I am in the same boat - into strength training and learn from this group! Just started a month back. I currently train on weight machines and am scared of the barbell! Reading and learning about this and hope to get into lifting!

1220 seems very low for you. I set myself to 1457 (TDEE - 20%) and then eat some of my exercise calories (if i have any).. Use lin below to arrive at how many calories you should consume. Very low calorie intake is not sustainable. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/

you are eating too less - calculate your TDEE , BMR and what you should eat using this site. Think about getting a fitbit or something similar - it really put the guessing out of my activity level on a day to day basis.. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I have lost just about 4 lbs over 8 weeks since i started MFP - but i look so very different and the inch loss is great! The scale is the only frustrating thing - but i try and ignore it as long as i am seeing some kind of improvement :-)
