  • I have diastasis recti which is where there is a gap between my stomach muscles down the middle. What helped me is either a bosu ball turned to stand on the flat side or a balance board. I will try to balance on either one (not both together 🤣) whilst pulling my belly butten in towards my back and just generally shift…
  • I cheated yesterday. I learnt from this I was because I was not prepared. Perhaps make some no sugar, low carb chocolate fat bombs, peanut cups etc or kale chips with cheese to keep handy so you're not tempted? A few pieces of dark chocolate is good if over about 80% cocoa. I find the more tired I am the more I want…
  • Funny I had oats yesterday with cocoa, full cream milk and cream! I have gone low carb and for the last 3 weeks have been having a fried egg with processed cheese on for breakfast so I classed the oats as a cheat but it was so nice! I think it was about 30 carbs in total and I was craving sugar all day but this may be a…
  • I make chocolate fat bombs and couldn't have managed without. I like chocolate keto mousse and make a recipe and just eat a little each day as it's so filling. I use xylitol for the sweetener in these and chocolate keto cake in a mug. Recipes often use almond floor and a sweetener such as Stevia. I find the recipes very…
  • I cooked some mince beef with onions and carrots and will take some from the fridge each day and reheat, add cheese and serve with brocholi. I also use a double steamer to boil carrots and then put brocholi and salmon in the top half to steam. Takes only about 15 minutes.
  • I would agree with this as started low carb a few weeks ago and lost a lot of bloating in the belly area. Also stress/cortisol causes fat to collect in the mid-section. Also the monthly hormones cause water retention.
  • I am trying to do keto and have also noticed my teeth feel cleaner. I also think/hope my belly is getting smaller as that is one of my motivators for giving up sugar. Not lost a huge amount of weight yet as some people report losing 10lbs in the first few weeks! I wouldn't like to get a rash though. Haven't heard of keto…
  • I think something called HTP can help.
  • Yes I have experienced this and often people who have been heavier and lost weight give off more positive vibes and have more confidence which makes them more attractive as a person than someone who has always been stick thin.
  • Losing weight is like falling in love, it happens so easily when you're not expecting it. Well done!
  • Yes I also have lots of jeans. There is a special white pair that I love and feel like my life would be complete if I could fit into them again! That would mean losing at least 35 lbs though. I do sometimes get the clothes out of the boxes and look on them fondly. I am currently eating scrambled egg with three whites and…
  • Managed approximately 7 servings yesterday and was quite easy but these were high sugar items: baked beans, orange juice, tangerines, pear, strawberries, carrot, peas/sweetcorn. I really enjoyed this challenge and the comments have been fun. I will continue for March if I can and probably indefinitely as it is helping me…
  • I have a bit of this with all kinds of hypocrisy about food and other vices going round at times. For instance last night two huge leftover cakes brought home from work when he knows I'm trying to be good. Asking me to visit Subway today with him even though I didn't want the temptation. Then at other times saying "if you…
  • Approximately 800g: Radish 14g Cherry tomatoes 37g Lettuce 70g Cucumber 45g Beetroot 82g Carrot 25g Celery 28g Strawberries 80g Leeks 120g Red cabbage 60g Apple 20g Parsnip 50g Banana one Orange juice
  • I am also concerned about this but am going to ignore the sugar for the month and just try and get the 10 a day in and see what the benefits are short term - if I've lost weight/energy levels/digestive (Brown & Co deposits)/skin condition/water retention/pmt effects etc. Obviously we can never know the full benefits for…
  • Don't worry. Yesterday was also a fail for me. Back on it today though starting with orange juice.
  • Yes I was looking at some ready chopped swede in the supermarket today to make it easier.
  • Warm Fruit Snack (for cold winter days) Small apple chopped Small banana chopped Sprinkle with lemon (bottled ok) and honey and cook in the microwave for one minute on medium then stir and another minute if you want the fruit mushy. Add some yogurt or peanut butter or both ... I have been having this as a nice afternoon…
  • I am going to try and stick to this for the challenge and see what the results are. Day 3 and I am feeling slimmer already around my stomach. I love the sugar.
  • I started yesterday. I am worried about the sugar and carbs. However I am finding it easier to keep within my calories as I am able to eat lots of things all day.
  • Yes but foods high in sugar spike insulin don't they? And raise ghrelin (the hunger hormone) levels? So wouldn't one be inclined to eat more often. (However despite finding this out I still haven't managed to give it up
  • I gave up fruit juice at meal times as it supposedly had too much sugar. It hasn't made me lose weight though and I do think it might have stopped me eating a pudding so I might go back to it. I also, like you, eat a carrot or half a day. I think it's a good appetite suppressant, high in fiber and all that munching calms…
  • I think it is easier to cut out sugar if you cut out most carbs and basically go on a ketogenic diet. I think you have to stick to this all the time so that once your glycogen stores from your liver are used up you will find it's easier to say no to sugar. I think the way it works is the more sugar you have each day the…
  • When I have cod from the chip shop it doesn't seem to be oily inside so I would say it's low in carbs and calories if you don't eat the batter. Sounds nice either way.
  • That is an amazing amount. I do like fruit and veg and especially homemade soup. I do, however, get fed up with the chopping sometimes.
  • Sometimes at Aldi I will buy organic brocholi, carrots, apples if they aren't too expensive. I have thought about buying organic chicken breasts from waitrose but they were £13.00 per kg as oppose to £3.33 for non-organic. I always give my children organic pasta because it's not that expensive and I have heard on you tube…
  • I saw an article on the news and it looks as though it would cover the bottom of a small shopping basket if it was all fresh items. It would definitely reduce the space (stomach) for other foods if I ate that much!
  • It does count one portion only of legumes, one juice or smoothie and possibly nuts?
  • That is cheap! Here in England it's 11p each in Aldi and 68p per pound or it might even be 72p per pound now as everything is going up due to the low pound.
  • Boiled eggs Tinned fish - tuna, mackeral Prawns
