  • I was thinking a few months ago how cool it would be if there was an online site where those in weight transition could trade clothes with eachother. I think we're all in the same boat where we don't want to spend much money on pants because they're "transition" sizes. I think this is particularly true now... so many of us…
  • oh gosh I just read your post about Payless shoes!! From my experience, those shoes didn't work for me... my knees would even hurt!! I know they have cute and inexpensive shoes (soo tempting) but I had to cut myself off.
  • I feel ya! I'd always have an extra pair of shoes handy! I am on the flip side: after 4 years in the restaurant industry I just started an office job. I feel my metabolism dropping!!! yikes!! It is quite a change. Have you tried Dansko shoes? I found that the pricier shoes were really worth it when I was on my feet so…
  • My pant size and weight don't really correlate like I wish... I have lots o junk in the trunk, and I'm short (5'2"). That said: Currently, I wear a 10 or a 12 and I weigh 126 pounds. Back in the day when I wore an 8, I weighed 110-115. I wore size 14 when I weighed 138.
  • Good for you!! I love success stories!! :flowerforyou:
  • I'd eat one of the suggested 'healthy' cereals in the morning, and keep your 'special' cereal for dessert!! YUM! Just try not to make it a daily dessert :) oh, and make sure to measure it! It's really easy to accidentally have 1.5 cups instead of 3/4 cup or whatever the serving size is
  • wow, this is great timing for this post! I woke up STARVING, and last night was so hungry, I ate more than I should've, but it was seriously b/c I felt like I *needed* it, not b/c i craved it. I was wondering what was going on! I had no idea it that hunger was related to flo. I also am having a hard time motivating myself…
  • I actually did have to confront my previous upstairs neighbors about that and YES it was VERY AWKWARD. :embarassed: I am a very non-confrontational person so you can imagine it was pretty ridiculous for me to have to say something. Anyhow, there are so many factors it could be! your age, the relationship, your hormones,…
  • I have to vent!! I LOVE to watch The Biggest Loser while I'm working out! It's funny how it really gives me the incentive to keep going b/c I'm watching these people pour their hearts and souls into it on television. I have to say though... Jillian's tactics of breaking her team down (and maybe hoping to build them back…
  • Don't you worry! :flowerforyou: Be good to yourself for a few days after being sick! You'll be ready to easy back into it in a few days. Just the fact that you are aware of your fear of slipping up is gonna keep you on the path. Know what I mean? If you were in la-la land for an *extended* period and not even thinking…
  • I'm really sorry they said that and it made you feel bad. What's with people who don't know how to filter their thoughts?!! If I were the nurse, I would have just gotten whatever cuff would have worked best by eyeballing your arm and kept my mouth shut! People come in all shapes and sizes and it's not polite to insinuate…
  • hum... on second thought... how many days a week are you working 15 hour days? My cat would not be happy if I was away for such a long amount of time. Ultimately, you want your animal friend to be as happy with you as you are with him. Maybe a hamster? They're kinda fun!
  • I'd say cat. A dog would go crazy being left alone that long. Most people I know with dogs need to go home on lunch break to let them out mid-way through the day. Or they use those doggy pad things in the house that the dogs pee on. I  my cat!! Who cares if you're the single lady with a cat!? You'll be much happier…
  • Today was Lee Denim Day at work for breast cancer awareness, so I donated dough so I could wear jeans and support breast cancer research. I got to wear jeans that I bought 2 1/2 years ago--and they fit better now than they did then!! Hooray! Also, the staff I work with started noticing that I've lost weight (they actually…

  • I think you have every right to feel the way you do!!! Just reading your post made me feel knots in my throat!! It is really not cool that he's still hanging out with her THAT much--after you've asserted your feelings and wishes! You've been together 4 months, which is long enough to begin a bond. I think this is the time…
  • ARGh I mean THROW in one 45 minute stint
  • also, just wanted to add that it takes time, and to be patient with yourself! It has been a slow road for my weight to come off (5'2" small frame, starting at 138, current 126, would like to get to 120). I think since we are shorter and have a relatively smaller amount of weight, it takes longer? Anyway, I tell myself that…
  • I would try some interval training too! Do you wear a HR monitor? Try working out really hard for 1minute, then medium for 2 minutes, and back to hard for 1 minute, etc. I'd also mix up the length of time you work out. For instance, work out 60 minutes 3 X week, and through in one 45 minute stint in the middle of the week.
  • Thanks for the info on the ad revenue for the site! I didn't even think about that! I have disabled the Adblock Plus on myfitnesspal! I love it! :flowerforyou:
  • I also hate the ads!! The latest one I hate is not related to fitness though. It is on my Yahoo page all the time--this creepy sketch in green pencil of a person with messed up teeth and it says something about the person's future. I think it's for a college or something--who knows! I'm too creeped out by it to even see…
  • I feel ya! I'm heading to the Y tomorrow to do the same! My motivation is the cable tv at the Y! It's installed on every machine, so you have your own little theater! I don't have cable at home, so that's when I watch Animal Planet!! Sometimes I want to keep working out longer than I should just so I can see what the Dog…
  • Hello fellow red-facer! I am just curious, do you sweat much? I hardly sweat, and sometimes I wish I would b/c it feels like my face is going to burn off!! I've always felt that my 'internal thermostat' is a little off. Just curious if the red-faceness is correlated with low perspiration for you also!?
  • YUM! healthy foot!! :noway: Sorry, couldn't resist! I bet ya meant healthy fooD? In that case, I would suggest boiled eggs, baby carrots, and good ol PB and J!! :flowerforyou:
  • I'd rather ingest regular ol sugar any day rather than use a chemical replacement. There are many resources that mention the studies and warnings of artificial sweeteners. Here's one that gives an overview of all the chemical sweeteners: http://www.sweetpoison.com/aspartame-sweeteners.html Maybe limit your Pepsi habit to 1…

  • I just started eating Quorn products. One chik'n pattie has 150 calories, 6 g fat, 2 g fiber, and 9 g protein!!! They are soy free and meat free!! They're made of 'mycoprotein' which ... from my understanding of reading the back of the box... is fermented fungi. ?? Sounds weird but they are really good! I have tried the…
  • oh man!! I guess we can assume he learned his lesson to never ask when a woman is due unless it's his wife!! I'm really glad he tipped you well--that means he was just thoughtless person and not an ***hole! I also serve and sometimes I wonder what is wrong with people when I know I gave them excellent service and they give…

  • OMG!! I totally feel your pain! I am on the other side of the buffet, as a buffet attendant at special events! I work at 2 nice restaurants, one of which has received high Zagat ratings (so of course I want to eat the leftovers!). Tonight I worked a wedding reception, and EVEN THOUGH I tried to plan ahead by eating healthy…
  • Similar to the gum suggestion... I used to keep a toothbrush and toothpaste in my cube drawer (back in the days of workin at an office). Whenever I'd get that snacky feeling I'd go brush my teeth... since ANYTHING you eat after brushing your teeth is going to taste horrible and you're not going to want to dirty up your…
  • girl I hear ya! I am right there with you, right now! I've gone over my calories BIG TIME two days already this week. I'm having really intense sugar cravings. I tried to limit my soda to 2 a week and I threw in the towel early in the week on that one. I also bought a nice 'chocolove' milk chocolate bar with toffee and…
  • Don't be too hard on yourself! I think it's ok to go over your calories every now and then. It sounds like you are eating pretty well, overall! However, I go over WAY TOO MUCH, WAY TOO OFTEN. I wish I could say I only go over like once a week by like 100 calories or something. Nope. I used to think my 'negative cal' days…
