hi, I know how you feel. My husband of 29 years died 6 days ago after a 20 month battle with lung cancer. I am so sad. I gained 30 pounds during his illness, but now I am not as hungry. I've decided to start logging in again to see if I can lose some of the weight I've gained. I'm hoping I can channel some of my sadness…

Sorry it's taken me so long!!! My computer is down and I can't put my numbers in on my tablet!

I'm very happy! I'm down 2 for a total of 3 pounds in 20 days. It will be slow, but it will be done! For those of you who gained! Keep going. You can do it! I gained 3 pounds my first 2 weeks (I started before the group)

Very good post. Keep going everyone!

I lost a pound, but I know that starting an intense exercise program can work against me at first. I'll be patient and keep at it! Good job to everyone!

I go to the gym and do the elliptical machine. I am also just trying to be more active at home. Doing light housework etc... (but I never count those calories). I have no problem exercising, but I never get full so watching the food intake is tough.

I like the 10 day idea too!

Hi My name is Polly. I am 50 years old and weigh about 200 pounds right now. I gained about 30 pounds since November 2013. This year has been rough for me, but I'm ready to let go some of my stress and start thinking about taking care of my health.

I have a million recipes for my protein powder. Like the poster above, I usually add small amount of frozen fruit and some sugar free pudding mix. You can also add extracts. I love french vanilla shake from Trader Joe's, vanilla sf pudding mix, frozen pineapple, and a couple of drops of coconut extract. Delicious!! some…

I tried for years to get my husband to join me. When that didn't work, I tried to get him to support me. When that didn't work, I tried to get him to leave me alone. When that didn't work, I pretty much gave up. Last year, he was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes and high cholesterol. The Dr. sat him down and said, "You're…

I have one cup frozen diced potatoes (fried up with a little spray), 1/2 cup fat-free refried beans, 1/3 cup scrambled egg whites and 2 Tablespoons salsa. It's really good, filling, and a little different. Calories are approximately 250

Just my 2 cents based upon my experience: Obviously, your experience will be different and you should make decisions based upon your health. I had my gallbladder out yesterday at 11:00 am! Yesterday was tough and I was in a lot of pain, but today I'm already feeling better. I had occasional gallbladder pain for one year.…

I just feel like you don't appreciate me. I do so much and all I want is a thank you once in a while. Is this too much to ask? Nevermind, I'm fine.

Yes!!! Keep walking and up the intensity as you lose weight. When you can, add resistance training. Walking will help you: **lose weight **lower your blood pressure (mine went down to low normal walking 20 minutes a day) ** help your mood ** help you sleep There are so many benefits to walking. If this is all you can do…

My daughters are 26 and 24. Since the age of 5 they were required to always have a sport. It could be dance, cheer, or any sort of physical activity. They never questioned it. They both ran cross country and track in high school. I got a lot of crap from friends and family for MAKING my kids do a sport. I was told they…

I worked at a temp/recruitment agency for one year. Age and appearance matter. At the place I worked there was a code for discrimination. Fat people didn't have 'enough energy'. Old people were 'over qualified'. Ugly people weren't "front office'. It's horrible.Obese applicants need to compensate by being perfectly dressed…

^^^^^^^ This is it for me. I don't know how to use the weights and I'm afraid of being teased or yelled at by some stranger.

I have always been the 'fat friend' or the 'funny best friend'. For some reason, I have always attracted these blonde bombshell type girlfriends. Maybe because I'm not jealous or attention seeking. I have no problem being the sidekick and I'm happily married since 1986. In 2012 I began working out. Mind you, I didn't lose…

My goal is to live 6-9 months out of the year in San Francisco and 3-6 months in Berlin, Germany. I LOVE San Francisco! It's so much fun and there's so much to do. I also love Berlin!

You have 6-7 hours left in your day!. Run in place, march, dance, do the stairs--spend at least 1 hour moving. Have a light dinner with lots and lots of veggies and lean protein (400-500). Good luck!

My name is BigGoal50. Seven years ago I was recruited by a secret branch of the CIA called SD-6. I was sworn to secrecy but I couldn't keep if from my fiance. And when the head of SD-6 found out...he had him killed. That's when I learned the truth. Sd-6 is not part of the CIA. I'd been working for the very people I thought…

I struggle with this too! I look in the mirror and think, "Lookin' gooooood". but the scale says "obese". The best way to see yourself is to look at pictures. About 8 years ago, my sister took a picture of me and put it on a slideshow at my niece's birthday party. I almost didn't recognize myself! Since then, I have kept…

Hi! I"m Hypo since 2006. It's tough sometimes! Definitely monitor your levels AND your symptoms. I had very high numbers but my results were still in the "normal" range, However, my symptoms were horrible. I was falling asleep while sitting up and losing hair by the handfuls. I had a sluggish metabolism, dry skin and…

I thought the post was funny  I didn't get any mean-spiritedness from it just more of an "ooooohhhhhhh man, it's that time of year again." I've been a gym member for years but last January after my dh was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, we both became serious gym goers. I haven't lost any wieght but I'm in a lot…
