  • Check out R U Seen. They have great reflective gear that is highly visible at night. Plus the designs are really cool.
  • I think you may be confusing her with Farrah Fawcett. Suzanne Somers is alive and still disseminating her mis-information.
  • Wow! Those are amazing results. You should be very proud!!
  • Carson's got it right. Figuring out and maintaining your pace outside is hard! I am always amazed when I run with people outside who can tell you exactly what pace they are running and can adjust it on a whim. I never have any idea how fast or slow I'm going unless I go so fast I burn out. I'm told it's an ability you can…
  • Welcome! It's an awesome program and the women on here are all very supportive. Makes up for Medhi, the founder, being such a male chauvinist type of guy!!!

  • Rachel these look really good to me. I couldn't really see any problems with your form on either until I read the comments someone posted on each video. Once it was pointed out I could see what they were talking about. Thanks for posting them. I think it will help all of us when working on our form. Can't wait until I have…
  • Hard to believe it's May already! Got my power rack all set up on Saturday and boy, does that Olympic bar feel alot heavy than the lighter bar I was using with extra weights. But here's what I'm doing: Squats: 70 Bench Press: 65 Row: 70 OP: 60 Deadlift: 120 The overhead press is the absolute hardest for me. I think I may…
  • I'm so excited I'm joining the craigs list band wagon. Taking delivery Saturday of my "new" used power rack, olympic barbell and 275 pounds of weights. Hopefully, I'll get the spot cleaned out tonight so I can set it up right away. This should make it so much easier to go heavy, I can't wait! This group offers a wealth of…
  • Hi Ladies! I"m so happy that I found this group. I just started NROL4W the other day but didn't really care for it. I love weight lifting even though I have been out of it for a while now so am excited to meet this group and get going with SL 5x5. I will be starting tonight but of course already have a question. I have…
  • Just remember, it's about finishing, preferably in an upright position (that came from a trainer I know before a recent 10K I did)! Also, no matter how fast or slow you go, you will be faster than all those people sitting on their couches!! Good luck and be sure to post how you do!!
  • Agree with everyone on the shoes and also taking a rest day between runs. I have also found that wearing compression sleeves on my lower legs keeps my muscles nice and warm and they hurt alot less. You can give that a try too.
  • Runkeeper.com is a great site to use. They also have a phone app to go with it.
  • I have a hard time doing push ups also. One suggestion I read about in Women's Health magazine is do them on a set of stairs. Stand on the floor at the bottom of the stairs and lean forward to the highest stair that you are comfortable at. Do as many pushups that way as you can. As they become easier, move your feet out…
  • I'd love to join this group. Am just getting back to exercise and running after battling an injury for nine months. Been a long haul and I'm back to square one so any motiviation and support will be welcome!!
  • Couch to 5K is an awesome program to follow for beginners and you can go right into running a 5K when you complete it. There is great support too on the C25K website! Good luck!!
  • I had the same problem when I first started running then found a great tip in a running book I was reading. The author (who I can't remember right now) said to breath in and out for odd numbers like 3 breaths in, 2 breaths out. If you are going faster and need to breath more, do 2 breaths in, 1 breath out. This is because…
  • I have a Polar FT7 and love it. I do find that the HRM on treadmills and ellipticals tend to overestimate the amount of calories you are burning. I always find that my treadmill is about 75-100 calories higher than the HRM but always go by the HRM. I believe the HRM is a better indication of your true calories as it takes…
  • I have a Polar FT7 and love it. It does come with a chest strap and there is no problem using it. There is also a special bra made by Polar that has the transmitter built in but it is very expensive. The only drawback I have run into with this HRM is that when you begin to monitor your HR it does not show you how long you…
