I'm Jason - back to MFP ... the saga begins again.

Hello, my name is Jason. I'm 31 years old. I weigh 213 pounds. My weight loss journey has been a long and tiring one, as it is with most people, right? As a kid and early teens I was at an average weight. During high school I started gaining weight, probably due to depression which caused me to overeat. Around age 20 I lost those extra pounds, and was at 140 pounds. I received a lot of praise for doing so well, and looking good. And I felt healthy and happy. When I was 22 years old (approx) I ballooned to 340 pounds. I ate anything and everything, and was a big-time binge eater who also had bouts of bulimia. Oh the countless times I would go from one fast food drive thru to the next, eating in my car. My trunk was filled with the "evidence" of my problem. Full size trash bags filled with sandwich wrappers and french fry containers. I was mortified when this was discovered. For about 7 years or so I stayed at or above 300 pounds. Walking up stairs was enough to make me out of breath and my heart would pound for 10-15 minutes once up just one flight of stairs. Well, I've babbled on here, but I did start MFP about a 2 years ago. I did very well and lost over 100 pounds. The big mistake I made was I slowly stopped logging in, feeling as though I had accomplished my goal and no longer needed to be accountable. I hope others don't make this mistake. I gained about 20-25 lbs. So here I am, back to MFP and am quite happy about it, and looking forward to seeing results and making friends who are going through similar situations. I feel confident I can lose those gained pounds and then maintain my weight and stay accountable. Have a great day!

Hello. I'm back again myself. Sciatic nerve issue last year forced me to stop working out for close to 8 weeks. From there I lost motivation to workout and definitely stopped logging. All negaitves. I since have gained more than half of the 50 lbs I lost 3 yrs ago back. So here I am. I realize now I need MFP, consistent workouts and good eating.
  • Welcome back, Jason!
I had MFP a long time ago and never used it. I downloaded it again last year and now I log in daily (with a forgetful log-in slip every now and then) but it's so helpful. If I think I don't need to log-in the scale will fluctuate and remind me that I don't know what I'm doing with my calories. I mean I'd eat something and think oh that's not that bad in cals when really.... yea it is. I have to constantly be watchful of what I geat. But anyway, I really admire your perseverance! And seriously kudos to you for overcoming all obstacles and losing 100lbs! Way to go!! Good luck on your journey!
