I've had mine (XLS?) for several years but haven't ever really committed to it. I want to...I just don't know what to do. I have the videos, I need to work it into my life.

I was down quite a few pounds when I entered my Ph.D program and gained all my weight back and then some. I've got more that 100 to lose, but I am here and doing well. Looking to be more involved and successful!

You both can add me. My kids are much older now but I wasn't much older than you Nvarela when I had both kids.

I am not a gigantic fan of shakes, either. I did find some that I can tolerate and I have lost 18# over the last 30 days. Walmart (not my favorite retailer) sells a product by Body Fortress called Super Advantage whey isolate in vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. The first day I mixed with water and choked it down. Now I…

I drink a protein shake (130 cal) with some fruit (about 60 cal between raspberries and mango). It gives 30 grams of protein and is really filling. I think the comments from others are insightful -- I have to steer clear of having many carbs since they cause me to a) crash and b) eat more. Pay attention to how you feel…

To me, organic foods TASTE better. I had almost forgotten what oranges, peaches, raspberried, nectarines (etc.) REALLY tasted like until I ate organic ones a few years back. Also what I had forgotten about were FRUIT FLIES. When I bought non-organic foods for all the years I raised my kids (before organic came to the…

Feel free to add me. I am about 10 years older than you and have to lose the same amount. I log everyday. I am a graduate student nearing my final semester (and working on my big project) AND I am a mom supporting my son with disabilities through his undergraduate degree. My husband and eldest son live about 5 hours south…

Here is Bob Harper's Turkey Meatball recipe. It is FABULOUS -- 7 balls is one serving Bob Harper’s Turkey Meatballs Makes 4 servings INGREDIENTS 1 lb. extra-lean ground turkey ½ tsp. freshly ground black pepper 3 garlic cloves, minced ½ tsp. dried oregano ¼ cup finely chopped onion 1 large egg, beaten ¼ cup chopped parsley…

What an inspiration! I have had partial knee replacements (I'm in my early 40's) and am working on losing a lot of weight to try and improve my arthritis (and everything else!) Do you swim laps? Was it hard? Did you use a kickboard or anything? I teach at a University and have access to a pool (cold), even colder in the…

Feel free to add me. I track and log in daily. I try to comment to the people in my first two or three pages of comments. I am a grad student taking 3 classes, teaching 2 classes and supporting a significantly disabled son through his undergrad but I have energy for more.

This is also my suspicion. I like the advice to try and not take it personally. It would be very hard but perhaps you can get a fitbit or other motivational device. I was feeling down about my weight (I have over 100 # to lose) and thought I couldn't do it without surgery. I bought a fitbit flex, started riding my bike and…

I track and log in daily. I do a fair job of commenting as well. Feel free to add me if you'd like.

I have been here about as long as you have and have lost approximately the same amount of weight. I have over 100 to lose and I thought it was impossible to do. I am grateful to the support of my husband and my friends here at MFP. Logging every morsel I eat (and weighing it to be sure) has been incredibly helpful to me.…

I've been in that position before and I thought I could never stop. I then started taking some supplements that helped me curb what felt like out of control hunger for me. Those supplements include magnesium glycinate, L-Glutamine, Bifido mixture, and a product called Crave Control Plus. I buy them from a place that I've…

Mainly protein...Grilled chicken mostly or deli turkey. Today I ate an apple with hummus. I find that carbs make me crash.

I shop at JMS.com, Jessica London and at http://www.barenecessities.com There are varying prices between all those sites

Feel free to add me. I log my food daily and I comment as much as I can. I am a grad student so I get very busy (I teach, I study and I support my significantly disabled son in his 2nd year of college) but I am happy to be here for you!

Feel free to add me. I log my food daily. I am a grad student with a ton of obligations (including supporting my significantly disabled son through his second year of college) so my comments may be sporadic but I will be cheering you on and attempting to comment as much as possible.

Feel free to add me as a friend! I am wearing a Fitbit Flex and it is very motivational to me. I like checking my stats and seeing it on my wrist reminds me to at least get my steps in. Doing that is surprisingly motivational for me -- I have a TON of weight to lose (over 100 #) so I am very glad that something is working.…

SERE? Where'd you go?

I'm interested. Need invite :) Thanks!

I don't know that recipe but I've been buying Bolthouse Olive Oil Balsamic salad dressing. It is only 30 calories for 2T. I can really stretch it on my salads but with a low calorie count, I don't have to if I don't want too. At Target on the market side, the yogurt dressings and this one are refrigerated and near the…

From the perspective of behavioral psychology, it is usually good to "catch" someone doing good and praise them. That positive reward should make the person want to continue working hard. From my own experience, when someone tells me how hard I am working, how fast I am going, how long I've been doing something, it just…

You are welcome to add me. I log daily and understand military life -- we raised our kids on nearly every Navy base in California. Thank you for your service :)

Logging my food has been critical for me. If I can't see the numbers, they are invisible to me. When I log everything I eat, I know what I am putting in my body and then I can make informed decisions.

Is your husband deployed? My husband served in the Navy until he was disabled in a training injury. The Navy years were good to us. Have you been at this duty station for a while? Or is your husband a different kind of sailor?

WTG! That is so great!

Just started. Need to lose more than 100 but I am motivated with my fitbit and I log my food daily! Please add me!
