  • I need me some new friends! I was very active a few years ago and unfortunately most of my friends from that time are no longer regular loggers. 35 y/o, open diary, very loose macro counting 40/30/30.
  • Yep, I'm an overachiever and gained 20 :o I'm trying to be kind to myself about it.
  • I'm only 7 weeks PP and I'm eating at maintenance while letting breastfeeding create my deficit (I try to eat around 2000 /day right now but I do eat more if I'm hungry). I just started tracking within the last week, so im not sure if it's working yet. With my last baby my weight didn't budge at all until I weaned, but I'm…
  • Today I started out my day without planning my meals and got waaaay offtrack by lunch. But I logged everything, madr adjustments at dinner and then added an extra walk with my workout and ended up under for the day!
  • Always looking for friends here!
  • MFP SW: 196 CW: 174.8 Challenge goal weight: 155 Ultimate goal weight: 130-140
  • Hi everyone! I've been on mfp for about 3 years on and off but I've never done a challenge. I had lost about 40 pounds over a year and a half, but I let myself go and gained about half back. I'd like to lose this regained 20# by Christmas and then work on losing an additional 20 after the new year. I eat around 1500…
  • I like to pack overnight oats for the road. They travel very well. http://food52.com/blog/9844-how-to-make-overnight-oats-without-a-recipe Are you starting out from your home or traveling away for days at a time? I usually eat breakfast on my way to work. Some easy on the go meals: 2 waffles with peanut butter Protein…
  • I like the Nature's Way Metabolic Reset shakes for a meal replacement. Mixes nice with ice, almond milk and PB2 I like shakes for breakfast or a light lunch - mostly to help me meet my protein macro and for convenience sake - I definitely still eat real food.…
  • I like Nature's Way Metabolic Reset shakes - only tried chocolate so far but I just ordered Vanilla off Amazon. They have fiber in them and it really helps me with hunger. I thought the texture was pretty similar to Shakeology, especially since I like to use almond milk in them (That is my major complaint with 21DF. No way…
  • I'm on Day 2 of my second round. I did my first round in May and it was great. I lost 4 pounds and over 10 inches, and I've maintained nicely since then. I started another round on my own because my exercise was in a rut and my eating was going downhill. I have found that the 21 Day Fix actually fits nicely with MFP.…
  • Resetting your streak after forgetting to log in, ergo losing the streak, defeats the purpose of tracking the streak, doesn't it?
  • I will volunteer to mentor 29 yo female, 5'5" SW: 196 CW: 154 GW: 135-140 I started my journey when my youngest daughter was about a year old. I definitely had the"Aha" moment when I saw some holiday pictures - I had no idea I had gotten so big. I joined MFP, and started (inconsistantly) logging. After about 2 months I…
  • I used it for a month and I liked it, but I couldn't justify the cost. I like drinking a shake in the morning instead of breakfast (for convenience) and I really liked the consistency/taste when I blended it with ice. It also did fill me up, and helped me maintain my deficit. That being said, I now just buy a protein…
  • Today I was craving my favorite breakfast sandwich - usually 450 calories for egg, sausage, cheese, panini. So I subbed out regular sausage in favor of turkey sausage and egg whites for the eggs - and got the same sandwich for 300 calories :-D If I really have a craving for chocolate, or ice cream, or pizza I usually try…
  • It's all mental. Just renew your commitment to healthy eating/ calorie counting and move forward. For me it helps to remember that it takes 3500 calories OVER maintenance to gain just one pound. A bad day, or even a bad week isn't going to undo all the progress I've made.
  • I've gotten into the habit of having a shake most days for breakfast. I was doing a shakeology trial, and I liked it but the recurring cost was way too high for me. So I bought a few different powders and found out I really like Tera's Whey in the chocolate - I use 8oz almond milk, a cup of frozen strawberries, some extra…
  • First off, congrats on losing almost 50 pounds since October! That by itself is a huge accomplishment. My advice: 1. You aren't tracking consistently. There are a lot of incomplete entries in you diary. 2. Are you weighing and measuring or guesstimating amounts? Weighing is much more accurate 3. I'd incorporate more…
  • A calorie count below 1400 plus low fat and low protein would turn me into a raging hangry lady after 12 hours, much less a week.
  • If I'm not buying organic I can do groceries for a family of 4 (including a bottomless 10 year old boy) on about $130-150/week. If I buy organic meat/ fruits/veggies it is closer to $200/week. I'm in the NE US
  • Do we have the same husband? I know how hard it is when you don't have your spouse on board with you. My husband needs to lose about 100 pounds - he eats the food I have in the house, but then I see the credit card bills from when he goes out - Jimmy John's, Taco Bell, McDonalds, KFC... Anyway, I'd advise that you stop…
  • I usually eat back at least half, more if I'm hungry. I'm only on week 4 of my half training program though
  • I know how good that feels! Nice job!
  • For lunch for the week I like to make a huge batch of either rice and black beans or quinoa and beans - sometimes I add shredded chicken, lots of spices, hot sauce, cilantro, diced tomatos, chiles, shredded kale, broccoli....whatever I'm in the mood for. It's yummy hot or cold. I also make and freeze breakfast burritos for…
  • I LOVE running! I had no idea I would like it so much (and would NEVER have thought I'd be seen in public with running tights on). Plus I always look forward to my long run days as I usually eat at least half my exercise calories back ;-)
  • LOL! Modcloth.com - love that site!!! By request I did open my diary to public. I try and record everything but some days I don't quite make it to tracking dinner. I do a lot of batch cooking/freezer cooking from scratch so I have a LOT of recipes saved that you'll see throughout my diary.
  • Yes, I kept running. I ran another 5K in October and an 8K in November.
  • While doing C25K I lost maybe 6 pounds (this was before I got strict about tracking my food). I certainly felt better and had more energy, but it didn't do much for weight loss. After my first 5K I continued running regularly AND started tracking my food intake. I've lost about 25 pounds since that point. So if you're…
  • I am wearing the exact same dress in grey for my sister's wedding in July! You look great! congrats!
  • I made a smoothie today with 8oz almond/coconut milk, 2 cups kale, 1 cup frozen pineapple, 1 tbsp chia seed, and a small banana. Very yummy and came in around 330 calories total (I split it with my daughter). Sometimes I add greek yogurt to make them thicker. I almost always throw in kale. I tend to use them as…
