  • Hi! I'm 31, 5'1 and 185. I was 194 about a month ago. I've been gaining and losing the same 20 pounds for a few years now, since I had my second child. I don't really have an ultimate goal weight but I see myself being somewhere around 140. My goals are more physical strength and feeling fit than a set weight at this…
  • http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Sunshine-Chicken/ I made this and my family loved it- used light agave instead of corn syrup.
  • I prefer whole wheat bread that has as few ingredients as I can find for a reasonable price (around $3/loaf). No high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, and local if I can find it. Just my preference.
  • I did Arbonne's 7 day cleanse. It did nothing for me but make me hungry and give me a constant headache. I lost 3 lbs... which I gained back the next week. I was expecting to feel great, but I really didn't. Good luck to you with whatever you choose to do, but I'll never do another one.
  • http://cookieandkate.com/2010/baked-sweet-potato-fries/ Who doesn't like sweet potato fries?
  • I have dealt with Sciatica pain on and off for years and found relief through PT exercises (back bends and side bends) and wearing good supportive shoes.
  • I try to get up early and exercise before my two girls (2 and 5) get up, or make it work mid morning with the kids running around me. They even have their own 1 lb. weights, which is pretty adorable. Gym is not currently an option for me so I do you tube videos (Jillian Michaels, Jessica Smith, etc.) It was hard getting in…
  • Yes. 2 years a go I lost 25 lbs., stopped logging and exercising then gained 30 lbs. I'm definitely on a "kick" now and hope to stay on it... forever!
  • Jessica Smith TV on you tube is great, she has lots of different kinds of workouts. 30 day Shred and Ripped in 30 are the same format, just different exercises.
  • Thanks everyone for the advice. Looks like I need to invest in a food scale. I do have a calorie counter for exercise but am questioning it's accuracy. I must be overestimating the calories I'm burning or underestimating what I'm eating...
  • I don't have a food scale. I do use measuring cups and spoons for just about everything. I do have a hard time figuring out what a "serving" is from recipes that I make.
  • Thanks! I don't have access to a gym right now. I mostly do various types of squats. I tend to stick with body weight exercises and 5 lbs. weights as that is what I have right now. I do have ankle weights. ETA: I do feel ok with the bent over rows if I hold the weight a certain way like you suggested.
  • I love Morning Star's Roasted Garlic and Quinoa. They are also the only vegan veggie burgers that they make to my knowledge.
  • I will often guess or try to pick something close to it but there have been times, especially at parties, weddings, etc., where I will skip that meal's entry for the day and write myself a note about it. I try to make the best choices I can in those situations, but it doesn't do me any good to worry about it.
  • I do not, but could you put it in a cup of hot herbal tea? I don't know anything about ingesting it, but it works wonders on acne and can help treat sunburn :)
  • http://www.familyfreshmeals.com/ My family and I have liked every recipe so far!
  • I do not have liver problems but a close family member has fatty liver disease so that's what got me thinking about it. Thanks Dianne for the link, helpful information.
  • I'm in the same boat! When times are tight I will skip meat a couple times a week and use tofu or beans instead. Pasta fagioli is cheap and delicious! 1 bag of dried northern beans, 2 cups of spiral pasta, 1 can no salt added tomatoes, a few carrots and celery stalks and an onion (and of course whatever herbs and…
  • I like mine sliced with a drizzle of lemon juice and a sprinkle of sea salt. Yummmm :) You can also dice them and toss them in a little Italian dressing for an easy cucumber side salad.
  • I am a SAHM to two girls ages 1 and 3. I also babysit an 8 month old and a 7 year old. I am set to lightly active and have 1200 cal/day. I eat back all exercise calories and have lost 24 lbs. since April 1.
  • Black with 1 packet of Stevia (or Splenda). Used to be addicted to the flavored creamer but realized how many calories that was when I had 3+ cups a day. Would much rather eat my cals. I did use the unsweetened vanilla almond milk for a bit and that is pretty good.
  • I used to work as a Medical Assistant in a doctors office. I have seen them rx for 10 days before. If you are concerned about it you should really call your doctor. And, at the risk of sounding rude, if you trust your co-workers advice more than your doc's, it might be time to find a new one.
  • I don't use coconut oil, but I do use olive oil in moderation. I have a kitchen spritzer from pampered chef- no chemicals, just add the oil of your choice, pump and spray. Also saw your comment about vegetable broth- have you ever made your own vegetable stock?
  • I think it can be. My mother-in-law and I recently went grocery shopping together. We both filled our carts with the about the same amount of items. Mine was mostly produce, whole grain pasta, dairy- minimal junk. Hers was mainly frozen meals and junk food. Her bill was about $40 less. This is where it's debatable, though-…
  • Most of the time, yes. But I do not force myself to eat them back if I am not hungry.... and sometimes I drink them back with a glass of wine ;)
  • Congratulations! I would plan on gaining at least 20 lbs. I'm pretty sure average pregnancy weight gain is 25-35 lbs. and you should be eating 200-400 calories extra each day. That's really not that much, though- so think of it as eating for 1.25 not 2 lol. Stay away from high nitrite foods like processed deli meats. There…
  • Congrats! You look great :)
  • 26 y/o female Height: 5'1 Highest Weight: 196 (pregnant) 186 (not pregnant) Lowest Weight: 145 (HS- thought I was fat then :/ ) Current Weight: 165 Goal Weight: 135
  • I have tried Slim Fast a few times over the past 10 years. Never really saw results any time I tried it. Just ended up hungry and wanting to binge! Also- their Chocolate Royale shake should be called Chalk-late... yuck :/
  • Hi! I have 2 girls, 11 months and 3 years. I just got back down to the weight I was when I got pregnant with the first! Wish I had been motivated to lose it sooner. It is awesome that you are here- I think you'll love it. I've lost 18 lbs. in my 2 months of using this site. Good luck to you :)
