  • I appreciate the help. It makes more sense broken down that way. I have really been trying to be true to myself and log everything I'm eating, and stick to the "calendar" for how I'm supposed to eat throughout the day. My weight bounced from a 5lb loss to a 3lb gain. It's discouraging, but I can tell what I have done for…
  • Congratulations on a huge accomplishment!!! I quit last year, and it was incredibly difficult! You are awesome for sticking to your guns. It's natural for you to find another "habit" to replace the first, but get past your cravings first. The weight will come back off in time. Right now, celebrate a cancer-free life!!!
  • Seeing the results. It's so easy to be discouraged. My dietician showed me what 5lbs looked like (that's my total loss so far), and I was astonished at the amount that my body has gotten rid of with just a few small changes. You can do this. Just take each success as it is: a success, and do not count your failure as a…
  • I got quite a bit more than 60, but it's on my short-term list. I'm losing slowly so that I can keep the weight off. Some diets that make you lose weight quickly don't work very well, and you gain back. That is devastating, and makes a person give up more easily. You can do this, and we'll be here every step of the way…
  • This. Ask a dietitian. I went to my doc, and he tried to put me on adkins. My nutritionist/dietitian was like, NO!!! She has me on a plan that is working so far!!! I feel full for longer, and it's easier to say no to sugary snacks (my weakness).
  • I've found that small victories are a big deal. When you don't eat a biscuit, celebrate your decision. When you park a little further away from your office, celebrate those extra steps you took. Every little thing you do positively, celebrate and be proud of yourself. Consider it a "step" in the right direction. And when…
  • I have a physically active 17 year old son who eats like a horse (he should he's always going and doing something like football practice, swim practice, beating up his friends in mock wrestling matches), and I give him leftovers. I know if he gets it, it will be gone from the house! lol
  • When I'm fighting a craving, I eat other stuff to avoid the "bad" food and end up going way over my calories for the day. Also, I have no self-control when it comes to sweets. I've had to learn to just buy a serving instead of a package of something...I'm not done til it's all gone... :(
  • You've chosen a great place to start! WE are all in it to get better!

  • Yesterday, ice cream. I was all like, just this one thing won't matter (til I logged it)! Yikes!!!
  • First of all, you are absolutely gorgeous, and have a beautiful smile. Thank you so much for brightening my day with that great profile pic. Don't worry about being discouraged. We all get there, and you will handle this. You made it this far! Keep moving forward! :)
  • I have the same problem. I love food, and I've been a cook for half a decade, my husband is a cook, and my future son-in-law is a chef...I'm surrounded by nummy nibbles always, and it makes this trek more difficult. One success I've had is holding myself accountable. I enter everything, even the Hardee's meal I shouldn't…
  • I'm 30, SW 280 GW: 185 Height: 6'0" I was at my GW for a long time, but stress eating killed me! BAck on track with the MFP fam helping keep me grounded! Good luck! You can do anything you aspire to do, even fly with the right wings.
  • It stinks that you are having to go through this when he is obviously the problem. He "bought the cow" so to speak, and is not mature enough to continue to uphold his end of the deal. You are beautiful. 10lbs, more to love. If he is saying things to another woman about being attracted to you, it his way of trying to make…
  • I love having you as a motivator. You always seem to add that one thing I need to get through my day. It's so hot here; the air is broken. I haven't had the motivation to work out. short walks have been it. Now, reading this, all i want to do is "dash" along the beach. Thank you for your always motivational spirit!
  • finances? frequently :/
  • Never been caught by the parents; my mom came home from work right after once, and i almost died.... i was thinking, "She knows, i know she knows!!!" Have you ever peeked into someones window?
  • yes! I picked her from the military police for DUI last night!!!!!!!!!!!! as for clothing optional resort, that's a big negative. naked people are scary. Have you ever told someone who had BO that they needed a bath?
  • Never ran away. The people out in the world scared me more than my parents did. Never been accused of a crime. Have you ever tried to do the Dukes of Hazzard slide over the hood of a car?
  • Yes Have you ever picked a wedgie in church? (Yes, i have, and the pastor was watching)
  • (Joining in if that's ok...) No, never made out with a random someone at a concert. Have you ever kissed a guy one of your friends liked?
  • You are an amazing person for posting this. You are beautiful because with just two sentences, you made us all stop and look at our own beauty for once. Though we never met, may not ever, I love you deeply! Keep being you! And stick with us! We are going to beat this together!
  • Doesn't sound half bad. My biggest fear is YOGURT! I hate the stuff. Unless it's the Yoplait Whips Key Lime Pie. Even then, I can't get all of it down, cuz the aftertaste gets me. :/ Does the jello take away that weird yogurt-y aftertaste? Anyway, gonna give ur recipe a shot. Thanks for posting!
  • p.s. Don't ever do one muscle group every day! Vary it because you can damage your muscles by working them everyday! Sorry I left that out :/
  • My mom is a personal trainer, and she showed me that placing an exercise ball in between your knees and squeezing will burn that right off. (Mine's shrunk an inch, and i've only done it twice). Place the ball directly between your knees so that your thighs rest on it. Squeeze and hold for a second, or bounce your legs…
  • Thank you so much for posting those!!! I really need to post some as well, before i lose the weight! I have a few, but I'm embarrassed to put them up.
  • I have the same problem, not with shift switches, but with long fast paced hours!!! I have learned that the best thing is to always think healthy!!! Take nuts and fruit to work so you can snack healthy and brown bagging is going to be your best friend. Your body is going to let you know when to eat. Just respond to it.…
  • I'm beautiful because I can see the good in everything; even on the rainiest dreariest days, something good will come of it.
  • That's a great reason to buy a few cute belts to keep those pants up til you lose so much the pants fall off belt or not! Keep up the great work, and in doing so, you are motivating all of us!!! Feel free to friend me so I can have more success stories to look at every day!
  • Welcome aboard! We're all in this together! Friend me if you like :)
