  • Go to the gym for a while and run on a threadmill, no thinking necessary there. Start slowly say 8.5k/h and then each week increase this with speed and distance. Once comfortable move outside and you find you run a lot faster outside.
  • http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basal_metabolic_rate If you have the time, my previous comments were I bit simplistic... :-) On the other hand it is not something to worry about as long as you way yourself the same time, may that be once a day, once a week or once a month or whatever works for you, the trick us to have the…
  • Pretty well most answers are wrong, some maybe only 90%. We all have a BMR=Basic Metabolic Rate, mine 1836calories. This means the amount of calories you burn doing nothing at all, which for me is 76.5 calories per hour. So over 8 hours I would burn up 612 calories, which for most people (not me) is more then their daily…
  • Wow this is a difficult one. If it was me then I would go for tough love and lay it all out. However instead of confronting him I would write it all down, leave it for him and go away for a weekend which gives him time to think about it. In it I would say how much you love him but that you can not stand by and let him…
  • I kind of do that, when I have friends over or see friends. Generally Saturday and Sunday we share a bottle of wine. However I would still exercise and am very careful during the day. However most weekends I gain 2 kg, which I will loses again during the week and then some ( generally 1/2 a kilo). I am happy to trade that…

  • Maybe at the end of this challenge we could up the number as I pretty well am over 10000 strips every day I did not join, but 1.5 or 2 million would certainly one I join or better make them monthly as it would be easier for people to jump in or out. Not really trying to be negative here as I think if is fantastic fir…
  • I do that all the time. In my eyes not a problem, obviously it depends on how much you are over as on those type of days weighing food and marking everything down often goes out the window. I learned how my body worked my weighing myself when i was naked 3 times a day. First thing in the morning After gym Just before bed…
  • I know what I am going to say a lot of people will not agree with, however I found that I had the best success when I knew what was happening with my body and how food and exercise influence it. So I weighed myself 3 times a day. 1) First thing in the morning 2) After exercise 3) Before going to bed. Those 3 times i was…

  • Sorry all for I went missing in action. Blame it on my holiday in between which was usual weird for me as I kept losing while I was away. Then when i started exercising the weight started to come back on. At the same time suddenly an insane amount of people told me how good I looked, this then combined with a lot of social…

  • Happy to see you all doing well. My downward trend has come to a halt and there are a few reasons for this. I also did not post last week, 1) My body when I stop exercising keeps losing weight, which happened when I went on holidays but then when I get back it puts on weight. I think it has to do with losing muscle and…

  • Hi All, Obviously I am very exstatic this morning as I now have seriously broken down that horrible wall with stopped me twice before, I also reached my original goal of being under 85kg, but I already reset that some time ago to be under 80kg. I survived the weekend and actually lost weight over the weekend, however I had…

  • Thanks Skim and thanks for the nice message earlier on. I guess I don't find it that hard as a lot of gym work is cardio (do weights 3/4 days a week as well) and get 10,000 steps there alone. Then the rest of the day I do easy 4-5000. Then if I play tennis golf or soccer my count goes up even higher. Yesterday was indeed…

  • I have had a fantastic week. After 7 months of trying I finally got to my lowest weight yet and confident it will go lower. I smashed my PB for the 5km by over 4 minutes to 29.33. I am trying to run the marathon in June although the chance has gone up I still only rate it 15% as I have troublesome calves (and to a lesser…
  • I am aiming 20.000 steps as average, so far this month 139.005, but still playing indoor soccer tonight so I will be up by an other 5000 , so so far so good. :-)
