Electrolytes are really only good for you if you work out a whole lot (or if you are really sick) . A nutritionist told me that most people who drink gatorade when they work out, really don't need it. In fact it will only add extra calories. I think you would be better sticking with water.

Well I know that carbs are what give us energy, but at the same time just make sure all of your other nutrition needs are met. (calcium, vitamin d., amino acids, ect.) If you are doing that, then I think it's ok. Still double checking with your doctor is probably a good idea. :)
