I agree with cmriverside. When I was actively trying to lose weight I weighed in daily and then averaged my numbers weekly. I usually lost .5 (I wasn't trying to lose fast) pounds even if the numbers varied by 3 or 4 pounds daily. They have apps to average your weight for you too.

I like to eat one big meal, I always have. Then after having babies I kept trying to "diet" and I'd eat 3 small meals a day. I was miserable and struggled to lose the weight. Then IF comes along and I'm like, "oh yeah one big meal, the way you used to eat when you weren't overweight." A big aha moment. I'm back to happy :)

I sip a nice warm cup of chicken broth or vegetable broth. The salt might make me have a little water weight but the calories still fit.

Get a food scale if you don't have one.

To late to edit my comment. For some reason I read this as night time snacking not binging. I don't think a hobby is going to stop something as serious as binging.

Are you bored at night? When I'm bored and watching tv I always want to undo the day by eating something like popcorn with butter or chips. Mostly crispy salty things. Maybe if you have some hobby to take your mind off of food?

Are you using fresh mesa or dried mesa flour? The calories should be on the package of mesa flour, but I'm not sure if your using fresh.

I'm not really answering your question about knees because I don't know, but I wanted to give you encouragement on losing the weight. I lost 40 pounds while being a complete couch potato. I just stuck to the 1200 calories and I lost about a half pound a week. I weighed daily so the fluctuations didn't bother me. I like one…

I've been in maintenance for 11 months. I weigh daily and have a top weight of 125. I eat whatever I want until I weigh 125 and then when I hit that number I just drop a couple pounds, back to the old 1200 cals a day, I'm not recording any more though. I've been counting calories for 40 years so I have a really good idea…

Sorry about your fight :( I find crunchy foods better when I'm angry. My go to is popcorn. Do you have a convenience store on the way to work? It might have a few less calories.

5 pounds in a month is a fantastic loss, congrats! :) I'm just writing to say that sometimes I check out workout dvd's from the library so I can try them, then if I don't like them, or their too hard for me, I didn't waste my money.

I like to go to allrecipes.com because you use the search ingredients function and it will pull up recipes for you. So if you find things on sale you can buy it and figure out what to make with it. You can always look at recipes and try to make a yummy unhealthy one into something a bit healthier. Sorry I don't have a…

These must eat breakfast news stories are the exact thing that kept me fat. I'm so happy someone here on mfp pointed me in the direction to do some research on intermittent fasting. Once I realized that, for me, one late snack and one big meal, is what finally worked.

Do you have a medical issue that makes you have to eat every two hours? I'm just wondering because until I found out that I really like one big meal of 1200 calories at night. Before when ate 3 meals I found it really hard to stick to a calorie deficit. Edit to say I second the food scale. Best thing I ever bought.
