You forgot to ask for how many sets :)

That is in fact #1

This. And also be aware that you don't have to gorge on protein after a workout. Eat some if you like or if you're hungry or whatever, but not because someone said you have to. This is the marketing spew of supplement hucksters.

i considered posting this earlier

ok ok so it doesn't occur 100% naturally, but it is a good mix of protein, carbs, and fat.

Family doctors are not the end all be all in nutritional and fitness advice. If you are wanting to lose weight, you would be much better off skipping the shakes and eating solid food. Eating 3 oz of skinless chicken breast (27g protein 0g carb 3g fat) will be about the same a a scoop of protein powder mixed with water and…

I am absolutely not saying no AMRAP sets. I am saying no utter failure. As was stated earlier, even the AMRAP sets should not be to utter failure. Greyskull LP and a novice LP routine has AMRAP sets IIRC. I think in some respects it is a better program than SL, but it doesn't get the same publicity around here. I think we…

First off there are many kinds of sugar. Glucose, fructose, sucrose, lactose, maltose, dextrose, etc. As I said the only one that can cause any problem is fructose. The only hard data from properly conducted studies is on sedentary individuals. We could presume the tolerance of active individuals is higher, but there is no…

Can I go out on a limb and ask why you want to use protein powder instead of eating real food in the first place?

Says the guy who has clearly never been cut by a wheat knife.

And then she won a battle of wits against a Sicilian

Training to failure is often counterproductive and is completely unnecessary for novice lifters. First and foremost they should do the routine as written if that is the routine they chose to follow. If the routine says do 5 sets of 5, then do that. I personally think people should start with a weight that is somewhat…

That's funny since the one and only sugar that can pose any health risk at all (diabetes) is fructose (eaten in large quantity every day) which is the sugar found in fruit.
-
Or even better, stop worrying about sugar ;)

Funny thing is that while people on PEDs get great results from splits, they would probably get even better results with something else. Unless we are talking about the people who would actually have any business being on PEDs who are advanced enough to warrant a split in the first place.

I don't know or care

Not feeling a burn doesn't mean you aren't getting results. That said I'm with the other people and would suggest moving on to a simple novice barbell lifting routine and throwing in some glute bridge>hip thrust work at the end of the core lifting routine for a little extra.
-
With my current lifting routine I think my maintenance is probably going to be about 3000, so to bulk would be a bit more and to cut would be a bit less. I didn't start until i was 37, but I have seen my abs and have deadlifted 405, squatted 350, benched 225, and ohped 175. Not crazy high, but not nothing. Don't get caught…

Bare minimum of .82 grams per pound of your lean body mass IF it is all from very high quality sources. Going up to 1 gram makes up for any lack of quality with quantity and makes thinking about the quality of sources unnecessary. That said there is nothing wrong with going over by 100 grams if you want to; it just isn't…

nutrition wise you could probably eat a mixture of whey powder, table sugar, and lard and add in a few supplements (well yeah whey is already a supplement), but who would want to do that.
-
At your level I'd say you would be ok at up to 4lbs\week but the leaner you get the slower you should go. Also you have to keep in mind that anyone starting out is going to get an initial burst of water weight loss that will skew your avg results in that short of a period. In general you should try to eat as much as you…

It looks like a 5 day bodypart split which is not the best way for a novice or even intermediate lifter to train. That said, any kind of progressive training along with a calorie surplus will give some results. If you don't care about optimal results, go for it. If you do want optimal results, go with something that has a…

Hanging leg raises, standing\kneeling cable crunches, ab wheel

There are much less grueling and time consuming ways to get results.

Hey remember that time someone with no understanding of nutritional science started a thread on the internet

Unnecessary food avoidance for the lose

Probably a very viable option if you put protein powder in the cake and take multivitamin and fish oil supplements ;)
