  • Yeah....only syncing my yoga, walking, strength and walking. Also no syncing any of my higher impact or high calorie burn. If I call my aerobic workouts "dance" it may sync, but that seems pretty random and not really accurate. Too frustrating.
  • I was so looking forward to returning to MFP once I got my Apple Watch, but the truth is the exercises don't sync in any consistent way. It syncs all of my yoga workouts and strength training, but any high impact aerobic training....nothing. If I call it "dance" it can, but it pulls nothing else. I'm not sure why, but I've…
  • Since beginning this discussion I decided to weigh myself once each of the past two weeks. The first time I was higher than I've been since after my pregnancy, this morning I lost .3lbs. I think my talk of tossing it may have scared the scale into showing a loss even if a small one. lol! I am feeling better and will…
  • That is such a great way to think about it! I will say I did in fact step on the scale this morning after not weighing myself for a number of weeks. I am about 5-6 lbs above my goal weight. But the good news is that though I did think about it lots today, I didn't really stress about it. What helped was that I noticed when…
  • *Sigh* I think I should be grateful that I did not toss th scale as so many friends have suggested. I will get back on. Please pray that I don't become depressed by the number I am sure to see.
  • I sort of think this is what has happened to me. When I think about the fitness changes I've made in the last year or so, I see my yoga practice. Strange how I have never felt stronger or even slimmer before yet this is when the weight number creeps. Some of my clothes fit differently, others do not. There doesn't see to…
  • I think I may go the measurement route and just try not to pay attention to my weight goal. The scale number just screws with my head.
  • I think you are me.
  • This is exactly what I have been doing for the past 10 years. I would count and track just one week of the month to keep myself on track, but would weight myself weekly to be sure I wasn't gaining. Tracking the one week would keep me at or even below my GW (I loved having that 2-3 lb buffer)! And this is exactly how I…
  • quote="rhtexasgal;c-40437622"]I have not weighed myself in months. I am in perimenopause and there are just certain areas of my body that are not budging, no matter what - namely a tiny amount of flab on my inner thighs (only I seem to notice), some belly fat and just a few other minor areas. I decided that I would track…
  • Tell me more about recomposition. I'm not sure I heard that term before.
  • you might be right. Maybe my desire to have one comes and goes.
  • Body Media? Will look at that. But I'm not sure a monthly fee will encourage me. I just have trouble justifying paying more money for maintenance. I guess this is the hurdle for me. If I'm succeeding, then why add something else especially if it is going to cost more? But thanks for the information. I do love knowing my…
  • I've done the squat challenge and the plank challenge as well as another one. These are all added to my existing 6-days/week exercise routine. I found that each of them provided a focus that did in fact enhance my workout and diet. It's added push for me. I'm currently on a maintenance plan so not trying to lose weight.…
  • What if I told you it was not your weight at all but the prospect of turning this Skype relationship into a real one is what the problem was? You began your post with this notion that you developed a relationship learned so much about someone through Skype. I suggest in stead yours was a Skype relationship only. With that,…
  • I struggle with this too. I've been on maintenance for awhile now and mostly I get nervous when I eat back all of my calories. I'm not gaining or losing so successfully maintaining, but I still worry if I don't stay below my calorie goal. As time goes by I am learning that I don't have to worry so much either way...eating…
  • drove me crazy too. so I stopped tracking sugar. I'm at maintenance now so think there are more important things for me to watch like calcium and iron.
  • I'm not sure I ever felt guilty, but more relieved. I still struggle with maintenance. Not that I am gaining, but I still get nervous when I eat back all of my calories. I've not gained or lost but fluctuate back and forth within 2 pounds...so....maintaining! I just feel like I need to end the day with a couple hundred…
  • That's just it. It's not such a problem to go and weight in. Just one more thing to do. But it seems to have nothing to do with my maintenance right now....or does it? Thanks for the toast!
  • If your instructor has talked to you about it and thinks you can do it, than do it! We have instructors at our center who are various ages included a couple of them who are over 50. I say go through the process and gauge how YOU feel throughout. Do you feel good teaching? Do you feel as though you are getting more out of…
  • The oldest one at our center is 84!! I adore her. She comes in all made up and wearing some chunky jewelry some days too. :) I always say it's these women I strive to be when I am older. Really, all of the women at Jazzercise are so beautiful. :)
  • Our center has about 20 different instructors and I go 5 or 6 times a week. I just love having different sets all of the time. Some are more difficult than others, but all are fun and I think being able to mix it up this way is better for my overall fitness. Glad you tried a different instructor. You are right, they are…
  • I've not had much weight to lose here, but as much as I would love to have a hrm (I really like gadgets), I just figure whatever number I use, as long as I am consistent with the source, my maintenance and weight loss stays consistent. The one thing that keeps me from buying an hrm is that's just another set of numbers to…
  • I don't believe in "cheat days." I eat what I want and track it. Sometimes it's more calories than I should take in, but I count them just the same.
  • I wondered the same thing. Perhaps someone needs to just start the squat challenge....I think that as what everyone agreed to do. I've been doing it for a few weeks so was going to wait for the next one challenge.
  • So will there be a separate thread for each challenge. I started the 30 day squat challenge about a week ago, it's a great one. I'll join if you want, but don't want to mess up the team/point idea, so happy to join a different challenge at it's starting point.
  • Hello, my name is Kathy and I began maintenance a couple of weeks ago. I'm thinking challenges will help spice up my maintenance so I don't get lazy and gain. But mostly, each new challenge will make me stronger and healthier. I started the 30-day squat challenge this month and it really helps to always have fitness goals…
  • I had this problem years ago before having children. In fact I had to start seeing a nutritionist to learn to eat healthier as I was not taking in enough fat.
  • I've been struggling with this now that I'm on maintenance. Part of it is a fear of eating too much or going over so I tend to err on the side of starvation mode. I too love to exercise so earn many more calories and sometimes struggle to eat all of them. Whole cheeses, nuts and maybe even a glass of red wine once in…
  • Really?! Oh, I love to exercise. I really cannot imagine ever not doing it. In fact I see myself continuing to add to my exercise from now to my deathbed.
