  • Hi there! Second time around for me as well! Most of the "friends" I had are gone. Couple of them I'm bummed........you can meet some pretty cool people on here. Feel free to add me. I want to loose about 35lbs. Which seems next to impossible to me right now!!! I just turned 40 and it seems I may be entering a mid life…
  • I was going to give my 2 cents but it looks like you have lots of FANTASTIC advice!! I did the C25K myself about 3-4 years ago and it was awesome!! Signed up for all kinds of runs and had a great time. I always had issues with my left knee but eventually I started wearing patella bands. As of VERY recently I have not run…
  • Best thing you can do is figure out what your calorie intake should be to maintain your weight. Then you cut that by 500 per day or 3500 per week. That is the formula from The American Cancer Society for weight loss of 1 lb per week. You really DON'T want to eat under your calories (it will happen sometimes just as being…
  • Also, an idea for all of you Peanut Butter lovers out there..............try PB2. It's AMAZING in shakes!!!!!!! Less fat and calories but all the yummy flavor!!
  • This was probably already said, so forgive me if I'm repeating! But I add a handful of kale and spinach to my protein smoothies in the morning. It's a GREAT way to add the fiber in along with all the other nutrients. And you really can't taste it for the most part. Doesn't bother me even a wee bit!

  • They have it at Trader Joes if you have one around you. I haven't tried it yet, but since you said it is "sweet" I may have to give it a shot. I'm a sucker for ANYTHING sweet!!
  • Almond butter is a great one. I LOVE it with a peeled green apple. One of my favorite snacks for sure. My boyfriend will practically eat it out of the jar. I get the "raw" creamy unsalted from Trader Joes if you have one around you. If not, Fred Meyer has a grinder in their natural food section and that is my next go to if…
  • I usually walk at about 4mph and my run/jog is usually at about 5.3-5.6 mph I'm 5' 5" =)
  • I actually have one that I used for snowmobilling. I haven't used it in ages but could did it out and clean it up! = ) But then still left with the where to put my junk.....could just stay in my IPod case I suppose = ) Thank you for the suggestion!!

  • Welcome!! It's a great site! :flowerforyou:
  • How long did it take for the cravings to go away? I think I just need to buck up and be a big girl. It's really weird though.....I think you're right, if I have them I just want them more! Hate this part. The sweets and the exercise.....Kind of suck at both of them! lol

  • This is ME. If I buy anything along the "sweet" lines I will have it every day until it's gone. I work with a gal that brought in these peanut butter snicker squares this week and guess what's on my food diary.............yeah, snickers! Bad enough I LOVE peanut butter but snickers are one of my faves. I just read yet…

  • Hello and welcome!
  • I agree with if you don't have something nice to say don't say it at all. I think there is such thing as constructive criticism but that should also be limited unless they are asking for it or if it is one of your MFP friends. People who think they know it all usually don't and people who are mean usually are just…
  • I wouldn't eat them back....especially after reading a blog today about how much we "under" estimate our calories in and out. If it's a lower number like yours I wouldn't worry too much. IF you are hungry have a palm full of nuts or a protein shake. It will take some of those calories and fill your tummy at the same time.…
  • I work for a single doctor practice and there is only 4 of us total.....thankfully we all eat pretty healthy. We do have a "newer" member to our crew who is young and still eating garbage but I'm rubbing off on her. She is replacing candy in her drawer to cucumbers and peppers in the fridge. (She started out saying she…
  • hahahahahaha........that's too funny
  • Thanks for all your replies!! I'm working on increasing my intake now. I usually drink about 3 24oz bottles a day. Trying to up it to 4.....good grief, peeing is a problem! lol I have to time it right otherwise I am really uncomfortable by the time I get home from work! :drinker:
  • I've started to try adding green tea rather than coffee.............BUT I LOVE MY COFFEE!!!. Trying different flavors of green tea and after seeing your post I think I will try a bit harder!
  • In a nutshell circuit training consists of high intensity strength training. You get cardio and strength training by doing "circuits" of reps and not slowing down to rest. You keep your heart rate up and burn calories WHILE you are building muscle. A lot of trainers are doing it. It's def my preferred method!!

  • OH! Almost forgot! If you like bread/pasties........Get one can of pumpkin puree' (The smaller one, I think 16-18oz) and a box of Devils food cake mix (or any flavor you want) and mix the pumpkin in. No need to add anything else. Bake in 12 cupcake tin for about 25 min (or until toothpick is clean when you check it) and…
  • The Dryers "no sugar added" fruit bars are yummy. Sometimes I have to have 2!! = ) They are only 25 calories each.
