  • Never posted pics before!! Eeek! Reference note: I'm 5'9"
  • Great job! That is so impressive! Bridges are brutal!! I hope you recover quickly!
  • Have you had kids? That is one of the unfortunate side effects that many moms have to deal with... it can be embarrassing to talk about, but as I have, I've realized it's much more common. It's not that I always feel the URGE to go, but we just don't HOLD things as well. I run with a pad to prevent any unfortunate problems.
  • Yoga is totally awesome for your triceps, shoulders and chest, but don't believe Madonna when she says her guns came from yoga alone. It actually has very little bicep work- there are no specific CURL motions. You will get a little from "sympathy" while you do other things, but if you want to tone up the biceps, you might…
  • Thank you, all, for the support. It's comforting to know that I am not the only one to have gone through both my circumstances and the effects. I appreciate your kind word and advice more than you can know. I managed to break 1000 calories today so that was a big #win. One day at a time.... Thanks again.
  • Thank you. I really struggle with sharing my emotions (#duh, I can't even type out the whole problem to people who I will never ever see in my life) but with this problem, I haven't even told any family or friends. I hate to put any kind of burden on others; I am typically the strong one that people come to, not the other…
  • I should probably stress that i have had A BEER OR TWO. Like literally, last night I had two and tonight I had one. It is a pretty deep issue, and yes I do know exactly the root of the problem, the main issue is the lack of resolution. I definitely believe in counseling and think it could be beneficial. My main concern is…
  • You rock!!! Great job!!!!! That is totally what I want/need to get to!
  • Unfortunately, it's not just your hair you have to worry about. The over washing will have a more detrimental effect on your scalp. Dry, itching, red is just the start. Then people think they have dandruff and will dump Head and Shoulders or something else as causticly chemical on it to "remedy." People develop problems…
  • As a hair stylist and a sweat-er, I still recommend washing it as very little as possible. A minimum of every other day.. There is no better conditioner for your scalp and hair then it's own natural oils. If you have any sort of dry scalp or hair, this is an absolute MUST. It does take time for your scalp to adjust. You…
  • That is absolutely amazing! Great job, girl!! You now have a maturity gained from all that hard work that it will take most YEARS to acquire. FANTASTIC!!!
  • When I don't feel confident about my appearance in general, I am much more likely to do my hair and makeup. I always get in the mindset that it like takes the attention away from the pounds and pounds of back fat or something.... I am a hair stylist and makeup artist, but my personal taste has always been pretty simple. I…
  • God bless the sweet man that didn't ask if I wanted to change mine last summer. I was like 7 months pregnant and WAAAY over my weight. I still consider my DL weight to be my "goal" weight. I'm about 20 lbs off ;) I think I watch too much Bones; I am always paranoid that I will be in a horrible accident and be "gone" beyond…
  • I'm on week like 21 or 22 and I am down 41 lbs. That includes a 6 week plateau. I agree with the others! You can DO so much in that time! At the start, I couldn't run a full mile and now I'm up to 9!
  • Great work!!!! Keep it up!! There is a HUGE difference!!
  • Just wanted to post an update!!! Today is 3 wks and 1 day into my "experiment." I am consistently eating 1500 calories a day +/- a few. I am still working on eating back my workout calories, but usually manage to get a majority of them. It is hard!!! After today's weigh-in, I am down from 162.5 on May 2nd, to 154 today.…
  • THAT is an insane diet. It makes me sick to just read it!! ONLY a man could put away that many sandwiches in one sitting and have room for MORE in the same meal.
  • With all three kids of mine, I was asked shortly after birth when I was due.... I get it, you still have a tummy after... but with 1 and 3, I HAD THEM WITH ME. Stupid people. I have a 6 week old baby and you are asking me when I'm due. It definitely hurts. I'm sorry about that.
  • Thanks guys, The closet thing to my symptoms I can find on Google gives me "bursitis" which I have had in my shoulder. We are sans insurance at the moment, but if it's still bugging me, I'll mention it to my family doc when I take my kids in next. At first, it started out as a "pressure" type feeling, almost like I needed…
  • http://www.runnersworld.com/article/1,7120,s6-242-304-311-8402-0,00.html I just remembered where I read the article on calorie burn!!!
  • Calorie burn has 100% to do with heart rate and effort. IF the effort expended and heart rate are the same, you will burn more jogging. BUT, a walk at 5mph is a heck of a lot harder to maintain than a jog at 5mph. You will burn more calories walking in that instance because you are working harder. A cool thing to think of,…
  • i loathe the first 10 minutes! Great advice on everything!
  • That's impressive. I could skip the fixin's, though, and live off the chocolate....
  • Keep it up! You'll get it! The first three days I like to call "hell days."
  • Great job! You look amazing!
  • I think this is really the best you can do... everyone also FEELS their healthiest differently. You can still be in rockstar athletic shape with above ideal body fat too. (football players, SHAQ, you can even be a marathoner and not be "skinny.") Or the prior poster who knows she feels best at the low end of the…
  • This is very interesting, and I like the theory behind it, because I, too, don't believe BMI tells you if you are healthy or fit. I do, however, think there needs to be more than one type of measurement involved. First, I am 5'9" and I have broad shoulders and athletic hips and legs. I have been VERY fit at times, with a…
  • WOW! Just, WOW! What an amazing accomplishment! You have so much to be proud of! You are absolutely beautiful and you are totally ROCKIN' that bikini! Amazing job!
  • I just thought of something else... I've been doing some research (runner's world, active.com, and that kinda thing...) on the best ways to increase speed and endurance. Here are a few tidbits I've picked up. When running for ENDURANCE, and to increase your DISTANCE, your speed doesn't matter really in the slightest. It is…
