  • Definite bump
  • No...that just means you're getting old! Happens to me ALL THE TIME! ha ha ha ha ha (jokes)
  • As per the other posters...it's going to be about the healthy choices you make and how active you are (walking IS a great exercise...just try to work up a bit of a sweat doing it). More importantly...don't set yourself up for failure. "I want to lose 60 pounds in 3 to 4 months" is not realistic for someone who only weighs…
  • I know they say to have big breakfasts, medium lunches and small dinners but I find that it doesn't work for me, hunger control wise. When I have a smaller breakfast, I tend to eat a little less during the day. (Again, that's just me...might not work for you/your metabolism). Some tips, though: DRINK LOTS OF WATER! I have…
  • Right now I am listening to "love you like a love song" by Selena Gomez. Yeah...a little teeny-bopper-ish but it's got a great beat!!!
  • Measuring is key! You can get a simple food scale (I saw one at SEARS for $9.99 yesterday! I've also seen ones for $19.99) Anyway...be sure to get one that measures in grams and ounces. (I.e. mine measures every 25 grams and then every ounce and goes up to 16 ounces...or 1 lb). I even count out my pasta noodles. If I am…
  • C'mon girl!!! You're making healthy changes and that's what matters MOST. I took me a good TWO MONTHS before any weight started coming off. But if I have to be honest...the first few months I wasn't being 100% (i.e. I'd log MOST stuff, but not all; more often than not I'd have a couple of binge days; I over estimated…
  • I don't know if you have "4 Square" in the States but here in Canada it's done by the CBC. Annoying as hell!
  • It's ok to be frustrated. If you are 315, then I think having your calories at 1400 is not enough! You might have to eat more. Again, lots of forum posts on why eating MORE might actually help you to lose more weight. Have a look at some of the other forum posts about eating more. What does MFP set for you as your goal…
  • ^^^ This too. Eat what you like, just in moderation and try to make healthy choices where you can. I.E.e Nothing wrong with a full egg!
  • I'd also suggest that you consider revaluating why it is the scale that is determining your success. There are a lot of forum discussions about why the scale is not the best measure of success (just do a search on "scale" and see what comes up!). You might be better served to think about other positive changes - how do you…
  • ha ha ha ha! :) Good one.
  • The scale does funny things to us. See a loss and you might ease up on your eating habits. See a gain and you might give up totally or get very discouraged. The scale never tells the whole story and it is SO MUCH BETTER to use it as only ONE of the -- and NOT the most important -- many ways to track progress. Your PT is…
  • It's really unfortunate that being skinny is more important than being healthy.
  • Hmmm...looks like you forgot a milk and bananas day...
  • Just wondering - if you have been doing well for a few weeks then why try this new method? Slow and steady wins the race and there are no quick wins when it comes to a healthy way to lose extra weight. The concern is for your health and to make sure you know that you're not losing fat in 6 days and it might make you gain…
  • At one point I did feel like my S.O. was not supporting me. The "last time" I tried to lose weight, every time I wanted to go to the gym I felt rushed like I had to get back home. Or if I was eating something questionable, I would hear a remark. BUT that was last year. I have recently reevaluated my goals and what I define…
  • AGREED! Intervals make it interesting. Try to do something different for each song. I.e. Track 1 is warm up. Track 2 do 1 minute fast walking (or jogging if you're up to it) and then 1 minute regular speed and then back to another 1 minute of being faster and 1 minute regular speed, etc etc. Track 3 do a hill climb (i.e.…
  • Fennel is my favourite too!!! One of the things I do with fennel is thickly slice it, brush a bit of extra virgin olive oil, sprinkle some salt and sprinkle a bunch of oregano and bake at 350 for a 1/2 hour. DELISH!!!
  • Nutella. Sigh........
  • I know that "they" say that having a larger breakfast is important - but I still think that it is up to everyone to figure out what works best for them. I tried to eat more in the morning - what ended up happening was that I was MORE hungry as the day went on and it was harder for me to stick to the calorie plan so I would…
  • I get being busy! Some ideas you could try: Have an apple already washed and ready to eat in your fridge. Have a protein bar. High fibre cereal with skim milk. Boil eggs the night before, peel them and they're ready to eat in the morning. Where there is a will...there is a way!
  • I would never put off eating! Remember that food fuels the body. Respect the body and you will fuel it appropriately. It is ok to have a light healthy breakfast and light healthy lunch if you are just not a morning eater...but eat something!
  • I'm wondering why you note "little results". Is the scale the only measure of your success? IMHO, if you are making changes to be healthy, then the number on the scale is only one part (a SMALLpart) of the way you should evaluate your progress.
  • I try not to swear too much...but in this case it's warranted: HOLY *kitten*!!!! Way to go!!! :)
  • OH...and yes I count my fruit calories. LOL
  • I think worrying about the sugar in fruit is counterproductive. One of the first steps in making healthy choices is filling the day with more fruits and vegetables - which are full of wonderful nutrients. And I say if you are going to reach for that apple RATHER THAN reach for the cookie, you have done yourself a world of…
