  • I like spaghetti squash with mushrooms and roasted tomatoes, sauteed spinach, peppers, onions, etc.
  • I'm loving all the ideas on this thread, as I am also looking to update my playlist/motivation. Looks like I'll have to look up some of the suggestions here, I never thought of show tunes. Look out for the runner with jazz hands!
  • I think my favorite part is of step 7: "add topping and destroy!" Thanks for sharing!
  • Admittedly, I didn't take the time to read ALL of the responses, so I may be duplicating another person's advice. I always let someone know my route and approximately how long I think I'll be gone. I call them when I'm done/home safe. I don't run at the same time everyday or have a predictable route/pattern (this isn't…
  • Thank you for sharing! I'm looking forward to trying this out.
  • These are fantastic... thanks for sharing!!
  • I love you guys! LOL! I get a big 'ole INCOMPLETE when it comes to Insanity. I have started it maybe a half dozen times, but never seem to get past week 2 or 3 with any consistency. I've been lifting weights and trying to swim, bike, and/or "run" (more like a walk/jog) but of course I've been in "vacation mode" since…
  • I have started (and stopped...grrr) Insanity a few times now. I can't seem to maintain the consistency. So Monday 12/17 it is... Day 1. Thanks for starting the group, I need some help to be held accountable! Good luck everyone!
  • oh bummmer, as I am married with two children, but have the same goals and 'busyness' factor. Can we just 'pretend' and still be friends?? :ohwell:
  • What sort of help are you looking for? I am fantastic at cheering people on and supporting them emotionally... databases and spreadsheets make me run (away!).
  • If there are any spaces left in the group, I'd love to join. I have a gym membership and currently working with weights 4 to 6 days a week. Jogging/walking 3 days a week and swimming/biking when I can fit it in the schedule... challenges hold me accountable to myself and I love the support from like minded members!
  • *whistling* everyone here has a fantastic story to share, and the photos of the transformations are amazing... well done ladies! As for myself, I think I joined MFP a few years ago, and bounced around with the same 10 pounds, and was equally non-committal with my logging. However, since June 2011, when I was at my highest…
  • Funny, I was musing the same thing about my own c-section aftermath...although now my 'babies' are nearly 7 1/2 and 6... I've finally made it to pre-pregnancy weight just a week or so ago. It's empowering to read about you ladies who are showing the rest of us that it CAN be done. Thanks for sharing!
  • wow...bumping this to read later.
  • I love reading all the positive changes people have made in their lives, thanks for asking the question! I, like others, have started to really pay attention to the quality of food I am feeding myself and my family. I'm working on getting more rest and being 'fully present' during my daily activities. But I have to say one…
  • Funny, I've thought about swimming with music too. I find that when I'm 'bored enough to lose track' of my laps, I start counting by 50s or 100s (yards) and then try to breathe every 3rd stroke for 50, every 5th stroke for 50, and so on. I can't maintain breathing every 7th stroke for 50 yards yet, but it's fun to try.…
  • what a celebration... seeing your progress in pictures must be so empowering! We don't often see the changes from day to day, but the way you were able to compare them side by side... wow. Good for you! Thanks for the inspiration and motivation this morning. I would love to find out what app you used. Looking forward to…
  • Yeah, those cookies and half nights of sleep have caught up with me. I'm up to 228. Completely self-induced weight gain right there. However, we have had the best Christmas weekend this year. I'm okay with my gain and will be back at it again Monday morning. Happy Holidays everyone!
  • I'd love to join this challenge, what is that I need to do? THanks for putting it together!
  • I'm in for extending the challenge ;) I didn't weigh in on Sunday as promised... don't even know what my numbers are! Anyhow, I'll be sure to get it on the chart for this week. Thanks!
  • I should be posting my swimming distances, then I'd have something to report! LOL. I appreciate this challenge, and hope that it will continue in one way or another into the new year. I knew I wouldn't get anywhere close to 75 miles in a month, I just wanted to MOVE through December (and not stuff myself silly with…
  • I completely agree with extending the challenge to the first of the year... however, I'm sure there will be other new ones that crop up as we begin 2012. I will weigh in tomorrow. Thank you to Falisha for all of the hard work!
  • Whew, down 2.2 this week. Nice. A little NSV for me this week, I DIDN'T buy that cute little cookbook full of cookie and dessert recipes at the grocery store! LOL. Current Weight (As of 12/10): 224.0 lb. Challenge Goal Weight (for DEC 22): 212 Weight Category: Reduce 9/1: 227.3 lb. 9/8: 226.7 9/15: 227.1 9/22: 223.5 9/29:…
  • Um, I did 2.25 miles this week on the treadmill. Bringing me up to a total of 4.25. I wonder how many miles I may have logged as I was shopping? In the past I would have been too embarrassed to report that, but every day is a celebration of life, there will be days that I can spend quite a long time in the gym and there…
  • Okay, I think my attitude has been adjusted. Lost 2.3 this week. Here's lacing up my shoes for another two pounds next week (forget crossing my fingers!) Current Weight (As of 12/4: 226.2 lb. Challenge Goal Weight (for DEC 22): 212 Weight Category: Reduce 9/1: 227.3 lb. 9/8: 226.7 9/15: 227.1 9/22: 223.5 9/29: missed it…
  • A big shout out to everyone who had kind words of encouragement for me last week, they're greatly appreciated, thank you! I'll be posting my chart on Sunday.
  • I have nissed a few weigh ins. Some by accident, but I'm sure at least one was purposeful. I probably didn't want to face the fact that I have gained (and then of course post it here for all to see, but that's why we're here, right?) So I am back, thank you Falisha for adding me back to the chart. One day at a time, one…
  • So it seems like I am not the only one who was on the 'roller coaster' the past week (or so). I didn't realize I had missed TWO weigh ins! Falisha, if you're able, could you add me to the chart again? I have succumbed to the lures of discounted halloween candy and will update my weight accordingly for this week's chart.…
  • Thank you maeadair for sharing your words of wisdom and encouragement! I agree with you that it is so important to keep moving ahead and not let yesterday's food choices hold you back. This is about living life, right? It's not always going to be a 'textbook' calorie day ;)
  • Congrats to everyone who is reaching their mini goals. I also applaud everyone who is still working toward their mini goals! As for me, I'm not at my mini goal, but I'm okay with that and I am accepting where I am at this point in my journey (whoohoo!). I'm down 1.3 this week, at 223.4. As long as each weigh in is going in…
