  • I use one for a week usually. It goes in the dishwasher on the weekends. It never really goes home with me, goes to work and to the gym and back to work and so on. I do rinse it out a lot at work. I would maybe wash it more if the brush at work wasn't scarier than the water bottle. :)
  • When I went to a trainer, I paid $60/hour. I went weekly for a while than every other week. I liked having someone push me and someone to write out my workouts. Part of the hour was also talking though my diet, what was working and what wasn't. For me it was money well spent.
  • I lost over 100 pounds without giving up alcohol. Like you, I cut back and keep it to 1-2 nights a week. There are times when I have more. I also started making sure there were no late night snacks after drinking. That proved easier than I thought it would be for me and I am sure helped quite a bit. Like others have…
  • This, they all get my heart rate up pretty quickly. I do most of it as tabatas when doing a cardio workout
  • Anytime Fitness Pro: Cost, Cleanliness, Lots of space, not overly crowded, new owner just got some brand new equipment and added things like battle ropes and TRX straps, open 24/7 Cons: Only one power rack, but I can usually work around that, no pool Local Community Center Pro: Cost (because I get a discount for working in…
  • I have a Shefit and nothing moves! I bought mine at an expo for a run, pretty entertaining...I tried on a couple of sizes over a shirt in the middle of the Expo since the dressing room was being used, turned around and there was a friend of mine with her phone up and ready to take a picture
  • It is more work to eat out, but I really do enjoy it, I just like to plan for it. I have been limiting myself to 2 meals out a week. Last night was an unplanned one and the bartender was laughing at me because I couldn't decide what I wanted(not a ton of healthy options, but they know me and know how I order, lol)....I…
  • I prefer strength, but do both. 2-3 days are geared more to strength, there is usually some sort of Crossfit type work in there that gets my heart rate up...AMRAPs and EMOM, I enjoy those, but the majority is more just strength. Then 2-3 days a week I do kickboxing. I count that as my all cardio days. I do enjoy that for…
  • Right there with you. Hopefully I will do better in March.
  • I think if you are ok with the swim and the bike, you should be ok to finish the tri. I did one as my first fitness goal as an adult after losing a significant amount of weight. I was in decent shape and could do the swim distance (mine was open water, which was a challenge), I could bike the distance no problem. My…
  • I started losing weight when I was 38, I'm 46 now and I feel great. Better than I did for most of my 30s. I feel like I am a good 10 years younger than I am. Sometimes I have to remind my trainer of my age :)
  • 2) debone the entire chicken and keep the pieces
  • I agree, I know plenty of people who do Crossfit with no injury and I have a friend who owns a Crossfit gym and he is very strict on form. The workout doesn't pay attention to form is very generalized .
  • 5 cups of all purpose flour would be 2200 calories... per slice would be at least 137.50
  • My personal trainer gets my texts when I am excited about anything fitness related. He also gets my whining when things aren't going well with my diet or exercise...poor guy. I used to tell my friends, but when I hit a PR on something and tell them they would just look at my like I was crazy to be excited about anything…
  • Not to eliminate anything from my diet that I want to eat again. If I expect to eat it again, learn how to incorporate it now since it's not realistic that I will never eat those things again.
  • I can usually cure the cravings with a substitute, for pizza, I roast a portabella mushroom and top it like a pizza. If that doesn't work, I make plans for the weekend to go to dinner and get whatever I am craving. If I have the plans made, I can usually handle the cravings. I will say that being able to cook and enjoying…
  • I lost about 100# while on Lexapro, I've gained some back, but that's my fault, not the Lexapro
  • I go to 9Rounds and my trainer told me to consider that as my cardio. I can be sore after the class also, but generally I go to get my heart rate up. I am in the boat of hating every minute of being on a stationary bike or a treadmill or whatever is available, so this is my favorite option
  • Shoulder replacement could be a possibility, but not recommended at this point. Kind of in the bad, but not that bad category and I am younger than they like to do it on. Orthoscopic surgery is in the we could do it, but you aren't a great candidate for it and the results would be less that optimal. I am not ready to go…
  • I didn't crave sweets as much until I lost weight. Before I lost weight I was one of the people that would scrape frosting off cakes, now I would like a bowl of frosting with the cake. Doesn't seem right.
  • Well, went to two doctors since one didn't explain anything to me or really do anything. The second one did another x-ray and ultra sound in the office. It is arthritis, small tear in the rotator cuff, bone spurs and some other things he described as odd when looking at the ultra sound. Now trying to figure out how to fix…
  • I really didn't notice much change in my buoyancy when I was losing weight. I have always floated well. I find swimming much easier at a lower weight. Olympic swimmers certainly have no problem swimming and they have very little body fat :)
  • Awesome job. I never noticed until I looked at pictures of myself. It was also at around 40 pounds less. Others saw it, I just didn't.
  • I like it, hate to clean up. During the week I am not home until 6:30 or 7, so I may cook once and eat the left overs the rest of the week. I do some batch cooking on the weekends to have options in the freezer. I am single, so that is super easy. Lately I have been doing the sheet pan meals to cook for myself, cleanup is…
  • yes, for me...a big yes. One day off of physical activity is fine, usually two is still ok, but if I take 3 days off in a row for some reason, I start noticing a spike in my anxiety level. Even on vacation I find some way to exercise, I never thought I would be one to do that.
  • I lost around 100 pounds and went from 44 g/h to a 36g. I so wanted to lose more cup size, but no such luck. As far as getting fitted, it is amazing how much better the bra feels comfort wise and how good they look when you are properly fitted. I am guessing the larger, the more it makes a difference, but I could be wrong.…
  • I have a free timer app on my iPhone that has Tabata, AMRAP an Stopwatch options. It seems to work well. It just shows up as Timer as the name of the App on my phone.
  • I am having a harder time this go around. I lost 130 pounds in 2009-2010, I have gained 50 back and having such a hard time getting back to eating at a deficit. Luckily I never stopped working out or it could be worse I guess. Finding a happy balance in life is what I am struggling for.
  • Dairy is a huge culprit for me also. I would turn to Greek Yogurt as my go to when I needed something sweet or in addition to my lunch. So on top of any dairy I was already eating I added the yogurt and sometimes more than one a day. It make me break out worse than when I was a teenager. I still eat dairy, but I try and…
