Once I decided it was time to quit I ran a 5K race. First couple of weeks was tough but it got easier each and everyday. I still dream of smoking from time to time, but it is my real goal of running the marathon this October. Plus I have never felt better than now.

I couldn't agree more!!!! Heck, I followed a woman on Sunday. We were running in a Half marathon and that wonderful tight bottom got me through the first nine miles!!!! If I could only keep up with her I would have thanked her for the support she gave me! :)

Since I started depending on it for the stress release after work. Maybe a month or two? Now if I don't exercise after work I am grouchy for the rest of the night. I am the same way ^^^^^^ Love to run and can't get enough. Just bought a new bike and ready to use that also.

Good point here. Now that I am back to running and have logged a few miles under my belt, my calories per hr has dropped slowly. As for the max heart rate, with myself being 48, my max HR should be 172, which I go over all the time. (220-age=Max HR) Just my opinion

I am right there with you except on the other side. I am trying to convince my wife to eating healthy by explaining how unhealthy things are that is being served to our children. The first time I went to the gym, I just sat in my car thinking it was a start. HAHA!!! I now go to the gym everyday and I am training for a Half Marathon and Marathon in October. Keep up the great work!!!
