took me 18 months to lose all the weight (and a few pounds more)and i do still have a bit of a shelf(def some lose skin) just give it time do cardio and ab workout. I've done lots of cardio but am just now adding in some strength and ab focused work outs. So maybe it will help. As far as your second comment just find a…

Fuel how you fueled in training even if you dont feel you need it at that point. Talk yourself up. I never feel like i've hitten "the wall" but around mile 22 it starts getting a bit mentally draining. I just remind myself it's only 4 miles left. IMO once you hit a certain point you pretty much know whatever happens you…

I wear them for recovery and they seem to help

i have a few that got "loose" after my last race.....So i trimmed them down so they wouldnt snag, fall off, etc.

Treadmill an option? I end up doing most of my runs after my daughter is asleep and my husband is home. So usually 8 pm at the earliest.

http://www.armpocket.com/ mine holds my iphone and 4 gels

I agree. Once you have a good base it's more mental. For an average/slow runner the peak mileage is only about 4.5 hours a week(I used Hal higdon) My first race ever was a 1/2 and I struggled way more with that than my marathons.

It's really a shame in this day and age there is no solution to the whipped cream situation. All this time wasted on medical science. Pfff

i did rock n roll las vegas marathon. ate a heavy breakfast and did mu usual cliff bar 2 hours pre race, worked perfectly

My BMI is 24, I wear a size 2, and am a distance runner. I was obese when i wore a 4........BMI is a poor indicator. Fat percentage is wayyyy better

This. The color of your urine gives a reasonable estimate of your fluid status.

i also live in AZ. I am doing rock n roll az in january. There is the sedona marathon and 1/2 feb 1 and phoenix marathon i believe is in march. You are right though. Its tricky to find az races so i've been looking in california as well.
-
definately. I was crazy and did my 2nd full marathon a week after my 1st full. My plan was to race the first one and survive the 2nd. I actually PRed the 2nd one on a hillier course (go figure). My focus during the 5 weeks was recovery not training. I didn't even run the two weeks after the first marathon. You need to…

This. I see a basic massage therapist a few days before a race and postrace. Always see the same therapist so they know my body and i know their work. For something injury specific i would see someone more specific.

I did end up doing Rock n roll Vegas full marathon and actually got a PR. 5:11:37. 2.5 minutes off my chicago time
-
in flagstaff but we frequently visit my grandmother in mesa. I am dying to do R and R phoenix in January
-
I would absolutely do it. I wouldn't plan on a PR and allow time to take it easy if need be. Staying fit can actually have many benefits including lowering your risk for complications. I'm no doctor but i am a nurse
-
This except husband. I'm actually looking into selling two coach purses to pay for a race registration in january. I have a problem...........
-
I did!!! It was my first. 5:14 which considering my first 1/2 last sept was 3:08 i consider it pretty darn good!! The best part, I felt amazing. Never hit a wall, slowed down between 22-25(actually was pacing with 4:50 up until that point) but never felt miserable or anything. I was sore for two days afterward and i've…

whoot whoot for extended BFing. My daughter turns 2 in August. Biggest thing is to remember it can be a slow weight loss. Try and stick to eating healthy fats. I also illiminated my extra calories around 15 months. I totally agree that if supply drops it is easy to bring it back up. I know too many people who end up the…

you could if you don't watch what you eat. You can be hungrier but keep everything in moderation and you should be fine. I'm actually losing weight. And as others have said add some weight training
-
I typically work out after my daughter is in bed at night, but i am not a morning person at all!!
-
Baby is way too early and you need to establish BFing first. Wait a few months at least. After that just listen to your baby and your body. The biggest thing is to keep hydrated and eat healthy fats. Balance out your exercise and diet to make sure you are still getting enough fuel. And lose it slowly!!! I've successfully…

i work 3-5 12 hour night shifts. Maybe try breaking up what you eat. Example if you have a few snacks and then lunch on top of it break apart lunch and only have the main part of the meal and whatever accompanies it spread through out the day as well. I usually pack a bag of pretzels. or maybe even divide up popcorn into a…
