  • Or, like PJilly posted, put "0" as the number of calories burned. I eat my exercise calories, so if I'm eating a higher number of calories because I exercised, those calories are going to have fat, carbs, and protein. Are you still able to keep the exact amounts for these nutrients, after you exercise? I hope that's not…
  • I posted about this in the tech support section. I didn't realize they would change, along with calories, after you entered exercise! I thought the website and my phone just weren't "talking" to each other. It makes sense, in a way, that they would change, since the macro/micro nutrient amounts are percentages of calories.…
  • Tortato! Oh, now I want one sooo bad! Or a Pronto Pup slathered in mustard. Don't really do the rides much, but I love the ferris wheel.
  • Qt Ha, ha! One of my all time favorite movies!
  • Thank you for the info! This is getting more popular than ever right now. I need to start taking advantage of the deals out there.
  • The BMI chart gives a fairly wide range of healthy weights for different heights. It's a tool, giving a general idea of a healthy weight for you. I learned in Nutrition in nursing school, that since it does not take into account build or body fat %, it should be used as a general guideline, not gospel. A muscle-bound body…
  • I have a problem with this, too! I will chew gum, drink hot tea, drink water, keep my hands busy with a project, or just go to bed. This doesn't always work, though. I don't really snack because I'm hungry, I think it's more habit, or boredom. If you really are hungry, go ahead and eat a small snack. Good luck to you!
  • I'm glad you went in to get seen! They'll get you all figured out, and you'll be on your way!
  • Wow, scary! Did you double check by feeling your pulse? If your HRM was accurate, and your pulse went to 212, I would see your doctor a lot sooner than your next check-up. That's not normal, and you would probably rest easier if you had it checked out.
  • I'll eat a banana or almonds or walnuts, or a piece of toast with 1 tbsp natural p.b.
  • Like, Flying Pie, flying pie? Like Boise Flying Pie? Just curious. Their pizza is too, too yummy!
  • Kashi GoLean cereal has 10 g in one serving, whole grain tortillas for 7 g (I eat lots of wraps. So many different ways to make them), popcorn, nuts, berries (esp. raspberries), whole grain bread for 7 g, multigrain sandwich thins for 7 g.

  • Oh, Goo! That is hilarious though!
  • I have P90X, and I love it! Yes, it's a 90-day program, but many people do it over and over. For the money, it's a good deal for something you can potentially use for years to come. There is also a new program out called Supreme 90 Day. I believe it's 10 dvds, very similar to P90X, but the cost is $20. It has gotten good…
  • Part of what drives me nuts about this whole process, is the fixation on the numbers. I was 135 pre-pregnancy with my first child....in 1998. I'm 12 years older now, had another baby, am in a different life situation than I was then. When I started living healthier, my goal was 155. Then as I got closer, I realized I…
  • Where I used to have access to a gym, there was a little, elderly woman that would come in, wearing her polyester slacks and one of those sweatshirts with the birdhouses on it. She had "her" treadmill, right by the door, and if anyone was on it, there would be hell to pay! Luckily everyone was understanding, and obliged…
  • I'm 5'8", 156-158 for the last 2 months! Argh! My original goal is 145, and then I'll see how I feel from there. I've been on MFP for a little bit, don't have any friends yet. I like the idea of a group, and it may be the extra motivation I need to keep going. I live in a tiny town, don't know anyone, and it's always nice…
  • Is that why I'm laying in bed reading through the threads one last time for the day? Could be I'm addicted! :) It's a joke with my husband now, when he sees me looking at my phone, he asks, "oh, are you 'counting calories' again?" He thinks I'm on FB, or some other site, when really, I AM indeed counting calories, or just…
  • Greek yogurt with 1/2 C Kashi GoLean mixed in & a serving of fruit; 1/2 C oatmeal with 6 egg whites cooked in & 1/2 C frozen blueberries added; 6 egg whites scrambled with veggies wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla with salsa. Good ideas from everyone else! I'm always looking for new things to try.
  • I no longer have access to a gym, but I love reading about everyone's experiences! Thanks for the laughs!
  • Yes, make sure you do your measurements. I started weight training a couple months ago and since then, I haven't seen a big change in numbers on the scale, but there has been a big loss in inches. Also pay attention to how your clothing fits. This is a good indicator of fat loss. You're doing great!
  • I recently bought a Timex Zone Trainer. I really like it! It was less than $50 on amazon and I chose it because of the great reviews. It has a chest strap and I thought it would be uncomfortable, but it's not. Good luck with whatever you choose!
