HALP! Heavy Lifting Made Me SUPAH Bulky!!!

Here I am in July 2011 at around 180# (I'm 5'9"):
I've always had an active lifestyle but over the course of a few years some excess weight snuck up on me when I started back at school and fell into a more sedentary routine.
This is me in March of the following year after getting back into a good routine of weightlifting and regular physical activity @170#:
And here I am in July 2013 at around 165#:
I lift weights three times a week, do cardio, and eat a small deficit when I want to lose weight. I like the slow and steady approach.
Thanks for sharing all your transformations. Pleased to add mine to the mix :-)
Cheers!

Here's another pic of me in August 2011 halfway through a two-day bike event I was participating in. I hadn't started weight training yet:

Lifting made me bulky too and I LOVE it:) I looked like this after I had my second baby:( YIKES!! (159lbs, 4'11)
]
Lost some weight(15 lbs) doing p90x/insanity but still looked like a marshmallow. Started Stronglifts 5x5 in Feb. of this year. I have gotten so much definition and lost 18ish more pounds. I feel like a rock star every time I deadlift weights that are heavier than me:) Before, I struggled to lift my very small kids that weigh 35 and 26 lbs.
I would rather be "bulky" than fluffy any day of the week!!!! (123lbs)
I am not done yet but wanted to share my experience with heavy lifting!10 -

I've only just started in the gym and have been started light... And on weight machines and not free weights.
I'm doing 12.5kg on the chest press and 40kg on the leg press... Literally only been going for a couple of weeks though and am starting up from rehabilitation for a health complication.
Getting trim and fit will be my aim.
You ladies really are inspirational and sexy and definitely not bulky! Sign me up!0 -

So glad I came across this thread! I am starting to lift weights more and do less cardio (well I'm currently at NO cardio since I knocked a tendon loose in my foot). I haven't been worried about bulking up, but I have been worried about not being able to lose enough weight! Ready to start0
