  • I joined MFP at the end of January and its been fantastic in keeping me on track. I have lost consistantly...about a pound each week and am thrilled with the results......however I am now truly confused. Three weeks ago I weighed in on Sat morning as per usual only to find that I had'nt lost an ounce. It was the first time…
  • Paul McKenna is very big over here in England. His methods have been used on TV shows with great success. Can't speak personally as I havent tried any of his methods ( I get a bit spooked by the idea of hypnosis) but many rave about him. Your diary is so honest and frank, dont loose heart and try and keep up the good…

  • Swimming! I did an hours breast stroke today and earned over 600 cals which I am planning to spend on a choc bar treat tonight.... Not all of it of course but excercising definatly helps me to get the odd treat in here and there... Good luck:drinker:
  • The counting does get a bit (quite a bit) boring but heh it seems to be working and an added bonus is that I tune out on what the old man is rabbiting on about!!
  • Over here in England there is a tv programme that is testing diets from times gone by. They are trialing a Victorian high protien diet, a 1920's low calorie diet and an Edwardian diet called the 'Chew Chew' diet. This involves eating most foods but you have to chew the food 32 times before you can swallow. (by the time you…
  • Do heart rate monitors tell you how many calories burnt when you are excercising? I am looking for something that will help me work out exactly how many I burn up as I think I may be over estimating. Anyone out there know????
  • Swimming is definatly the way to go.... I have just come back from a session at the pool. One hour of breast stroke and now I have an extra 700 cal to use on food. Brill! I started slowly (about fiftenn mins a time) as I have a dodgy knee, courteous of my clumsy dog who bowled me over on a walk a couple of years…
  • Dont panic and stay with it. :ohwell: At times like these when your will power is low and you feel that its not really worth the effort thats when you have to hang in there. I know its hard but put it behind you and go for it this week to get back on track. Good luck : ,
  • I have just returned from a swim at the golf club. 80 mins non stop breast stoke that MFP tells me give me over 900 cals to spend on extras. Now I can happily munch on the easter egg that my hubby presented me with this morning! Yeah!!!!!!!:drinker:
  • You have come to the right place. This site tells it like it is....no where to hide all those odd little snacks that you think dont add up to much. Good luck
  • Hi all, We are having friends over for a meal at the weekend and I need some ideas for low cal nibbles. I've got the main and the dessert sorted but the nibbles are evading me. I'm from England so I know you guys from over the pond probably have access to all sorts of really nice low cal nibble stuff but there is a derge…
  • Wellcome!! I am British and a MUM and NAN dont you guys have MUM's in the USA?
  • I'm with you Vicky, I live in Cornwall and apart from Cornish Pasties on every corner there is very little in the way of tempting restuarants. The food in America sounds amazing! I went to New York about ten years ago and couldnt believe the size of the portions everyone serves. Just as well I live in England or I would be…
  • You said it! . I also used to be able to eat anything and never put on weight. I went through an early menopause (43) and since then its been an uphill struggle. I'm now 52 and finally after finding this site the scales are going in the right direction.Just tracking what I eat and how much I excercise is brill Hang in…

Have a great day wherever you are, oh and I have just succumed to my first choc of the day...well I cant let them go to waste can I, I will just have to go on a afternoon hike with the dog to work it off. • I know that I should'nt complain but my lovely son has just given me a box of Thorntons chocolates for mothers day! A mere 60 calories for every chocolate and they are so so irristable. Maybe I can have one (and only one) everyday for the next month. Yeah right!
  • Hi, I tried it and I was really hungry! Its fine for breakfast but if you stick to the portion size they recommend its a real light lunch! I lasted three days and was so hungry I gave up so I cant say that I lost any weight on it though I guess that if I had stuck to such low calorie intake I would have. Not that its the…
