  • i train both ways, but i compete high bar. 630 platform best, 725 rev green minis in the gym. and if you carry the bar high enough to feel it in your neck, its too high. it should be resting in/on your traps.
  • RPS hold meets in the bristol va area at Mayhem Strength and Conditioning. others feds are in the elizabethton tn area at Evolution Sports.
  • lol... yeah, the word filter on here is very inconsistent at best.

  • the brand/type of knee wrap makes a huge difference. i get about 100# out of my Inzer grippers with a decent, not cranked wrap. ill be using Overkill wraps this meet. supposed to be a ton of rebound out of the hole, and these will most definitely be cranked tight..... on a side note, i did 585 for a smooth and fast NO wrap…

  • not quite just rolling out of the bed, lol... i still train like im working towards a meet every day. i work up to a daily training max, then do back off sets at 80-90% depends on the specifics of the day. i feel like this keeps my body better prepared and way less sore. if i do a deload then try to work back up, it takes…

  • New goals for this year..... 700 squat 400 bench 650 deadlift 1700+ total for GPC Worlds in Sept. currently platform numbers are 625 squat, was good for 650-660 370 bench, was good for 380-385 605 deadlift, might have been able to grind out 620-625 1600 total.
  • slingshot cuff. works on knee or elbow.
  • with what ive seen in your videos lately, you should be very very close right now. have you selected your next meet?
  • good luck on the 1k total..... im currently working through some of the worst meet prep ive had to date.... it is sucking severely bad. bench is off, squat is off.... deads are the only thing feeling remotely decent, but unfortunately ive only got to deadlift 2 times this entire meet prep, lol....
  • good luck on the 72kg class!!! i know the feeling of needing a mental break.. it gets overwhelming at times. AWESOME!!! kill it!! best of luck!!

  • zora, there are spf meets in cali.... if im not mistaken, Mark Bell might even host them. i know they have had some at Super Training Gym in the past year. Womens Pro/Am at Super training and also Back Yard Meet of the Century is held there. keep an eye open for them to be added to the line up for the year.

  • i guess i could have put that in here, lol..... took the past 3 weeks to deload and take a break from the heavy stuff. slowly ramping the weight back up this week and next. meet prep starts first week of Feb. slowly cutting to get to the 275 class, but not worried about that for my March meet. ill still be in the 308 class…

  • already in the club, just working on moving up the ladder, lol... have a meet march 21, and looking for 1600+ total. will give me a 400+ wilks score.
  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuWwNdnBN7g here is my last meet PR 570# currently my training is based on 625# goal for my next meet. im in the Masters 40-44 308# class. working down to the 275 class for GPC World Championships in Las Vegas in Sept 2015 and making a run at the GPC World record of 1716#.
  • no need to feel like those are not good numbers... with projected 1RM off your lifts you are in the 964lb range... not bad at all for 180lb male that hasnt been strength training very long.
  • if it is your first meet, DO NOT cut to drop to a lower class... just stay in the range you are in and have a great time.
  • bw: 300 1RM: 405 still a little to go to hit 1.5 on bench.... now squat and deadlift.. thats another story. both are over 2.0x+
  • after my working sets of 325x3, 335x2, and 405x1 i finished off with a 225x20 close grip burn down set. have to admit, it felt really good. great overall chest/tri pump...
  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39tEtsqCEVo watch this video, then re watch your own video and you will see what adjustments you need to make.
  • you talkin to me, lol.....
  • my last meet would be a 370.25 wilks and if i wouldnt have went overboard on my last deadlift and went with what i know i could pull, it would have been 381.70. now that im training for my Worlds Qualifying meet im looking to drop to 275 and total 1625+ or a 420.00+ wilks.... ill take those numbers
  • thanks... ill be happy when i have 4 plates on the bench paused... its my next long term goal. my next meet in march im projecting to hit 620+ squat/375 bench/610+ deadlift. gives me 4 months of training so we will see...
  • i do 225x20 for sets of 3-5... my meet PR paused is 350 pretty easily, so im figuring touch and go would be in the 375-380 range. ive not tested touch and go in quite a while, but last time i did, about 6 months ago, it was 365.
  • current meet PRs... Squat 570 Bench 350 Deadlift 535 total 1455... 4.8 x body weight....
  • it was great i had a blast!!!
  • my newest PR from my meet saturday.... and yes i am a screamer at times, lol https://youtube.com/watch?v=nuWwNdnBN7g&list=UUUTECkdnYTZPhgEAsP4KhOQ
  • squats are looking to be my saving grace this coming meet. new 4 rep PR of 505 the other night. still had enough in me for at least 1 maybe 2 more. 1.5 weeks out from my meet, and feeling pretty good.
