try kale, it's less offensive and is more nutrient dense. Also try adding some frozen fruit and make sure the bananas are over-ripe. My typical smoothie is: 1-2 handsfuls of kale romaine 10 cherry tomatos 10 grapes 10 baby carrots handful of mixed frozen fruit 1/2 banana 1 navel orange or clemetine 1 apple 1/2 avocado…

I think I would get the salad with NO cheese and dressing on the side. I eat out a lot, and most restaurants are pretty accommodating to requests like that.

Down 7lbs this month thanks to IPOARM! =)

I'm fairly new to this journey. And, I knew I wouldn't stick with it if I restricted entire food groups. I tend to particularly like "junk" food and carbs. So, cutting them completely out would just equal failure for me. So, I'm eating "normally". I've restricted the fast food to almost nil. I'm currently working on my…

In a word: yes. I've talked with my dr about it. I wouldn't call my exercise too intense though. I exercised regularly throughout my pregnancy (lots of cardio) as well. Again, all approved by my dr. My base calorie intake is 1440 cals per day, more if I exercise. I don't always eat back all my calories, but I do eat back…

I don't do artificial sweeteners. So, maybe it's just time to skip the soda (and deal with the caffeine withdrawal too).

I am not a medical professional. So, please take this for what it's worth. Textural issues or food aversions are becoming more and more common in children (I'm a child care owner/operator). I would suggest seeking some help with first your primary medical dr. I would give a brief overview about your struggles with textures…

I talked with my dr extensively about this because I have a 3mo and I'm trying to loose about 30lb. Anyway, he said that there is no evidence to support the need for extra calorie consumption while breastfeeding unless you are underweight. But, he did say that it was imperative to increase water intake (well above the…

I haven't tried them as an egg replacement. But, they will change the texture, I'm sure. They are like slimy snotballs (sorry, truth though) when you add water. I add to smoothies and crockpot oatmeal. In the crockpot oatmeal, they remind me alot of tapioca in tapioca pudding. I really doubt it would change the flavor…

try www.skinnytaste.com too. I've tried several of her recipes and they are all yummy! And, it's pushed me to try new recipes/foods that I otherwise wouldn't have even thought about (like the spaghetti boats on there. YUMMMM!!) I also like to check in here on days that I just really don't feel like exercising. I see…

skinnytaste.com I've tried her cajun pasta, homemade marinara, and the spaghetti boats so far. Delish!

I am not pregnant anymore (my almost 4mo is sitting beside me right now.) <3 Anyway, I just wanted to offer support. I did not know about this site when I was pregnant. But, I knew I wanted to keep my weight gain in check while I was pregnant. (I still hadn't lost the baby weight from my 3 prior pregnancies!) So, I…

love this! My first short-term goal was to loose 5lbs. Got that done!! Daily goals: find healthier, lower calorie meals/foods that I LOVE! (without using artificial sweeteners) exercise daily! My weekly goal is to exercise 6 days/wk. My first monthly goal is to reward myself with new shoes if I meet my 6 day/wk exercise…

I've set MFP as "lightly active" and I think that reflects my normal daily activity like vacuuming, dishes, picking up toys, laundry, breastfeeding. So, I only log my planned exercise for the day. (meaning exercise that gets me at my target heart rate.) That is a personal choice for me, and certainly not the only "right"…

You look FANTASTIC!! Thank you for inspiring ME to do my workout today. =)

have you tried to burn 1000cals a day? Holy crap! That's a pretty high bar to set. I can spend an hour doing circuit training each day and burn around 400cals, 45min of spnning is about 400-500cals. I guess it's possible. Just much more time intensive.

Simply.Amazing! You look so fabulous! And, I want to thank you for encouraging me to get my workout in this afternoon rather than waiting until this evening.

awesome thanks!

I weigh myself about every other day. But, I only record my weight each week (on Wednesdays). The fluctuation sort of drives me crazy, but it keeps me motivated. =)

Well, I'm new at this myself. But, i will say that I've found working those calories in helps me. I find I've been craving sweets. So, I've found some things that help curb my sweet tooth, but yet keep me under my calorie goal for the day. (skim milk with 1tsp of ovaltine, special K pastry crisps, chocolate fiber one…

Well, if you are doing Insanity, I doubt you'll find 30 Day Shred very challenging. And it probably won't tone you more than Insanity does. There are some weights involved and ab training. But, I've seen very little change in my abs. Have seen some mild muscle definition in my arms though. I actually like the tone trouble…

I have 4 kids. My youngest is 3 mos old. You *can* fit it in if you want to. My hubby works about 70hrs a week, and I work full-time. I workout 4-5x/wk. Because my hubby works so much, I usually can't get to the gym. So, I workout to DVD's at home. I have several Jillian Micheal's (30 day shred, no more trouble zones). I…

I tried to not stop. I slowed way down, and it kept getting worse. I seriously thought I would faint right there. I got off and put my head between my knees the first time. The second time, I stopped momentarily, then resumed at a very slow pace.

In order to keep loosing, you need to keep challenging yourself. So, I would really try to do both of them 2x per week to start, then bump up to 3x/wk. Your endurance will build up and you'll be feeling better and better! I do the 30DS plus another type of exercise several times a week. The first week, it was challenging…

Keep at it! I did it for the first time a few years ago. After the first week, it became easier (as in "I don't think I'm dying.") But, it's still challenging. I actually did level 1 for about 3 weeks because I was afraid of Level 2! Trust me, it's not that bad. Definitely more challenging, and I did need to modify a few…
