Traveling would be tough on the healthy eating side of things. Is there a way you can take your lunch with you? If not, when eating out, I try to stick to grilled chicken and salads. But even then, salads can really rack up the calories if you're not careful. Add in all the cheese, dressing, croutons and bacon bits and…

Feel free to add me. Love all the extra accountability and meeting new friends!~ Turning 31 soon, Mommy, wife, in southern Indiana. Finally got results after being overweight my entire life.

Congratulations on your wedding! How exciting! To reduce the possibility of extra bloat, watch your salt intake. And make sure you're drinking half of your body weight in water, this will not only help your skin glow and look lovely, but it helps reduce dark circles. And, then of course that leads me to get make sure…

Hi Sarah, I joke that I could exercise all day long, but have to constantly practice self control to avoid snacking. Uuuugh.. It's so hard. For me it's either an all or nothing scenario. I can't take just "a bite" of a cheat food... if I do, I end up eating the entire thing. So I try to avoid them at all costs. I hate…

I'll be turning 31 in a couple months and have also had thyroid issues. I was tested multiple times before they finally gave me medicine for it. I was so sluggish and grumpy. My hair was even falling out. :( I wanted to lose weight, but didn't have the energy to even exercise. It was a constant battle. Finally after…

Slim in 6 is a great choice for low-impact. Don't let the "low-impact" part fool you. When I do those workouts, I sweat up a storm and burn loads of calories. A friend of mine also did Slim in 6 and lost around 25lbs with the program.

Welcome! MyFitnessPal has been a staple in my weight-loss journey. Super helpful and I love the barcode scanner on the app for my phone. Makes like so much easier! Best of luck to you.

1. MyFitnessPal - It was eye-opening how out of whack my calorie intake was. I would just eat and not even think about calories. :( 2. My Polar FT4 - I bought it when I got determined to lose weight. I wanted to know just exactly how many calories I was burning so I wouldn't have to guess with MFP. 3. Planning Ahead - I…

Congrats, on taking the initial step to reach your goal! In my opinion the first step is always the hardest, so kudos!! I was overweight all my life and continued to balloon after my last pregnancy and then used excuses. One day I decided to kick the excuses to the curb and now I'm in better shape than I've ever been.…

Welcome back, Jason! I had MFP a long time ago and never used it. I downloaded it again last year and now I log in daily (with a forgetful log-in slip every now and then) but it's so helpful. If I think I don't need to log-in the scale will fluctuate and remind me that I don't know what I'm doing with my calories. I mean…

Maurices has very cute clothes and usually has sales or stuff on clearance.

I have the exact same problem with mine and it's around a year old. I have to re-wet it or move it around to get it going again. From what I've heard it's pretty common. :(

Just messaged you.

Have you thought of finding a workout buddy? Ya know, someone to hold you accountable and push you along? A local friend? Like the others said, you do care about yourself. :) But finding motivation is hard. Motivation isn't something that just happens. I think determination comes first... You get determined to do it...…

Third time is the charm, right? But seriously, kudos to you because you're dead set on reach your goal!! Anyway, something I do is I plan my meals for the week, put it on a weekly calendar, and hang it on my fridge. This way I don't waste time trying to decide what to fix while the family is saying, "I'm hungry." It takes…

I would count it toward your water intake.

I used to be a chronic over-eater. I ate large portions and had seconds just because it tasted so good. :( But, something that has helped me on my journey is that now I'm eating 5 times throughout the day. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. And if I don't drink enough water, I feel soooooo hungry (like yesterday lol).…

Hi poppy2003, first congratulations on taking the first step! For me, that first step was the hardest because I'd say I wanted to get healthy, but my actions spoke volumes compared to my words. :( I have two little boys at home as well (3 if you count my husband - haha) but I had been overweight my entire life and super…
