  • I don't think OMAD is going to work for me....but IF might. That's what I used to do "back in the day"...didn't know it had a name....lol.
  • Hi...I had never heard of OMAD until I read this blog. It sounds like something I may try. I searched it and found an article that explains it all. I have about 100 lbs to lose. My real goal though, is to change my numbers....high cholesterol, pre-diabetic. I thought maybe concentrating on that, instead of just dropping…
  • I've been here awhile...but slacked off. Most of my friends have slacked off also. But...I'm starting fresh and giving it another try....it does work...if you use it and stick with it!
  • I say just do the best you can for yourself and eat "sensibly". We need to use our heads! I have said for years that we should eat the way the cavemen did....or the way animals eat...meat, seafood, vegetables, fruits, nuts...whatever grows from the ground....and eat to live not live to eat. Then all of a sudden I start…
  • Yep...what he said! :-)
  • I'd like to add you. I have 101 lbs to go. I had less to lose....but gained some back. I lost a nice chunk of weight with the help of MFP, slacked off, and gained it back. I was a Weight Watcher member, on and off, for over 20 years...got too commercialized and expensive for me. I am now, and have been for 3 years, a…
  • Great idea! We are currently doing something like this at our TOPS club....but instead of marbles we're using coins. A dime is one pound, a nickle is a half pound, and a penny is a quarter pound. We each had to predict how much weight we think we can lose in 14 weeks....as we lose we get to transfer the coins from one jar…
  • Bumping! I was just looking up white chicken chili recipes yesterday! Thanks!
  • I have the Polar FT 4...I think. I like it. It has the chest strap...I guess the ones with a chest strap are supposed to be the most accurate?
  • I try to log even on my worst days....if I can remember everything! If I have a really bad day and can't remember everything...I just hit easy tools and add an approximate calorie count....like 3,000 or something....lol! Then I write myself a note on the page about what I did that day that caused me to consume so many…
  • I agree...we definitely need a "LIKE" button....lol! I am amazed at the numbers I have seen in this post. What great inspiration! Keep up the good work!
  • Wow! You have done awesome! That is a great achievement!
  • My highest weight was 282. That's when it hit me that I was close to weighing 300 lbs! I rejoined Weight Watchers...for about the third time in my life...and lost 40 lbs. After a few years I became dissatisfied with how commercialized WW had become and I quit...regained 20 lbs...and decided to try TOPS with my Mom. I lost…
  • I agree. I have faith in the chest strap/monitor as being most accurate. I have a Polar FT something also but not sure what number. i think it's the next one up from the 4....but i think the only difference is that mine can plug in to the computer to record ststs on their website. I never use that function so...I should…
  • Vodka...on the rocks, usually 1.5 ounces for me...one olive...a splash of olive juice....lol! I also like Michelob ultra with a half ounce of Jose Cuervo gold tequila and lime wedge shoved in. If you can handle the sodium, rub the lime around the bottle opening and coat it with salt....I just sprinkle it on while holding…
  • I give myself a few extra calories on my weigh-in day. I set a limit...usually 2,000 calories...and I try to stick to it. It's not always on my weigh-in day...if I have something special coming up that I know will cause me to want to consume more calories, I use my extra calories on that day. I have had "cheat days" in the…
  • I agree whole heartedly! OK..I thought this was going somewhere else in reply to someone else's post. Oh well...no way to delete once it's posted?
  • It really depends what you have your activity level set at. Your average calories burned each day is set by what your activity level is. If you consider yourself "sedentary", then any activity you do that burns extra calories, aside from what you burn by being sedentary, is a burn of extra calories. And I agree...baby…
  • I wish I had a magic formula for staying on track. Unfortunately there's no such thing. I guess it's in our heads...we have to want it bad enough. It's not a "diet"...it's a lifestyle change....and change isn't always easy. I know that when I eat healthier I feel so much better. I don't feel sluggish and bloated the way I…
  • That is so much awesomeness!!!!

  • I also have the polar F7 and it works great!
  • I never noticed a difference in measuring cups. But, I never checked them....lol. What I hate is....I have 2 sets of measuring cups, plastic, and the measurement of each cup is painted on. The paint is washing off over time and there is no markings left!
  • I think it's normal to fear the unknown. Will it change me? Will I act different? What if I don't like the "new me"? I used to fear the idea that men might start talking to me and I wouldn't know how to act. Most people don't know this about me but, I am shy when I am around men. Fortunately I don't have to worry too much…
  • You have done sooooooooooo awesome! I have very few photos of me at my heaviest and I don't know if I'd post 'em....lol! I still have a long way to go but I'm going to keep at it! Keep up the good work Twinks! I admire you and you are an inspiration!
  • Good luck with that! I know I couldn't stick to that challenge....lol! We spend every weekend at a marina and it's like party central! I could handle this challenge in the winter!
  • I used to weigh myself every day....it helped me learn what and how I was eating affected my body, along with the monthly changes the female body goes through and how it can affect your body. If you can handle the ups and downs and not get discouraged as it fluctuates during the week, or month...it is a good tool for…
  • MUSCLE does NOT weigh more than FAT! A pound of muscle is the same as a pound of fat! But....muscle may be replacing the fat in your body. You may not be showing a loss on the scale but your body is more toned. Be sure to measure if you are not showing a loss on th scale. I was working out alot at first and started not…
  • I agree!!! Everyone is different...just do what you feel you can handle and challenge yourself!
  • I started working out in February and have increased my workout every week. I am never sore. If you get sore it sometimes discourages you from being consistent. I have never been real sore from a workout but have been able to consistently increase my workouts and have lost 22 lbs and I'm not sure of the total inches but I…
