ive been putting my iphone 6 in my fitbelt no problems. but my case is on back order still soooo...........

I did the marathon last year. I thought overall it was a well put on race and i would do it again.

I highly recommend reading wheat belly. Not necessarily directly what your asking but there are links between wheat and the brain.

I'm on day 7 of the cleanse. Not planning to do the 24 day challenge. I think much like anything else you can see the same results without the system. I've definately seen results however i eliminated gluten from my diet at the same time i started the cleanse and i believe that has actually been the real reason for the…

I am in the same boat. my tests for CD are negative but eliminating gluten has hugely improved a lot of issues so two of my doctors highly recommend I continue it. I have been reading wheat belly and it has tons of great information. I would continue to have a strict gf diet. No it doesnt affect your intestines the way cd…

is it your first? Personally i would just run it as is and not bother with the extra miles. If i absolutely need to get more miles in when i have a race i will usually do the race, go home and add the extra miles.

im in a similar place and i recommend getting tested first. I was off gluten for 3 weeks decided i want to be tested and going back to eating it i'm having huge digestive issues. The reason to be tested are that celiacs is an autoimmune disease that can have severe implications. For example one of the reasons i want to be…

i don't have a thigh gap. I run marathons instead :)
-
I would not try to race both especially for your first marathon. And your marathon goal really needs to be finishing. my mcmillan prediction was 10 minutes faster than i came in for my 1st marathon.
-
I've maxed out in the low 40s for my marathon training. I could probably go faster if i had more miles under my belt though. all depends what you want

I've found i can do chews for halves but my stomach will not tolerate them for fulls....

trazadone, zanax, ativan take your pick

I can only speak to insanity and ive only been doing it a week. I like it because i definitely feel the full body workout. It is a difficult workout and I'm glad i went into it with a very good cardiac base. I imagine T25 has less water breaks maybe??? The beginning workouts for insanity are really only about 40 minutes…

i love love love another mother runner! Another fave although not specific to running is the jillian michaels show.
-
I would add the extra miles in. Due to my work schedule I never do long runs on a set day of the week just because it doesn't work for me. So I would just swap days or add in the extra miles
-
I average a gel an hour or so. I have switched over to the huma gels now though.

a lot of the newer research isn't really in support of high carbs and running anymore actually. I personally do enjoy a cliff bar and banana pre race.
-
this for sure. I've done 1/2s two weeks apart. and marathons a month apart. Its all expectation. I knew it would be unlikely to PR and was focussed on completion
-
Actually they did offer race day pick up you just had to shell out about 40 bucks for it.
-
personally ive enjoyed their races. With the tour pass the cost isn't bad at all. I can see it being pricy for the half but if you look at prices for full marathons i feel its mostly comparable. All races are going up, Chicago is 185 this year, NWM is what 200. I paid 100 for RNR phoenix and 145 for RNR vegas. our local…

I live in Flagstaff. Dont really know if i would bother if it's for a short trip. I still get pretty short of breath at times.

I started Rock n roll las vegas like that. mentally drained by mile 8 having no clue how i was going to be able to push through it. That was my PR rate. Sounds to me like you mentally werent into it which can totally happen. Dont let this run get you questioning what you are capable of.

I could have written this pretty much word for word. I work night shift and have a 2 year old so a decent amount of my running is spent on the treadmill after my daughter is in bed. Too much mommy guilt to work and run during her waking hours. I did all my marathon training on a treadmill. Long runs were at a 2 incline and…

with your last marathon being just under 5 hours i would focus on the 4:30 goal first and work your way down. I'm not saying a BQ is impossible but i think its a big goal for to BQ for your second marathon. Some day i would like to but i have too much on my plate to be able to train how i would need to even come close.

Thanks for all the replies. Overall race was pretty good, don't have too much to complain about considering I've only ever done road races. It wasn't too much of a trail for some as it was a lot of dirt/gravel roads but for me it was a big change. I actually enjoyed the rugged climb and descent the most. My worst 1/2 time…

Thanks for the tips!!! David, getting lost is my biggest fear!!! I did ask at the local running store and they said my road shoes should be ok for this one.

This!!! All my life i've been anti daylight savings.................and last year i finally moved to Arizona where we simply don't do it :)
-
you could do the first as a training run
-
Roughly 30ish miles. Training is kinda sucky, did some back to back races so been recovery/taper mode a lot versus actual training for performance. Average 4 days a week. Marathon PR is 5:11 half PR 2:25, so i have a lot of room for improvement. I've never done a timed 5k, just color vibe.

I've hit the one week mark. You just have to stop drinking it. cold turkey. I agree maybe one a day won't hurt but i was drinking many many so i knew it was a problem.
