I wish you the best, I know you can do it! One thing that really has helped me lose weight is playing the Kinect. My son and I play the sports and Dance games and it really works. I burn calories and have fun doing it! Good luck!

Quinoa is a high protein grain that is versatile and easy to prepare. Similar to Couscous in texture.

I really like it. I eat it with fruit or celery. Sometimes I mix it with yogurt to make a fruit dip. It is awesome in smoothies and works great in recipes that call for peanut butter (like Pad Thai). Hope you like it as much as I do! PB2 is a Peanut butter made in Georgia from premium roasted peanuts that are pressed to…

Eight pounds is great!!!! I think according to MFP, you should lose 2 pounds per week eating 1200 net calories. You need a 3,500 calorie deficit to burn 1 calorie (which takes approximately 4.5 days on a 1200 net calorie diet). Some weeks I would lose 2-4 pounds, others I would not lose on ounce, and some weeks I would go…

I have twin toddlers and a school age child and I can totally relate. When I first started, the hardest part about dieting was not to grab a piece of cheese or a cracker off the afternoon snack plate. Once I started logging every single thing I ate (every goldfish, pretzel, cube of cheese) it got a little easier, because I…

Welcome! I joined in January to lose baby weight after having twins in 2009. This site was a great help! Good luck.

I eat Indian every few weekends and I usually order Paneer Tikka Masala. I eat about 1/3 of the order, go light on the rice (about 1/2 cup) and skip any of the breads (easier said than done, yummy!) It ends up being less than 400 calories total, not including beverages.

Here are some of the tips and tricks I use to add protein and iron into our mostly vegetarian meals: • Add endamame, chick peas or beans to salads and pastas for added protein and spinach to salads, pastas and soups for iron. • Quinoa is a wonderful grain that is gluten free and very high in protein. It is similar in…

Just finished lunch here! I had a salad with endamame, cucumber and green peppers as well as some homemade sushi. Yummy!

I started running recently. I started by running a 5K, walking when I felt I needed to. At first it was about half and half. Now, I can run the entire thing. Hope this helps and good luck to you.

Great job! You look fantastic!

Welcome aboard! This site is such a great resource for weight loss with a community that is always there to help. Using MFP has helped me lose weight, exercise more and has changed the way I cook and eat for the better. Good luck to you! I know you can do it!

I started in January and have lost 22 pounds. In the beginning I was about to burst out of size 14, now size 12 is almost too loose.

You look absolutely fantastic!!!!!

Welcome! I only just started in January, but so far it has been great. The diary really helps me stay on track, and when I start to slide, the great MFP members are there. I agree, make friends and check out the forums. You can do it! Good luck!

Here are a few things that have worked for me. • I plan my meals using the food diary a week in advance and stick to it. It helps me stick to my diet and gives me more variety in my meals as I am never rushed to figure out what to eat. • I measure out the food I eat to make sure I am getting proper portions. • I make sure…

I drink mate and green teas when I am hungry. That usually works for me. If not, I have a piece of baby bell light. Those little cheeses are remarkably filling. I have also noticed that if I have an apple, that will fill me up and keep me satisfied for a long time. (From what I have read, this has something to do with…

You should eat your regular calories. As for your exercise calories, that is heavily debated on this site. I usually try to eat about half of my exercise calories, though some days I eat all of them and some days I don't touch them at all. Sorry my answer isn't more precise. I hope it helps regardless. Good luck!

My three favorite breakfast are: • Egg Beaters Egg White Omelet with Spinach and Low Fat Cheddar (or Asparagus and Feta, depending what I have on hand). • Quaker Old Fashioned Oatmeal with 2 Strawberries (cut in fourths), 1/4 cup blackberries and 1/4 cup blueberries. • Yoplait Fiber One Vanilla Yogurt with 1/2 apple, 5…

I have had two c-sections (one less than two years ago). I had the flabby belly in a big way at my heaviest. But as I have lost weight, it has gone away. I don't have that perfect stomach of my youth, but it is getting better every day.

I am a little taller at 6'2", but my goal weight is 160. (Well a first-thing-in-the-morning-before-breakfast 160, which would be an after-I-have-eaten-all-day-and-drank-10-glasses-of-water 163).

I have a Kinect. I use the Workout mode on Dance Central. Burns calories and I have a lot of fun. Your Shape: Fitness Evolved is great too. It has a personal trainer section that is designed based on your wants and needs. Not high intensity, but a good workout all the same.

Does adding calories really work. I too have hit a plateau with only 7 lbs to go. I read an article posted here on MFP about changing the type of excercise I do or zigzagging caloric intake (http://www.diet-blog.com/06/5_ways_to_break_a_weight_loss_plateau.php). I have also read a number of posts about increasing calories…
