Hi! Haven't been on the boards forever, but I want to get serious again. I started Whole30 today and the accountability will be helpful. I'm less concerned about my weight and more concerned about my waist measurement (since I lift pretty regularly, my weight will fluctuate without my body fat increasing) so I'll post…

Thanks so much for the responses! I cut out the spicy food (which I also love!!) and have been eating lots of chicken, white rice, potatoes, and apples - not great for losing weight but it must be working because I'm starting to feel better! I'll have to check out activated charcoal. I've read about it but it's nice to…

I spend about 3 hours on one day to prep most of my food for the week (chicken, beans, rice, and veggies) and it saves me about 30 minutes to an hour every day. It also ensures that I always have clean food that I can eat right away, so if I'm tired/starving/lazy, I can still eat a good meal. In other words, I totally…

I like savory steel cut oats... nom!! Still trying out new versions, but I still with these two for the most part. I top my bowl with an egg to round out the meal. Sesame oats: cook with chicken stock, ginger, and sesame seeds. Top with sesame oil ( I use 1 tsp), soy sauce, chili sauce, and green onions to taste. Truffle…

When i first started, it took me close to a year to lose 20lbs ( I had difficulty altering my habits). I saw the most effective weight loss by increasing my gym time and cutting out booze. In the last month before I reached my goal weight, I was fortunate enough to have the time and had built up the endurance, so I was…

It's so silly, but pushups. I've been doing them for years (military and such), and no matter my weight or fitness level, I can never do more than 15 strong ones before I have to do the knee modification. Frustrating, especially during trying to do those spider pushup things! I also have the same issue with the side lunges…

I'm 5'8", started at 178. my first goal was 155, and I recently hit that and decided to keep going. i think the mini-goals helped me. my goal is between 135-140, but I'll stop once I get to the BF% that's im comfortable with. just have to maintain the diet for that!

i don't step my feet out as far if i'm modifying squats. i also keep my feet shoulder width apart after I step back or forward. that makes it easy to balance. oh, and don't lean your torso forward. that's how I make squats easier, especially when I have to do a lot of them quickly. and you're right, they are crazily…

I'm all about the savory oats: sesame oil. soy sauce, chili sauce, and green onions; mushrooms, olive oil, salt, pepper, and a little parmesan; salsa and avocado. Then I either add an egg or a veggie-tofu stirfry. These work better with steel cut oats rather than rolled; I noticed that rolled oats naturally have a sweeter…

Hi :) I'm new to this thread, but I've been looking at the recipes and they look so good!! Here's a couple things I've made in the last 12 hour. :D autumn hash browns- 1c. frozen shredded hash browns 1/2c. mashed butternut squash ( I bought a bag of cubed squash, nuked it for a minute, and mashed) 1/2c raw kale, torn into…

I drove my last 350 miles out of like... 3k or something, last night, and I won't have to drive longer than 10 miles down the (literally one) main road. and that will be to the gym!! The gym here is alright.. there's treadmills that aren't bumpy or lag. there's also zumba classes :D that's…
