  • I think if you exercise plus eat good food, you will feel much, much better! They say weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise, but when I skimp on the element of exercise, I don't feel as strong, energetic, and happy. Exercise is huge! Even 15-20 minutes a day makes a difference. Cheers!
  • I work 7p.m.-7a.m., and this is how I set up my diary. I like to keep it the same, whether I'm working or not, because my schedule is all over the place. Breakfast 05-09 Snack 09-12 Lunch 12-15 Snack 15-17 Dinner 17-20 Snack 20-05 When I work, I log my "lunch", and any at-work snacks in the 20-05 Snack slot. If I sleep all…
  • Great information! Thank you for posting this. I'm almost to my goal weight, but may change it. I have some definition, but would like to lower my bf % even more.
  • Oh, I am so, so sorry for your loss. I have had 3 miscarriages, not as far along, but I know it does NOT help to hear people tell you "get over it", or "it was God's will", or "something must have been wrong to start with". You take as much time to grieve as you need, and however you feel fit. I'm glad you are reaching…
  • I use the general outline of the nutrition program, if that makes sense. I use Michi's ladder a lot in making food choices. It's easier for me to follow the Elite Nutrition guide for breakfast and lunch, but dinner is difficult, as I have to cook for my whole family. I usually use a recipe from Cooking Light, Healthy…
  • 5'8" and goal weight is 140-145
  • Not insensitive, but weird. One Christmas I received a single roll of paper towels with a single-serving package of Spam taped to it from my dad and stepmom. When I unwrapped it, my husband & I looked at each other like WTF? Was it meant to be a gag gift? Or maybe I'm a messy eater. I could go out of control with one slice…
  • My feet used to go numb on the elliptical all the time, and like a couple if the other posters, once I loosened my shoe laces it stopped happening. Do you wear different shoes to play soccer?
  • Yes! I just make a sink full of bleach water and let our cups soak overnight. It removes any staining, odor, mold, etc.
  • Mayo, Miracle Whip, generic "salad dressing"! Makes me gag. The smell, texture, sight, taste. Ever since I was a little kid I have loathed it with every iota of my being. I used to cry when I was little if we would go eat somewhere and they would put that nastiness on my sandwich. Funny thing is, I love ranch dressing and…
  • I use a small piece of paper towel, wet it, soap it, wad it up, and push it back and forth through the straw with a skewer, then rinse!
  • I do this every weekend....unfortunately the weekend comes every 4 days, so sometimes it's twice a week "weekends" because of my husband's schedule. I start off sticking to the plan. Like today is his Saturday and I just ate protein pancakes & getting ready to do my workout. After he wakes up, the day will get worse and…
  • That's not petty! It's horrible that they did that! I can't even believe someone would act that way. Even unkindness from strangers hurts, no doubt about it. People can be so rude and hurtful. Keep your chin up! They don't know you, or the journey you're on, or the wonderful things you do! :flowerforyou:
  • Is there a chance you have reflux? I do, and this is one of the symptoms that bothers me the most. Maybe look into it, or try taking a Tums after you eat to see if it makes a difference. Good luck!
  • Agree! My grandparents are in their 80's, independent and active, and used to take us to McDonald's as a treat. My grandpa's favorite places to eat? Buffet restaurants and KFC. And they are far from overweight or unhealthy. Why? Because they enjoy these things in moderation! Wonderful role models!
  • It sounds like your family knows it gets you riled up when they say things like that, and maybe they like pushing your buttons for some reason. And maybe they feel insecure because they know they should change their lifestyles and may be a wee bit envious of your dedication to your own. I agree with some of the others, say…
  • The Shakeweights are always for a laugh! Thanks for sharing!
  • I've had a Mirena IUD for almost 4 years with no problems gaining weight, or otherwise. I think it has more benefits than drawbacks, and will definitely get it replaced when the time comes. Good luck, whatever you decide!
  • For me, yes! I also have P90X, and I love that, too. I live in a town of 700 people, miles from any gym, and we got over 100" of snow this winter preventing me from being outside, so these dvds saved me. Since I started in December, I've lost pounds and inches, and feel the best I've felt since before my kids were born.
  • Make a wrap using high fiber tortilla, chicken breast, laughing cow cheese, spinach, red onion. You can put black beans in it, too. Or different cheese, salsa, avocado, etc. You can switch it up in lots of different ways.
  • I'm with ya there! My tummy is the flattest it's been since before my daughter was born...12 years ago. Then after my son was my heaviest ever. But the pooch! I hate it! It's like it's own separate being, falling out there whenever I bend over. I can feel those ab muscles under there, I want to see them not covered in…
  • I'm doing Insanity, also. I use their recommended calculation for calories while I'm doing the program, since they do already factor in the exercise. Using Harris-Benedict, my cals/day are 1800, whereas MFP recommends 1400. You may be more tired due to not enough complex carbs, or "bonking", as they call it. Month 2 is…
  • When you post anything in a thread, it gets saved to "My Topics" at the top. People will post "bump" so the thread they are interested in will get saved, making it easy to find again and read.
  • Sounds super yummy! :)
  • Thank you! Another one that has quite a few free videos, is exercise.com.
  • Hey! I adopted a humpback. Her name is Mist, and she's not a terrible pet!
