Loss of motivation is normal. Think back to why you started to work out in the first place. It was for you. It was about you. There is lots of support here if you look. Your circumstances are not unique. I prefer the treadmill and I live on a lovely quiet dirt road, just don't like to be too hot or cold lol. Consider…

Sounds easy enough and love the cost effectiveness of this method. I eat the Greek style yogurt for the added protein benefit. How does that come into play when making your own?

Please don't drop the calories any lower. You may in fact need more. Figure out what you really need based on your new activity level using scoobys calculator as suggested already. If you have just started to track your calories be sure you are being honest and accurate. Can't see your diary so we have no idea what 'fairly…

What's not to love! You are beautiful. If this is the before...look out world after is going to knock you dead! That attitude change is what makes the beauty really shine, from within and out! Very happy for you, sleep well!

Welcome! The site is a great way to take a good look at how we have been eating. Lots of great fitness advise its shared freely ( lots of controversy to go with each opinion lol) Take it all in and find what works for you.. Glad to hear you say it's not all about weight loss. A healthy well balanced diet and a fitness plan…

Finally a chit chat board I can relate too!!! I have never heard of half of these sweet little miracles, so glad I kept one pair of big girl jeans and all the sweats lol If you need me I will be in the kitchen. :)

I no longer take any supplements. I get all my iron from food sources these days. At my neediest I took slo fe, an over the counter supplement doctor recommended. For a short time I took a multi vitamin that was iron rich. The supplement you take should reflect your deficiency..

Yup up those cals. It may take a week or two for your body to figure out it's getting enough fuel before it starts letting go of those stored fats. If you exercise that regularly and stay consistent you should start to see so changes very soon. I prefer weight training with minimal cardio for all the benefits of a healthy…

You won't gain muscle on such a low cal intake. You won't likely lose much either. Keep lifting at a progressive rate add a few hundred cals and that belly will flatten out in no time. I am over fifty ( 5'2, 112) eat around 1800 cals a day and am currently doing the mp(muscle and power) 6 program with my husband. Love this…

While the science behind this 'fad' may be sketchy at best I thought I'd give it a try. My teeth are a little whiter my gums a little pinker and I have not woken up once with leg cramps since I gave this a go.(It was a nightly occurance and nothing else I tried helped at all) Say what you will but if it helps why not. I…

Be sure the weight loss and the depression are related. (probably are)..Deal with them as two seperate issues non the less. If you are hungry revisit the calorie goal you have set. Trying to lose to fast may be too restrictive an intake for you. You only have one friend here and a closed diary. Add some people who can…

Not this year! Last year during this time of year however I did have a brief but assorted affair with that sweet Valentino Chocolatte. I ditched him and ran (literally) back into the forgiving arms of Gym. I learned my lesson, shed the guilt that weighed heavy on my hips and can now where a smile on my lips :)

welcome (back) to the next stage of your journey! You have done a wonderful job of telling the story you have lived. You seem to have a very healthy attitude, and I have no doubt it will take you anywhere you wish to go. You are truely lovely inside and out! Congratulations on your success to date, I hope it continues to…

served my husband talapia last night and he kept saying this is really good! It has taken me 25 years to convince him to try fish without beer batter on it lol frozen talapia fillets following microwave instructions ~ used a very small amt of butter and lightly sprinkled with club house vegetable seasoning. served with a…

If your goal is to add muscle you are going to need to eat that 1800 plus. With much of it coming from protein.~ yumm. Consider focusing more on what you are eating ~aim for 1 gram of protein /lb of body weight and let the cals work themselves out. I know it seems like a lot of cals but it is doable. My daily goal when…

this should help me turn my turf guy into a salmon lover! thanks all

eating meat is a good thing. Its the side dishes you can avoid or measure out more cautiously. Plan your day ahead so that you have enough cals to enjoy the sit down dinner. A hungry man is no fun to live with and a hungry women is even worse lol ( at least in my house ~ I often hear go eat something :) ) Consider upping…

3 meals and 3 snacks every day works for me, but by no means are they by the clock. i just fit them into my day. You will be happier on a scheduale that suits your lifestyle and not a trainers recommended eating times. He sounds a little unrealistic in his timing for you. Most people will say it doesn't matter when you…

this thread is a keeper! seems I am not doing it all wrong ~ lol thanks

I had my hysterectomy 4 years ago. I initially lost weight without making any real changes. In the past year I have lost almost 20 lbs, with more focus on eating enough (lots of protein and a balance of good carbs and healthy fats~and some treats along the way) and lifting weights (I do some cardio). I guess I was lucky.…

you say you started Jan 6 with a daily goal of 1775. When you started to actually log your goal was 1200..Big drop. Too big if you are tired and hungry. The days you eat too little with exercise cals available to you aren't helping. If you are going to exercise you MUST fuel your body at least enough to meet the 1200 cals…

well, I'm 2 for 3 lol at 5'2". My weight is a little lower but working on adding muscle to a small frame. I am going to assume many of you with a higher weight are more muscular than I currently am. I guess you could say i'm stuck in the middle :))

Thats a lot of cardio each day! Try a 30 -60 min routine that incorporates some resistance training. Working out at home can be easy (in that you don't have to go anywhere lol) and fun. Lots of great options available to you on the net and with dvds. Your cal goal seems reasonable. Good luck ~ feel free to add me. I don't…

this is a great challenge. I am up to 210 secs!!!!! (Started at the one minute mark) Good luck all

I tried yesterday for fun and managed a 1/2 of one lol I'm pretty light but that didn't seem to help. :P

Not farmilliar with the articles origins (from an unkown to me blog). No idea what she sells. I get my water from the tap lol. I just thought the story may have been of interest to someone with cocerns over diet sodas. It was sent to my husband by a well meaning relative. Your ensuing information was both insightfull and…

I agree its all about the quantity you consume. I drink very little of it myself, I prefer water. This is a link to the possible effects of diet soda and other artificially sweetend things. http://rhondagessner.wordpress.com/2013/09/02/a-killer-in-your-fridge-sweet-poison-a-must-read/

very helpful ~ bump for future refrence appreciate the tme you took to share

it concerns me that you are not hungry at all and that you are only up a few hours a day. A little more food may give you the energy you need to be more active. ergo needing more fuel. It may sound as if he is overreacting, but I think you have a doctor who genuinely cares. Don't downplay his concerns too much. I hope you…
