• HAHAHAHA Are you sure you wanna go to Philly and not Hershey? bwahahahahaha. Not that far, less than 100 miles. How about Baltimore MD. And going south sounds amazing since winter seems to want to CLING to the north! It snowed just the other day! SNOW! And it was APRIL 30th! :grumble: :noway:
• So have we decided where we are going to go next? I may need someone else to help with at least counting the miles since I cant seem to get online half the time. Thats what happens when 4 people use the same connection. Grrrrrr. That and all the other Optimum users out there.
• New York is huge so I wouldnt doubt it. lol. I want to get more of the gems though from the smaller towns and stuff. Things you wouldnt stop to see. These sights in New York, while fabulous, you can see them on tv and movies and even in books just about any time you want to. Who knew there was a cute castle in Meriden CT?…
• Empire State Building view from the bottom Empire State View from the top Belvadere Castle in Central Park Central Park Central Park Bridge (sure youve seen this in a movie or two.... lol) Central Park Times Square Times Square
• 72.19-123.95 miles means we made it and then some! Sorry ladies I have been offline. The internet has been wonky the last couple of days for some reason and I wasnt able to get on to tally! So we made it to NYC and beyond! Where would we like to go from here? As promised here is our picture collage for our efforts!
• 96.92-24.73=72.19 Miles left! I logged 1.5 miles! Woop woop..... Not the many many miles you guys seem to be able to put in, but working on it. lol. What I do, poops me out as it is. lol. We are just past Milford Connecticut. It seems to be a beautiful bay town.
• 2 in for me yesterday! I miscalculated the city before by eyeballing it. I wish I had a program that I could calculate how many miles there. Say we start in Boston and I put in New York as a destination then I can put in the miles we did and it calculate where we are on the route. That would be innovative and if I knew a…
• 170.07-39.07= 131 miles to go ladies! We are bookin it! I spent the day cleaning my van out since its the nicest day in forever. lol. I will be back to walking tomorrow. Planning a river trail walk. I cant hike because the mountains are under snow. And me and snow and my arthritis are a bad combo. Id be bear food in no…
• NY Miles- 202.71-32.64= 170.07 Miles to go!
• Yes it is in Hubbard Park. And it says there are lots of trails and paths around there. Do you live close by? That would be SO awesome if you do!
• I logged a mile or so today. LOTS of walking and moving about as I was busy building houses for a community project. SO looking forward to todays end so I can see where we have made it to thus far!
• This one is called Castle Craig.... Its in some park there in Meriden. I love the view from the top! :D If you notice the lush valley behind it at any rate. That view could only be enhanced by being above it.
• I logged a mile! Its been nasty out here in the valley! I am building a house on Saturday so... Not sure Ill get any miles in that day or Sunday. lol. NY Miles- 216- 13.29= 202.71! Making real headway! We are around the Meriden CT area. Its a beautiful castle town! I thought we would like to see the scenery as we go along.…
• I always bring a typical trail mix. Protein is even more important than carbs in any endurance sport. Even just to go exercise at the YMCA, Ill have a bit of cheese or yogurt before I go and it ALWAYS serves me better than carb based foods.
• Welcome all newcomers! :flowerforyou: We are officially started as of today. So yes log your miles daily. Its a long way from Boston to New York! lol. :D Ill post the milage until we get there and you subtract your miles until we get to 0 and there will be some picture motivation waiting us in the next city. :) So it is...…
• ok, its time to get this showboat on the road! Where should we go to from Boston? We need a city goal to work toward. So far I have logged 2 miles. Not too many since I cant hike in such cold weather (wind mainly!). Ive been pool running and run that sucker so many laps. lol....
• I will still eat burgers and steaks! NO one will live forever so might as well die well. lol.
• Any bean. If you dont like so much "beany" taste and want to start trying anyways, great northern or navy beans are good to start with. They really take on the flavor of whatever you cook them in. Usually you soak them 8 hours or so (overnight) and then drain them. Make sure to pick thru them to get the few bad ones out.…

• I say something like "Great job logging your intake", because I know how hard it is to log everything and admit to you indiscretions. Its not about congratulating them on eating too much. Thats just me tho.
• You can usually taste what is in food. So you just break it down and log it. Thats what I do anyways. I usually do not have control over what is fixed in this house so I have to guess.
• I was going to say, when I cant find something online nutrition wise I just break down the ingredients and rough guess how much is in there and there it is. Its not the best but its better than not accounting for it.
• As long as the miles are measurable in distance its fine. Bike, walking, hiking, running, treadmill or stationary bike.... If you can measure it in miles, it counts.
• Yes and Ive actually started with Boston. Is that ok or would we prefer another city?
• I was going to have us start on the east coast, but if we want to go somewhere outside the US by all means lets do. Id like to match mile for mile so if you do 15, I do 5 and Montana Girl does 10 then we can virtual hike 30 miles from the first city and so on and so forth. Lets see how far we can go!
• Sure! That works too!
• Good deal!
• Gotta love those WOW Im doing it! moments. Good for you man!
• If its something I HAVE to do, like work, shop or whatever, I do not count that as exercise. Its daily activities. Now my hiking or going to the Y... I count that.
• I live in Montana. I have not snowshoed and until Im much smaller, probably not. lol. My arthritis screams at me as it is during the winter months. :) Still, I love what I am doing now and there are SO many mountains to hike/climb Im chomping at the bit to get back out there again!
• I do have at least a day or twos rest between each hike. Id love to go everyday, but i dont have that kind of time to commit. Thanks for the tips everyone! Im going to use them all. Chances are it will probably just take time to get used to the rugged terrain and steep angles.
