I've heard this as well and my trainer confirmed it. Didn't believe it myself until I met a few people with a 6 pack who never lifted a day in their lives but ate good/healthy.

I've been losing on average 8lbs a month with maybe one beer a month. I drank this passed two weekends in a row and didn't lose crap. All I know is it shouldn't be done in excess and frequently.

I usually try to avoid them at all costs. If I can't, I try to choose what I know is somewhat healthy, ask how it's made, and then eat about half of it.

I don't live in the best of places but San Antonio is so lush and green and very nice (in most parts) and there's a diverse race of people. The city is huge but not too densely populated and the job economy is awesome here!
