Thanks OP. I appreciate your post!

Was in the gym on the elliptical at 3:30 a.m. until 4:30 a.m. followed by upper body strength training :)

Yep. I've been in that exact situation. At my highest I was 260 something.....then got down to 244 gained the 20 back then got down to 220 gained 20 back and the cycle has continued throughout the 70 pounds I have lost. What works for me is getting back into an exercise routine. For me that is always easier than the food…

I am an early riser as well. I am up by 3:30-3:45 a.m. and at the gym by 4 a.m. for an hour of cardio and 45min-1hour of weights. I also enjoy knowing that the rest of the day is all mine. Plus my husband and kids don't miss/need me at that time of day!

WTF do you look like? Give me a break.

A major thought that I kept in the back of my head during my weight loss journey was "What's the alternative." I mean really, give up and do what? Get bigger and then be more depressed and hate how you look (even more) and possibly get all kind of diseases? I mean as long as you are trying it will eventually come…

Yeah I did but it also felt like too much to feel like I was dang near dying walking up a flight or stairs or getting up from a sitting position or bending etc. Losing weight is hard, maintaining your weight is hard and remaining overweight is hard. Just pick which hard you prefer.

Effing amazing!

Sure, while I was on my weight loss journey I had people doubt that I could do it or tell me flat out that I couldn't do it. I just had to develop a mindset that I can't please everyone so I am going to please myself. And look at it this way, your dad or whoever is probably going to have something to say when you do meet…

As someone else said, it depends on how much weight you have to lose. Having said that, yes it is possible it depends on how hard you are willing to work for it.
-
Just start tracking your food, whether you go over or under or whatever. I would just consistently do it and get in the habit of doing it, that in and of itself should eventually get you to the point where you want to consistently meet that goal. As far as exercising, I would find something that I like to do and just do it…

You can lose weight without ever exercising (I wouldn't recommend it though). Weight loss is strictly about whether or not you are consuming enough calories to maintain your current weight. If you are not then you will lose weight. So keep your calories in check and exercise when you are able to. Eventually the workouts…

Motivation comes and goes. Make sure that you have concrete reasons for doing this that you can turn to when you don't necessarily feel like doing it. Beyond that, you just have to do it. Set up routines that you may have to force yourself to do until they become habit. You can do it.

Funny, I find myself thinking the same things in regard to weight maintenance. I know I need to up my calories to maintain my weight but I also have the fear that I am eating too much to level out. Great advice from everyone here.
-
You don't keep from being discouraged, or feeling guilt from eating too much or skipping exercise etc. etc. etc. You just keep on keeping on. Don't focus so much on how you feel, instead focus on what you know. You know if you keep doing what you are supposed to....eventually you will get to where you need to be.
-
Yep this is how you do it!
-
My advice is that you keep on tracking whether you feel like you need to or not. 2lbs in a month may not seem like a lot but over the course of a year that is a lot of weight. I am trying to maintain my weight and have no plans to stop monitoring my food and exercise for at least another year (and that is only if I feel…

My husband is the same way that your husband is when it comes to bringing home all kinds of junk food, fast food, liquor etc. but I don't look at it as though he is trying to sabotage me. He is just doing what he has always done (since before I lost the extra weight). I am the one who went on the diet and decided to lose…

I love that quote. NEVER GIVE UP! My mother is in the process of losing weight and she frequently talks about what she hopes will happen or what she wishes will happen. I always remind her that it is not what you hope or wish, it is what you get up and dedicate yourself to day in and day out that will be! LOVE IT!

I don't know how to explain it other than it feels like a high when I am working out....like I am on drugs or something lol. It sure didn't feel that way 75lbs ago though ... :)

I am a Weight Watchers member who met my WW goal today. Feel free to add me.
-
I did it and it was amazing for weight loss. I followed Eat Stop Eat.
-
I used to ask myself "What's the alternative?" give up and get fatter? That thought helped me lose 75+lbs.
-
I think this is so true. I am at the very top of the healthy BMI range and would be happy to weigh 8-9 lbs less and people are telling me I'm so small when in all reality if I were to gain two pounds I'd be overweight but like everyone is saying, when 20-30 lbs overweight is what you are used to seeing everywhere, a person…

II thought I would be happy at my goal weight of 169 (I'm 5'9") just because it was within the healthy range of the BMI scale. Also because I couldn't ever remember being this weight. But now that I am here, I think that I would like to lose ten more pounds to be somewhere in the middle of the BMI range and be able to…

I would like to lose weight with a group of supportive people around me but unfortunately that didn't happen for me. Initially people were very excited to hear about the changes that I've made and I am sure that even now that I've lost the weight they are proud...some even motivated to lose weight as well (I've lost about…
