I love it here too! Feel free to add me as well!

Strength training actually helps your metabolism so you burn more calories. At first you may stop losing or even gain weight, but your body gets more used to the strength training you should start burning fat and calories better than before.

That is odd. Maybe it is a malfunction. I am 5 foot 3in and I weigh 156 lbs and it has me at over 1400 calories.
-
You won't bulk if you use small weights like 3lb or 5lb and do lots of reps.
-
I've never heard of that! Where do you get it?

My biggest change has been portion control. MFP made me realize that I don't have to restrict what I eat, just how much I eat. I used to eat the same size portions as my husband, and now I realize what a HUGE mistake that was. So now I eat smaller meals, with healthy little snacks throughout the day.

I need more supportive friends too. I'll add you!

Well said!! Totally agree!

No, but what is it? It sounds interesting!

Totally understand!

Welcome and good luck!

I actually had the opposite happen. Now that I eat fresh meat and produce, I spend much less money than I did with the prepackaged and processed foods. Here are some ideas: Try bananas, apples, yogurt, string cheese. All those make cheap and healthy snacks. Brown rice and whole grain pastas make for inexpensive side dishes…

I'm in! Not too good with spreadsheets though.

Welcome! This site is great! The weight may come off slow but I know that it will stay off because this isn't just a fad diet but a healthy lifestyle. Congrats on your choice! Add me as a friend!

I feel the same way! I have also recently lost just over 10 pounds, and I only have about 35 more to lose to get to my goal. Just this weekend I went to a family get-together and nobody noticed. My husband says I look great but it would be nice to hear it from someone else too.

I like to cut them into strips like French fries and then put seasoning and a little olive oil on them and bake. They are so good if you love Fries like I do but soooo much healthier.

Hi and welcome! I have been on MFP for almost 2 months and I have lost 11 pounds. I love the motivation and advice. It is great. Feel free to add me as a friend for support! Good luck!

Try eating more calories. When you set your goal, MFP can tell you how many calories you should eat a day based on your weight. And it factors in a 500 calorie deficit to lose weight. It also might be that you are building muscle, and since muscle weighs more than fat you might not see the scale change but you would notice…

Makes sense...must be why new moms have a hard time losing weight. Thanks!

I've heard that you should add around 300-500 calories. You can do this in your food log just type in breastfeeding. I am breastfeeding, but I personally don't do it because I tried adding the extra calories and it just made me gain weight instead. So now I just try not to go under my recommended calories for my weight. Of…

Thanks everyone! I really do need to plan ahead. I ate at Costa Vida Saturday and had enchiladas (my absolute fav there) and found out after that it was over 1000 calories. Good thing I only drank water with my meal!

Your pics didn't show. But awesome on weight loss! Ten pounds in two months is amazing! Be proud!

I am a nursing mom. I lost a bunch of weight when my baby was born, then I couldn't lose anything for months. In January I started MFP and I have actually lost almost 10 pounds. I make sure to go over a little on what MFP recommends for calories for me to lose one pound a week. I also make sure to eat all my exercise…

I did that too! Very fun. Did 30 day challenge and lost 5 pounds in last week of challenge. Changing up my routine this month but next month I plan on trying the challenge on the hard level.

Don't quit now! 20 pounds in 3 and a half months is awesome! Definitely not something to be depressed about. Keep at it and I'm sure you will start to "see" the results. Also, try strength training with 2-5lb weights. That will tone your muscle so that clothes will fit better to keep up with your awesome weight loss. Keep…
