then yes, i think that's a pretty low maintenance for anyone, especially if you exercise regularly. I'd just stick with MFP and keep doing what you're doing now!
-
um... I meant BMR in all the places where I typed BMI!
-
I just looked at that site and used the healthy body calculator and the chart that is given is not your BMI but the calories you can eat to lose whatever weight goal you put in. The minimum amount of calories is 1200 so it won't go any lower. So, I wouldn't worry, I don't think it's your BMI that's 1200. I looked for a…

bump! too funny...finally had a 1 pound loss last week and I was at the beach and forgot to weigh in... hopefully this week will be the same and i get to post 2 of those suckers gone!! great work everyone!

Last week 189 this week 189 category: reduce group: getting rid of plenty hmmmm...not getting rid of any so far this challenge (well, if you include the 2 I went up and lost again, I suppose I've had some progress!). Next week i am determined that I will be posting a loss, even if it's just .5 of a pound. I need to get out…

Well, at least i'm back to where i was when i started this challenge~! Hopefully i don't spend the next few weeks losing the same 2 pounds again! Current Weight (As of today): 189 Challenge Goal Weight (for Sept. 1st): 170 Weight Category: GETTING RID OF PLENTY 6/9: 189 **start of challenge** 6/16: 191 6/26: 190 7/2: 189…

Another cold turkey here. Once i had the sugar thing under control and a good handle on calories in/out, i'm able to indulge once in a while and enjoy it...Skinny cow ice cream sandwiches are my favorites. Otherwise, desert for me now is fresh berries and 0% fat vanilla Greek yoghurt.

Vic, I know i've missed the cut-off, please do not worry about adding me to the chart, I can wait until next week for an update. Spent the day at the beach and forgot to login this morning. This is just to get it on record. Current Weight (As of today): 190 Challenge Goal Weight (for Sept. 1st): 170 Weight…

Hey there, feel free to add me as a friend. I'm on day 158 or something insane like that ... and at day 2 there was no way i thought i stay this committed. I'll be 50 in September and have (had!) 60-70 to lose and have lost over 30 now. It's been steady, then it's been slow...but it has been Slow and Steady and that's the…

Time to post my goals for this week! 1. Drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day 2. NO POPCORN at all this week! (come to think of it....no Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches either!!) 3. Drink MILK in my coffee and NOT CREAM (even if it is only 5% it's still 5% too much!) 4. ZUMBA at least 3x 5. Strength train at least…

Well, not a good start for me. For the first time in the 150+ days i've been on MFP, i'm posting a 2 pound gain (instead of losing or plateauing).. *sigh*...but there's always next week!...guess i'm going to have to spend a week or two catching back up to my weight from the end of the first challenge. I've not been…

bump...keeping the new MEAT challenge fresh on my topics!

Darn, I must have posted on the old thread, unless i'm totally blind and after 2 go-throughs of these pages I can't find myself! I'm sooo in for this next challenge. thank you so much for continuing with this new one Vic! Proud to be a 'Loser'!! Current Weight (As of today): 189 Challenge Goal Weight (for Sept. 1st): 170…

Congratulations to everyone who has stuck with the challenge - gain, plateau, or loss! It's the commitment that truly counts. I usually weigh in on Saturday (so haven't lost my weekly 'whatever' yet!), but since I just joined the other challenge with today's weight I might as well end this one with the same weight. Thank…

bump it up~!

Having just come back from my Zumba class I can so relate to #3 and #4! (except we have a clock and I try and stay forward in the class so i can't see it).
-
I love all of these so far. Mine: don't look at the clock, don't look at the clock, don't look at the clock, you know if you look at the clock you'll only have been working out for 10 minutes! My husband however doesn't think of funny things ... he's actually written a whole screenplay in his head while running for a…

WOOHOO a 3 pound loss since last posting!! That's my best ever! AND I'm out of the 190s!!! (of course i could be back in them tomorrow given the way i go up and down a pound for a week til it settles, but today I'll take it!) Hope everyone had a great week! Starting weight 3:21 - 204.5 Last week: 192.5 Today 6/4/11 189.5…

Popcorn! Is there really such a thing as ONE serving of popcorn???? (and this is a rhetorical question, I really do not want to know..LOL)
-
Thank goodness! i may just make my (revised) challenge goal after all!!
-
i felt exactly the same when i was down 20...it took til i was over 25 down to really see the difference in myself...i'm at 31 now and all of my jeans are baggy and i really do feel different, like my shape is changing with the healthy eating and exercise. i still have another 30 to go so sometimes i get bummed out because…

Wow! the final week...congratulations to everyone for staying the course! They say there's safety in numbers and I believe it must be true...having this challenge and all of you great people to see and follow every week has kept me safely on track..maybe not to hit my original goal...but then it was totally unrealistic…
-
Last week 193 this week 192.5 oh so slow. but i've hit 12 pounds (or almost) gone. Too funny that I set my original goal to be a 24 pound loss...i guess 2 pounds a week is not realistic...but an average of 1 per week is pretty steady. At this rate I'll have hit my goal for this challenge at the end of the next one! LOL.…

Just to add to my comment above, I just went to the pub-med article posted above and realized that it is a position statement from the ISSN, and not a systematic review, although what they have based their statement on when possible is the results of systematic review research so it is a fairly strongly supported…
-
Thanks for posting the results of a systematic review of the literature. For those unfamiliar with health research methodology, a systematic review is the result of an exhaustive search of the literature, followed by an analysis which takes into account the various types of studies being included (less weight given to…

What an amazing transformation! Well done!! You've just inspired my husband to start using MFP..he signed up when i did in January but has just been working out and not logging or using the site at all. He's losing and toning but very slowly. He looked at your pics and said 'wow, maybe i should really give that site a…

Mine too. I figure since I spend time on the boards that I should have it that way. It's a personal choice though whether people want to share. Ultimately we are accountable to ourselves.
