I'll start out with Shape Shifting.

The maps are generated on the www.freemaptools.com website. I just screen capture them and use paint to put in the text. I use the "radius around a point" tool, the "how far is it between" tool, and the "save route on map" tool. I'm also keeping a spreadsheet of the data. I am pretty sure that the freemaptools.com site is…

Thanks Adam. I've just uploaded the second part of my journey in my blog; so, if you want to see where I am now, just check it out. Be sure to give it at thumbs-up if you like it.

Depends on what's chasing them. :p

You'll want to use some sort of cardio exercises for the most calorie burn. Use whatever machine(s) get your heart pumping the best and can help you hold the heart rate up there for the 30 minutes. I find that the Arc Trainer or Elliptical work best for me. They tend to be easy to maintain a pace that keeps my heart rate…

You have to get a metric scanner. :p

I started out last May with about 100 lbs to lose. I've lost 43 so far and am pushing to my goal for June. Add me if you're serious and want to have some fun on the journey.

They used to have a map on the wall where I used to work where they had circles marked with miles where you could see how far you would have gone if you were tracking miles walked. That was when I worked at a facility with a large indoor manufacturing floor where people walked laps around the isles. They also had it…

My best choices: 1. Rent an RV and tow-behind Jeep. Hit the road for a 2-week road trip: Grand Canyon, Rocky Mtn National Park, Northern CA, Yellowstone NP. 2. Houseboat on Lake Meade for 2 weeks. 3. Alaska / Canada Road Trip (Like #1 above)

I'm doing much the same thing . . . doing strength training while losing weight. I'm no expert, but from what I've read on the subject the number of reps you should do depends on what you are trying to accomplish. My understanding is that lower reps with higher weight builds strength; whereas, higher reps with lower weight…

The only way I can see where counting calories would be bad for you is if you were counting too high.

I used to drink several Coke Zero's a day. I've since cut them out and on the infrequent occasion when I drink soda, I find that they are too sweet and syrupy tasting. I would tend to agree with the idea that one Diet Coke a day probably won't directly affect your weight loss due to the 0 or 1 calorie that they contain;…

With our kids, we just did something easy like apple slices and things like that. It's quick and easy and most kids like apple slices. You do the slicing and let him dip them in some pineapple or orange juice to keep them from turning brown.

Your goal can be whatever you want it to be. Obviously, if you lose that much weight, you'll be much healthier than you are now at your current weight. I'm doing something similar. My ideal is in the 180-195 lbs range. I'm realistically targeting somewhere around 210-215 where I think I'll be happy. My son is the same…

I'm another fan of the portion control diet. I'm on a journey to loose around 100 lbs and have currently lost about 30 of it. I even had a Dairy Queen Blizzard yesterday like the above poster. I've tried other diets such as Sugar Busters, Atkins, etc. and found that they are hard to maintain as well as expensive and hard…

1) Jarts, we didn't need them. We had a bow and arrows instead. We also used to play "chicken" by tossing open pocket knives to stick in the ground between each others' feet to see who would chick out first. 2) Definitely . . . we never wore seat belts util it became the law. I, too, remember being in the back of the truck…

I do. My opinion is mine alone. But. . . I've never seen a perfect child who has never thrown a tantrum. Doesn't make the child or parents bad. Some kids, because of their disposition, are more likely to do it than others; but, all will in a given circumstance. Not saying that there aren't bad parents who have produced bad…

It runs in my family; so, I started really early. I had a gray area in my temple beginning at around 20 or earlier. It has migrated over the years to where I'm mostly silver now at age 47 and has been that way for years. My dad grayed similar to me. My grandfather on my mother's side had silver hair when I was a child. My…

Based on some of the responses to this thread, I must say: There are two kinds of parents in the world: 1. Parents who have a child that has acted bad in public 2. Parents who lie about their child/children never acting up in public. I must say that my kids are pretty good; but, they have made an *kitten* of themselves in…
