a month or having certain foods for special occasions. Go for it! And for your '"concerned" friends you can call it "intermitttent fasting" ;-) And after that: happy easter and enjoy the…

I saw on your profile that you struggle with pco and thyroid issues, this might be the key. Especially if you're also Insulin resistant. For me it's only once a day i bit to fast up in my glucose levels and my hormones start a "too much glucose-too much insulin-starving-circle". The only thing I can do then is eat some fat…

Yes, chocolate cover katie's sweet hummus or chick peas cookie dough or black bean brownies.... mjammm

Thank you! Yes - the realistic about the activity level problem. I might need some help in that, too... I find it so hard to define. Maybe I should open a new thread. Or maybe someone in here can help me. I just don't want to steal tsta's thread ;-)

I'm just adding in a few more questions: How can I know my TDEE? I know I can calculate it. But still.. it's not MY real one. And if my body is used to too few Calories my weight goes up, when I up my Cals, to my calculated TDEE and then I'm back at the beginning? And, ya Noor, what do you mean by "Wait for sure, until…

If it's THAT time of the month... chocolate! ;-) Sometimes I can do with a hot chocolate (milk and cocoa powder, no sugar added) and I'm fine. And sometimes I need real dark (85-90%) chocolate. And I learned to give it to me... because I love carrots and I love cottage chefs and I love celery and hummus and all that stuff.…

I know those days too. And I don't always know what it is. Sometimes it's the day before TOM starts (this IS hormonal). Sometimes it's more related to my Insulin Resistance after having eaten something that gives me a high blood sugar. Sometimes it's days when I just teach (dance) more (= more exercising = I need more…

It depends a) on your goal and b) on your general state of health. So about a) - is it being slim or skinny or thin or whatever you want to call it? Then it's just about calories. - do you want to be healthy/fit/conscious about environment etc? Then it's also about macros, exercising and going…

HI Marfy sorry to read the news about your Grandma and I wish you and your family all the best for the next few days. This said: find out what you really crave and get it. Emotional eating is mostly because there is a need for something (often love or being seen or acknowledged) and someone didn't find another way to…

Never heard about it. I had to google it and found this http://pcosdiva.com/2012/09/what-is-glucorein-pcos/ sounds pretty interesting and goo. I wonder if I can buy this in europe. And I'm really interested in how you feel with it!

I do not get your actual schedule and the math. But I know that I need more fuel when I sleep less. Some of this is really used, because I "do" stuff in that time and don't just lie in my bed. Some of it is because my body does not get the energy from sleeping and asks for it from food (those make me lose less or worst…

I don't run and it's usually only 2 days I'm really bleeding a lot. BUT: I'm a dance teacher and need to teach also those 2 days per month ;-) This said, I usually use tampons and sometimes a safety pad. I change the tampon every hour or more (as soon as I feel it move down - it hurts). And I don't know where you live but…

no salt and no vinegar (acid) until they are more or less cooked. The baking soda helps to make them softer faster (but then they tend to overcook...) good luck!

YEEEAAHHH! Man, congratulation! That's great! I got drunk last week and I could resist Mc Donalds (because I don't like that food) but I couldn't resist some potato cheese balls they were serving in that bar... my NSV? I ate only half of the serving... ;-) but still... when I drink (and if it's only one glass of wine) I…

It's important to change and rotate that color and size coding scheme to confuse your stomach muscles: so you have a rotation during your week and a rest day. But it's important that you stick to it every week the same. Don't change that!

I had to google "ghetto booty" and urbandictionary told me: ghetto booty: a big booty that when you turn your back people say damn thats a nice *kitten*! So - why exactly do you want to change this? ;-)

For us pcos-ladies linseeds are super important. They help with the hormones and keep your bowel moving. For me it works best to have about 10g soaked over night (or up to 24hrs) first in the morning! And yes keeping carb intake low... But... High fat? Without a gall bladder... As other said... Maybe just go back, to what…

I love oatmeal. But first in the morning with insulin resistancy it's not doing me any good. But I found out, that I can eat it as a second breakfast (I usually do some protein shake as first), if I put in old fashioned oat, some linseed or ground nuts , cook it with water and mix it with about the same amount of greek…
