You guys are all so sweet and supportive! It was a shock to hear the word "Cancer", and totally out of the blue. I went to bed the night of the 5th without a care in the world, then woke up the next morning passing blood in my urine (I know, TMI!) and then suddenly was in EXTREME pain. I went to the ER and they told me it…

Thanks everyone! :)

Thanks...that's how I'll log it. Once I get some of my weight off and get my knees in better condition I want to up it to 5 days a week, but physically I can't right now. Thanks again!

I don't eat them back...but I like keeping track of what I'm doing. Also, I know they are there for if I want/need them. So I want to make sure it's the correct amount showing. I was thinking about changing my stats to more activity but since it's only 3 days out of 7 I wasn't sure. Thanks for the input though. :)

I go for what has the lowest sodium. Which would be the oatmeal.

I'm 5'9" and my starting weight was 241. I'm now at 230. My goal is 135. I weighed in my 130's up until I hit 30 and then stayed in the 140's until age 40. I'm 52 now and feel that 135 would still be a good weight for me.

Also www.hillbillyhousewife.com has great ideas and also a grocery list for spending (I think) $40.00 for 3 people for a week. Or something amazing like that. I agree that things like beans, pasta, chicken, eggs, homemade soups, homemade chili, etc. are great ideas. I'm also on a budget-40 dollars a week for two of us-and…

Last night was rough. After spending the day cleaning, scrubbing, pulling weeds, hanging out clothes, and doing my daily exercising I was beat. But at 8:30 pm I noticed we were down to 1 roll of toilet paper. (no, I wasn't going to use the Sears Catalog!) I decided to stick to it and I walked to the store instead of…

We were vegan for a year and loved it. My weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol all became normal. Then I stopped and...well, here I am. :) Just google "Vegan websites" and a lot of really good ones come up. We did a lot of tofu scramble, bean soups, vegan chili is really simple and sooo good, pasta with all sorts of…

It'll be two weeks tomorrow. I love it!

I forgot to add that I'm also making more laundry soap tonight. I've been making my own since Feb. 2008 and it works REALLY great. Here's a link to the site for the soap I make. It's really easy to do and saves a ton of money.…

More laundry scrubbed today since it's so beautiful out! I love having empty laundry baskets! I have to admit that I'm keeping up with the laundry much better because I don't want it to get piled up and have to do so much at once. So in a way it's been easier. Also picked more tomatoes again today. I planted Early Girl and…

I'm also 5'9" and I always have to lose at least 30-40 pounds before someone might notice. I once went from 240 down to 155 and it wasn't really until about 175-180 that people started commenting. But on the bright side--the opposite was also true. No one ever believes that I weight as much as I do. Do you exercise? I have…

I just plugged this into SparkPeople recipe calculator with REDUCED sodium chicken broth and it comes to 54.3 calories per serving, 1.1 fat, and 393 mg sodium. That's with it coming out to 6 servings.

Well, I definitely know why my grandmother was so thin. She basically had to be just too tired to eat! I was exhausted yesterday but did make myself wash some whites that needed to be done, and get them hung out. At least they were small, and easy to wring out! :) I forgot to tell you about the emptying the wash tub. I had…

Oops, just saw the thread a little ways below mine with the same topic. Sorry!

My first day of doing things like she did was really interesting! (Even though it did about kill me!) I sat up the washtub, heated some water in pans and filled the tub pan by pan. The actual washing of the clothes wasn't bad, we don't have anything that gets what you would call filthy, just the every day wearing around…

Get off of blood pressure medication and be able to walk without knee pain.

Okay, this is going to sound strange, but whenever I'm on my treadmill I listen to Shirley Temple Sing Along. :) Happy music that just makes me feel good. :)

I don't log spices, or vegetables like tomatoes, broccoli, kale, romaine, or raw spinach. I try to stay enough under my calorie total and don't use my exercise points so I know I always have plenty of calories to spare.

If you would like, add me for a friend. Negativity of any sort is one thing I don't do. Life is too short to argue or dwell on something. If I can't lift someone up by saying something nice, I just move on. :)

My son when he was around 8 years old. We were at the beach and he and his brother were on a raft. They got into an argument and he fell off...I was standing knee deep in water holding my daughter (age 3) and saw it happen. I screamed for someone to help him, but no one paid any attention. I saw him go under and basically…

I always sweat and always have. Even when I was young and a size 3. It sucks because I feel dirty constantly...if I get dressed nice to go somewhere, I'm sweaty and gross by the time I get there. It doesn't matter if I'm in air conditioning or not. Most of the time I change shirts at least twice a day. And I'm constantly…

I definitely am going to count some of the housework I do. I clean a couple of houses a week for extra money, and one if for four hours and one is for three hours. I don't take any breaks in that time. I am soaked with sweat 20 minutes into each house cleaning. One of the houses is 3,000 square feet and all carpet except…

Hi all! I just found this thread, and just started my weight loss this past Monday. I have a lot to lose-almost 100 pounds. But I'm determined to do it! I'm 52 years old, married, my three children are grown, I started a garden for the first time in my life this year, and I am just ready to get back into the swing of…
