  • I currently have a Sun Conure on my head as I write this. His name is Shemesh and he often hangs out with my when I'm on the computer. :-)
  • I say yay! I wasn't so keen on Matt Smith because I really liked David Tennent in the role, but he won me over. Matt did an amazing job and it will be hard to see him go. Peter Capaldi was great in the Pompeii episode. I'm sure he'll be a great Dr. I can't wait for the 50th anniversary special and the new season!
  • I actually chickened out and didn't log what I ate before and after the fast. I might have gone overboard for one meal, but I was good for the day and I lost weight, so I'm not going to sweat it. I'm so glad that fasting season is over for a while. We have about 3 months before the 10th of Tevet. Shana Tova!
  • You have a beautiful cat! His eyes are breath taking. I voted for him.
  • Great idea. What's the challenge?
  • I've never heard of this before. Nice.
  • Right now, I still have clothes and I think I'll be OK until Wed. afternoon, but if I do run out, I'd wash, but only what I need. (I guess I'm not that frum)
  • I actually like to eat salty foods before a fast - they help you retain water. If you're going to do salty, just make sure to drink extra. Don't worry about the scale if you retain some of the water - it's only temporary.

  • The Psak that I got was that you shouldn't add to what you already do (if there is music involved), but if you exercise to music, and it's kavuah, you can keep it up. We shower, but we don't do laundry.
  • Lifting is a great idea. I know that you've been doing it a while. How did you get into it?
  • It's nice to meet you! You can feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like.
  • All I could eat was bread, potatoes, rice, peas and carrots, red cabbage salad, humus and challah. (I don't eat meat, but the meat they had there was shnitzel and roasted chicken in skin, so I didn't see that as a great option eaither). I'm really glad that I brought fruit with me. Besides that, it was a really lovely…
  • Looks like he's smiling :) That's a good place to start.

  • Thank you. Easy fast to you as well. What are people breaking their fast with?

  • There seems to be a lot of vegetarian/vegan geeks out there! I can geek out with the best of them. Feel free to add me.
  • I hope to start then too. Add me, add me :)
  • Whovian cookbook? What do they have in it? Fish sticks in pudding?
  • I loved it. The way in connected the old series to the new one was great. I totally didn't expect it. (I'm trying to be vague so that I don't spoil anything, but I could really go on about it.) I have to say that it was really well done. The one thing that I would have liked to see is Bones taking a larger role. The…
  • Guacamole, salsa and corn chips are always fun. I also love making mock chopped liver, but that's a bit high in calories.
  • I like the salad plate idea. I'm going to have to try it. I make everything from scratch too. My challah is 70% whole wheat and doesn't have any eggs or sugar in it. I use 1/2 date honey to sweeten it. It's about 1kg flour for 2 medium challahs plus 3 rolls. I have no ideas how many calories it is. How do you figure that…
  • I cut up watermelon - it's something like 42 calories a cup. It's fun to eat and refreshing.
  • Someone that I know rescued chickens that didn't produce enough eggs, and were going for slaughter. Those chickens lead a really good life and they still give eggs (even if they don't give enough for the egg industry standards.) I don't eat them, but I could see where there is room to add them once in a while. My daughter,…
  • I'm vegan and I'm often over on protein. You're welcome to look at my diary to see where I get it. (Not that I believe you need as much protein as they say in the first place)
  • That must have felt really, really good. You've accomplished a lot. It must feel great to be half way there.
  • Way to go! You look amazing!
  • The only people that I've told are close family members and my best friend (who I've been trying to convince to join MFP with me). These are people I know what we to succeed. I don't want to tell anyone else because I don't want to make a big deal about it. I have a fear that one of my "friends" will root for me to fail.…
  • I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that Kiara's passing over the rainbow bridge went smoothly. I hope that you might find some comfort in this article http://thepetwiki.com/wiki/Rainbow_Bridge. My heart is with you.
  • Happy to help out. 0: Are you are strict vegan, ethical vegan, or strict vegetarian, or other? I'm a strict vegan for ethical reasons - I don't wear leather, wool, pearls and don't use products tested on animals. 1. How has your health changed since your transition into veganism? Has it improved? My health hasn't changed.…
