Ohh, I LOVE the kayak! Going out on the water can be gentle exercise or an arm burning slog, there is a wonderful river near here where I paddle upstream, drag it over the rocks then ride the rapids back down. So much fun...

Yeah how good is that runner's high?!?! I love it, struggling to breathe, can't wipe the stupid grin off my face :D

I just dropped in to say YES to all of the above advice. It's all really sensible. I love running, and I started using couch to 5k

I'm in Australia, we just went into a harsh lockdown but we're allowed 2 hours out to exercise each day, so I am using it to improve my running. I ran 5km, then walked 5km home. Doing this every day (gradually increasing proportion of running)

Yum, I love sprouts! Score them in quarters, dry roast until crispy, toss in honey, throw in a bit of dukkah/crushed nuts. Serve on hummus

I didn't start running until I was 42! I came back from trekking Everest base Camp and I was the fittest I've ever been, so I did park run and never looked back. I love the collegial attitude between runners of all shapes and sizes...and I love the feeling of a good rush :-)

Fantastic! So satisfying to get to the top isn't it?
-
Absolutely! I schedule my fitness, work out what I'm going to eat based on that, and shop once every 4 or so days. I'm really organised on so many levels that I have more time for other things. It's worth the investment of thought to do this

Yeah, me too. I went vegan several years ago for the ethical issues. I reached my heaviest whilst vegan....I think it's because it's easier to eat a LOT when it's all plant based due to lower satiety. I have recently started eating fish on some days and I really notice the different in how much I feel I need to eat on…

I've always been a slouch, my yoga teacher suggested just being aware of engaging my abdominal muscles when I'm walking as a start, and I've really noticed an improvement

I just had a massive bowl of miso soup. It was delicious - punnet of oyster mushrooms, about half a cup edamame beans, TSP fresh ginger, 2 chopped spring onions, about a tablespoon miso paste

Anything that involves a drive-thru. I go really wild when there's no accountability :-)

Australians here will relate: 'dumb things' by Paul Kelly. My favourite running song!

I am a mad keen hiker, it's why I live where I do. Hiking made me appreciate my place in the ecosystem and contributed to me becoming a bird watcher....so I guess there's a warning for all!

For me, it turned out that I had a very mild spasticity of my soleus (one of the calf muscles) treated with botulinum injection, yes now I can say I've had botox! Worked instantly and never came back

Christmas is in mid summer here in Australia, and it's often very hot. My all time favourite hot-weather dessert for the season is fresh mixed berries (in abundance) served with walnut cinnamon crumble and a strawberry date sauce which has been scented with rosewater. It's so simple, truly delicious, and reasonably healthy!

++to the suggestions for good inner soles. I started running with compression socks and this was a game changer.

Hey, me too! Planning to go July 2019

I ran 5km, then walked 5km home. First thing in the morning. I love starting the day with this

Obesity and diabetes are the two fastest growing sources of mortality in India right now. That might tell you how effective it is...

I have a green smoothie every morning, I love it and I think it's delicious. It has 4 serves of veg: 2x kale, cucumber, celery and banana, large mandarin and protein powder. It's a great way to get some more veg into one's diet

I struggled with this on and off for months, some things worked, others worked some times and not others. In my case, the plantar fasciitis was caused by a tight soleus muscle in my calf (often the cause of this) and I have started using long compression socks whilst running. It hasn't fixed the problem but it's been a…

I love hiking, so I decided to make the ultimate goal (for me), and trained hard for 6 months then did everest base camp, it was brilliant, and now back home in Australia, even the steepest mountains are just little hills...

Marmalade on my salad sandwiches. Must be with sharp cheddar. Try it! Everyone I've tried to convince has been converted once they tasted it...

There is some wonderful, inspiring advice here. So great to see an online niche that builds people up
-
Well done you! I bet that feels great

I travel like this for work too. Best things I ever did was buy one of those "nutribullet" style compact blenders. I make green smoothies for breakfast, cook veg in the microwave then blend to make soup, throw some herbs in, options are only limited by your imagination
-
Squeeze of lemon juice at serving time and a generous pinch of black pepper

I made minestrone in mine yesterday - it was great. Then overnight, I slow poached some quinces with cinnamon and star anise. Dang, they were good!

I've made something similar and had an almond liqueur with it. Worked well
