I go everyday - once in the morning. That's my normal. Sometimes I take a dump at work too.

Do you listen to Metallica all day?

Thanks for sharing. Will try over the weekend.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly but why would a performance not matter for training irrespective of beginner, intermediate or elite. Are you suggesting "general training" cannot be gauged by performance and that performance is only restrictive to "elites"?

Deb, you really need to do what's best working or you. What works for someone else it's not necessary it will make you feel in a comfortable situation. There are certain foods I do not buy b'coz 1) Their calorie content and amount I can fit in my daily content is not worth. 2) I save money.

I would have LOL'ed at your comment but at this time not really. Brought back bad memories. We never found his body. Indian Military helped us a lot but it was a lost battle. The snow storm that soon followed made it very difficult.

My cousin wasn't a vegan and he died climbing Mount Kangchenjunga from the same exact condition - altitude sickness. I don't understand what you are trying to prove here but good luck trying to convince yourself or anyone certain diets can lead one to death at climbing Mount Everest. It's Mount Everest for crying out loud…

Congrats on your upcoming marriage! You mentioned "I'm also seeing my mother in two weeks, which is an added source of stress" Can you express this to your mom? If I were you I would start a polite conversation. If you haven't told her she doesn't know and that is not fair for both of you. I had an aunt who always focused…

I was on Paleo for almost one year. I missed on all my favorite foods besides I barely could focus on weight loss. However one thing I would acknowledge - it taught me the importance of nutritionally dense foods. Not Paleo but that period when I was following that lifestyle I realized in the end Calorie Deficit plus 80%…

Honestly I think it depends where one would be living .... If I lived in a big city and ran around downtown with red light after every 1/2 a block heck I would want to "bounce" up and down do flip flops and or whatever it takes to not stop :p However if I lived in country or in suburbs with light after every 10 miles heck…

This ... This is a kind of thoughts your future guy should have. Throw the nutcase out of your life. Make him your ex.

Your answer here in bold why you are not seeing same or better performance. You have an extra weight to carry for every exercise you are doing. If you are comparing your "best #s" to when you were tinnier than you are now it makes sense.

I weigh before and after pee. It's pretty interesting. Never tried before after poop. ;-) OP, I weigh everyday. I'm most comfortable that way.

Is weight loss your goal? I'm going to assume it is but here is my husband's trick - chewing gum. He always carries a packet of chewing gum with him and as soon as he gets the urge he takes one out. This has helped him a lot to stay away from eating something sweet just for the heck of it.

@mistress8956 - I second the flow chart. It explains nicely. I also quickly glanced at your diary and try to stay away from cups and spoon measurements. Also I stick to weighing in "grams" unit for solid food as much as I can. Good Luck.

First time I listen to their "woo". Second time I walk away as soon as they start their "woo". That's when they get the message. Thus there never is a 3rd time. ;)

Thank you so much.

I have been using this food scale since 2012 that I bought from Amazon. No Complaints. Only thing I had to change were batteries. The scale has a low battery feature too. Superb. Wishing you all the best OP in your future goals. What a transformation!

Seriously. Be a little humble man. We know you are a PhD at this. There s a time when everyone starts at A. OP, it's a habit, a lifestyle you have to build. Ask yourself a question "When was the last time I did this". If the answer is "Never" just keep doing and honestly you'll get good a it. But give it a time.
