loss of sex drive?

Options
I've lost a total of 80 plus pounds over the course of the past year. I don't know if any other of you females out there have a similar problem as me, but it seems like I have no sex drive anymore. I just don't feel like it. I eat healthy, excercise regularly. I am currently maintaining my weight. Is is the weight loss, or the fact that I'll be 40 this December???

I actually have found the opposite. I'm much more interested in sex now. I'd be willing to be it's got more to do with either your age or your relationship than it does with the weightloss. Maybe you need a romantic getaway :flowerforyou:

Probably the age factor. I notice a shift when I turned 40 and am now 46. My advice to you is JUST DO IT whether you are driven or not. :blushing: Your hormones will catch up!

What meds are you taking?...a bunch of them can wreak havoc with your sex drive. And...sometimes your Doc forgets to say something unless you ask......

Was taking zoloft....noticed some differences(ahem) so finally asked Doc....he says "Oh yeah, a lot of porn stars use that to 'slow' things down"......ackkkkkk....would have saved me a lot of wondering what was wrong with ME......:grumble: !!

Thankfully that chapter of my life has passed.....and so has my relationship( proffessional:angry:thank you... ) with that particular Dr.!!!!

It could be age, although if you're peri-menopausal your testosterone levels will actually increase while estrogen levels fall, so it would make more sense to have an increased sex drive. I'm in my 20's, and I notice a decreased sex drive when I eat too little, don't take any days to eat maintenance for a couple months, or am under a lot of stress. When the body is under stress , certain processes take the 'back burner'. Or you may be releasing enough endorphins from exercise that you don't have as many cravings for sexual activity.

I would so go with the exercise making you tired. I get pretty exhausted by the end of the day.

Maybe try nookie in the morning?

My upstairs neighbors did that yesterday...:grumble: Woke me up 45 minutes early with their morning nookie, ARGH. I think the girl just visits, so every couple weeks I'm kept awake or woken up prematurely...but what can you do? "Hey guys, could you turn the fun volume down just a bit?" Awkward....

I agree though, at night I'm pretty beat from school/exercise/work. Sometimes you have to kind of schedule some free time when you know you'll be relaxed.

I actually did have to confront my previous upstairs neighbors about that and YES it was VERY AWKWARD. :embarassed: I am a very non-confrontational person so you can imagine it was pretty ridiculous for me to have to say something.

Anyhow, there are so many factors it could be! your age, the relationship, your hormones, the weather, stress/finances, etc... i wish it wasn't so complicated. You could try the trial and error approach and see how that works for ya! (ie, try the weekend getaway and if that doesn't help, try another time of day, etc) :flowerforyou:

LOL Oh gosh, I don't think I could do it! I'd have to be like..."Um, could you turn down the...movie...you were watching...? It sounded like...well it was loud." :embarassed:

Prolly a combination of age, and all those other factors! I will say that, as a guy, my libido has increased as I lose weight, and have heard the same from gals. But yeah, try to vary your normal routine a bit, different time of day, location, toys, romantic get away, etc. :flowerforyou:
