I have struggled with this also. I usually give myself some wiggle room for a small 200 calorie intake after dinner. As they say, once you start, it can be difficult to stop. Going by weight would be most accurate. Just remember, the nutritional value you see on packages is an estimate in itself, so it's best not to over obsess on the numbers. Once I measure things out a few times from my meal rotation, I usually just eyeball it.

I'm not a doctor either, but I once stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. If you walk/jog/run, your calves/thighs will become more defined and depending on how much fat you harbor in those regions, may even shrink. Good luck, though.

Unfortunately, weight loss is not black and white. There are so many variables. My suggestion, go on holiday, enjoy, expect to gain a pound or two. Come back and do what you have been doing as it seems to be working for you. Good luck
