Thank you! I've read that thread but wasn't sure how to approach the carbs. Your input is greatly appreciated!

Look up Layne Norton's videos on youtube. He has a Vlog on this subject.

70lbs was the magic number for me. Close friends and family noticed before but others that I seldom see or barely know saw the difference at -70lbs (I started at 260). Now, I am approached by everyone, even people I don't know, and they tell me how great I look.

Congrats on your weight loss! I can tell you that I ate 1200 calories a day for the first 50 lbs and I felt horrible! I was literally starving my myself (sometimes burning more than 1200/day in the gym - I loved my cardio). I now eat 1600-1800 calories and burn far less calories in the gym (better conditioning and I focus…

I am Hypo (Hashimoto's). I was diagnosed with Hypo 10 years ago but it wasn't until this year that I really started taking my meds religiously. I am on 200mcg of Synthroid daily. I take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and then wait 30 minutes to eat breakfast. When I wasn't taking my meds routinely I was…

Actually it does because when you eat your metabolism accelerates to process the food. After long periods of time without eating (typically 3 hours or more) your metabolism slows down. SO, if you eat every 2-3 hours your metabolism will always be in the accelerated state. Now, lets hear your reasoning on why this isn't…

Instead of focusing on restricting your carb intake focus on increasing your healthy fats and protein. I try to stay around a 40/30/30 carb/protein/fat ratio and it has helped me.

When I first started my weight loss journey I was in your same shoes. I was one of those people that would eat once or twice a day. Eat frequently throughout the day. You should be eating every 2-3 hours. This not only helps keep your cals up but it also helps boost metabolism!

I started my journey with all the symptoms of PCOS but was never diagnosed. Don't look at your medical conditions as hindrances because if you want it bad enough and are willing to do EVERYTHING that it takes to over come the obstacle you can. I have lost 70lbs and overcome it!

Very true. In the end you have to honest with yourself. Although you can take steps to insure the tape is in the right spot. Ex: measure 5" up from the point of a bent elbow and then that is the place you can consistently measure for an arm (not saying that is the best spot... just an example). Pulling the tape too taunt…

Measurements are a better way of judging success. A photo can be manipulated in so many ways. A photo taken at a different perspective will make a person look smaller/bigger. Many people take photos from a slightly high position because it is more flattering but is this the way to truly measure success? Measure, it is the…

I am another daily weigh-er. I say to each their own. If weighing daily effects you then don't do it but for those of us who do it serves as a constant reminder to eat clean. I do see the scale fluctuate up from time to time but it is a reminder that the day before I went over my sodium or I ate too many carbs (I am carb…

That is awesome! I have had similar thoughts for myself after I reach my goals. Best of luck to you!

Chips and Salsa or Dill Pickles (damn that sodium!)

You look absolutely amazing! Congrats on your success! Your pictures give me hope that one day I might actually loose these back breaking boobs!

I wouldn't be so much worried with the straps and the amount of weight until you have your form down.
-
Chest up, butt down, weight should be in your heels.

I do see a difference! You are solely focusing on your stomach which is a trouble area for most and one of the last places to see weight loss. Next time take full body pictures and you will see more of a difference. I carry most of my weight in my mid section but I noticed the first/most change in my hips, legs, arms, and…

I haven't eliminated anything that I love but I have cut back on it and made them treats every now and again. Mine are: Dill Pickles (I can't just eat one and HOLY sodium!), Chips and salsa (once again I can't contain myself), and white carbs (I am a carbaholic). If I am craving any of the above I will give in a little…

I weigh myself daily because it keeps me on track. Weighing daily shows me my successes and my failures on the days I don't eat so good. It would be easy for me to eat poorly all the time if I did not see the immediate effects of it. I don't own a scale and refuse to by one because I would be tempted to weigh myself…
